About The Owner

We've travelled and lived all over the world, however I was lucky enough to be raised in Michigan and in fact spent all of my Summers on Lee Point Road. Lee Point is one of the most majestic, peaceful and romantically beautiful places on earth.

The Owner purchased this house in 2002

Why The Owner chose Suttons Bay

We bought the house as we own adjacent property and wanted to have space for our family and friends to visit. In between those visit, we are proud to be able to share with others thru VRBO.

You can't beat the clean water, wonderful sandy beach and the tranquility of the trees and forest that surrounds the house.

What makes this house unique

No need to pack allot of clothes - you'll be waking up and putting on your swim suits and end the day with a cover up on, sitting at the fire pit on the beach. Endless scenery, great walking and running trails, beaches and hikes nearby. If you need a diversion from water sports and nature, you can be in Suttons Bay in minutes or Traverse City in 20 mins. Leelanau County has many places to explore; from wineries, to nature reserves, villages with great artists and funky boutiques.

Summer Fun - Relax on Lake Michigan

  • 5 of 5

Beach, sand, view, starry starry nights - and a lovely cottage with all the goodies - we were far far away but only 10 minutes from Suttons Bay - 20 to Traverse City and 20 to Leland! This north country get away is a must do every summer for us! Love the shallow water for wading and Petosky stone hunting and swimming out to our boat. Attentive owners are near by if you need something but otherwise not around. Long walks on the winding road in the morning- canoes and paddle boards at the beach - BBQing for dinner and some mores at the beach bon fire later--- everything a summer vaca with or without the kids should be! Layout of house manages a large crew well. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute- can't wait to return.

Owner's Response: It was really fun to have you and your children enjoy the beach. I've never seen a family play from dawn to dusk with every boat, kayak, SUP and beach games and still have energy for a beach fire at night. Glad you took advantage of beautiful West Grand Traverse Bay.

Great Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

The beach was perfect for us to all relax. Shallow waters, so the kids could play without me having to hover over them and the beach big and sandy so we could play baseball. Everything we needed was in the house and the layout worked well when we wanted separation from each other. Three generations on vacation - someone will need quiet time. Ready for our next visit.

Owner's Response: Thanks for sharing your experience. The cottage and beach are always popular with families and adults who just want to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. We are close to Traverse and Suttons Bay for dining and shopping, close to the Sand Dunes and multiple wineries and breweries. Sometimes challenging to pull yourself away from the beach and West Grand Traverse Bay. Glad you had a great vacation! Cheryl

Wonderful Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

I wanted to make sure that I sent out a review for this property. What a great location, we have two children and they kept busy all week! The cottage is perfect, all the amedities that you need and more. Cheryl was an amazing host. Through out the week we explored the small towns, local wineries and the sand dunes. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable week....wish we could of stayed longer. The sand in front of the cottage is a beautiful white, clean sand, the kids could walk out for about a mile untill the water level got deep. The bottom is smooth with no rocks and and water is as clear as glass. We also enjoyed our night fires on the beach! Thank you Cheryl!!

Wonderful week

  • 5 of 5

Our stay on Lee Point Road was exceptional. The beach front and water were perfect for our group with 3 small children. We were a little concerned that crossing the road might be a problem, but the house sits back from the road so that it wasn't an issue. The house had plenty of seating and eating area - our group of 6 adults and 3 children were very comfortable. The location was perfect for short trips into Suttons Bay, Leland, and Traverse City. We would highly recommend this site for a great vacation.

Owner's Response: Thanks Bennita for taking time to share your experience. We love that you were able to spend time in amazing Leelanau County and at our slice of paradise. Especially great to have 3 generations together in one house with your own private beach. Please come back, we'd love to see you again!

Great Beach!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for the week of July 4th. There were 4 adults and 4 kids. Plenty of room to spread out! The house was very clean, and the owner was great. The beach was amazing for our young kids (3,4,5 & 7). Super shallow, warm and clear a long way out. We would definitely stay there again. The kitchen area is a little small for our size group, but our weather was great and we ate at the picnic table on the beach most nights. The living area is much larger than it appears in the photos. I only wish we could have stayed longer. It was hot while we were there, and while there was no AC, the house is in the shade, and not having AC was not a big deal. The owner also was kind enough to arrange for a babysitter so the adults could get out for an evening. All in all she was very helpful.
