Paradise Montana style! Beautiful log cabin on quiet, uncrowded Placid Lake. Perfect for a special family gathering, there is room for everyone to spread out in two family rooms, two master bedrooms with king size beds, and a bunk room for six.

There is something for everyone to do; enjoy the view and a glass of wine from the deck, swim, play board games & air hockey, peddle boat, canoe, hike, watch movies, or snooze in the lakeside hammock.. Take a short drive to the town of Seeley Lake for golf, horseback riding, antiquing, rent a jet ski, or eat huckleberry ice cream.

About The Owner

Mary and Wade are long time Missoula residents with deep connections to Montana. Wade is a local home builder and Mary works for a non profit as an advocate for parents of children with disabilities.

They enjoy making memories at the lake with grandkids, friends, and their dogs.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 1989
Why The Owner chose Seeley Lake

In the early 1930's, Mary's grandparents built a rustic lakeside log cabin on Seeley Lake. Some of her best memories were spending time at the lake when she was a child; it was truly a Montana dream. When the time came to build a place of their own, it had to be log and it had to be in the Seeley Swan Valley.

By 1989, Seeley Lake was very busy lake indeed. Wanting a quiet spot and a relatively warm water lake, they chose Placid Lake to build their cabin in the woods.

Although Placid Lake is close to the town of Seeley Lake and only an hour from Missoula, it is a peaceful place. It has little public access and is three miles off of the highway. A stay at Placid Lake a true Montana experience.

Fabulous place, incredible, everything is as stated in ad. It was very hard to leave.
Our family had just a terrific time.
We all agreed to go back next year.

We have stayed at this cabin three times now and have loved it every time. It is perfect for family reunions. The paddle boat and canoe were put to good use. Loved sitting by the fire at night, fishing off the dock and relaxing in the hammock. The back deck allows for a beautiful view of the lake. We will definitely be back! Only small drawback is there is no DVD player for kid downtime...not really a problem because thats not what you want to spend time doing at the lake but my teenage nieces did enjoy the large collection of disney VHS tapes that were available. Thanks!
