A Slice of Heaven

Sadly, our family had to depart this amazing property today after 5 wonderful days.
First off, if you're looking for a place to unwind that provides both spectacular scenery and seclusion, you'd be hard pressed to find better. It's difficult to leave the deck overlooking the gorgeous water and surrounding islands, which is where we ate every meal all week, and the only humanity we encountered during our stay were sailboats passing by a mile offshore. Our kids even slept until 8 every morning, which is a strong indicator of how utterly quiet the environment is.
The house was just perfect for the 6 of us - immaculate, cozy, and roomy, with all the amenities we could have wanted (the owners take excellent care of the house and grounds, and had just finished some upgrades to the decor and electronics right before we arrived, so it really feels brand new). Shopping and dining are less than 10 minutes away, and the proximity of the house to both the ferry terminal and the airport make access a breeze. And don't worry about visiting the local aquarium - at low tide, there's a personal aquarium waiting for you on the beach below. The only thing that got our kids in from it every day was the incoming tide.
I have no doubt that we will return to "The Retreat" in the near future. Next week??
