Dear Wanner Family,
Where do we begin? Everything was wonderful. Our stay here was so relaxing and enjoyable. My son enjoyed running and playing outside. He named your cows. My daughter and niece would run to the pond every morning to catch the "big" fish. My inlaws came up for 2 days and they fell in love with your home just as we did. Everything was perfect and we look forward to coming back next year!
What a beautiful and lovely home! We had 11 women and had plenty of room to spread out. Comfortable beds for everyone. Kitchen had everything we needed and a nice big table for games and snacks. The house is immaculate and so cozy. We didn't leave the property. Above and beyond touches like towels in the bathrooms for every guest and linens and pillows for all! The owner could not have been more accommodating and was a pleasure to work with. We stayed without kiddos but we are all moms and remarked how amazing it would be for several families to sharer he house. Crib, pack n play and toys all on site. The yard had a great player, pond and wonderful cows!!
Highly recommend!! We will be back!!
We are an 18th Century Reenactor group that has an annual banquet and every year we try to find a different period correct tavern. This year we chose the Revere Tavern in Paradise and decided to find a period correct house to stay in for the weekend. We found Jen Wanner's place and it was perfect. There were 14 of us and we had plenty of room and loads of fun. The house is perfect for a large group who want to stay in a nice, clean, well equipped place instead of a hotel. Our only regret was that we did not stay for 2 nights. But since we all had such a great time, we will probably be back in the near future.
Each year we plan a girls trip, usually to Deep Creek in the winter or the beach in the summer. This year we wanted to stay a little closer to home (we are all from Baltimore) but far enough away that our husbands couldn't summon us back to cook dinner :) With a group of 12 we found the farm house clean, adequate and simply amazing! After watching a horror movie the first night we debated if there were spirits there or not, lol, but if there are, they are friendly and we had no issues! Plenty of space with the luxuries of home. The baby cows were a hit! And, Wal-Mart is only 10 mins away! Thanks again Jen & Cookie for sharing your home! We would absolutely consider your guest house for another getaway!
The farm house was clean and warm. It had a great number of beds and bedrooms. The original woods floors were beautiful. I had hoped for more seating in the living room considering how many people the house can sleep. There were cosmetic issues around the house. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays. We were disappointed in the electric fire place. We were hoping for a real one. The house was a little far from the main area we usually visit, yet extremely quiet. We would definitelyconsider staying there again.
We used the guest house for a leadership retreat for 3 couples. It was the perfect setting - quiet and secluded, but included the modern conveniences, including wifi and Dish TV when we wanted a break from the meeting. Jen was welcoming and helpful in our planning our time away.
We stayed at the Farmhouse for a long weekend with three families. There were plenty of bedrooms, big eat in kitchen and family room and patio space that were all used. The family was great to work with and they gave us the number of a local Amish family who made us dinner. We all loved the place and the setting. It is perfect for a family getaway. We would definitely go back.
