Overview

Pittsfield Lodge Rental Photos and Description

15 BR, 17 Baths, sleeps 33. Rent the Lodge for your retreat, reunion, or wedding

Located on scenic Route 100 in the idyllic New England village of Pittsfield, the Amee Farm Lodge is relaxed country elegance at its best.

The fully-restored post-and-beam farmhouse features 15 deluxe guest bedrooms with wide-planked pine floors, hand-hewn wooden furniture, comfy beds with Tempurpedic mattresses, and private bathrooms with stone-lined showers and lovely large rain showerheads. There are several spacious common areas, including an inviting wrap-around porch with Adirondack chairs for admiring the scenery and the resident farm animals.

The property boasts 40 scenic acres complete with two ponds, a waterfall, hiking and biking trails, and a magnificent view of the Green Mountains from any corner of this Vermont estate.

Pittsfield offers an abundance of activities, energetic or otherwise. There is always something exciting and unique to do. Many folks come to Pittsfield simply to seek out old-fashioned country quiet, savoring the chance to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature, to bond with our farm animals, to gaze in wonder at the brilliant colors during fall foliage, or to stroll through the village green with a latte from our quintessential Vermont general store. Others come to enjoy a mellow tube ride down our river, or an inspiring visit to the local gallery featuring marble sculptures.

Pittsfield is also a prime location for outdoor enthusiasts, no matter what the season. Surrounded by the lush Green Mountains, Pittsfield has renowned hiking, mountain biking, and snowshoeing trails. In fact immediately across the road from the Lodge you will find the entrance to Green Mountain Trails, boasting 20 miles of trails that stretch across 750 acres. In the warmer months we organize multi-day road bike tours from our Lodge (courtesy of Great Bike Tours), and we a6lso rent road bikes to our guests on a daily basis. And for the golfers out there, it’s only a 10-minute drive to Vermont’s #1-rated public golf course — the 18-hole Green Mountain National Golf Course. Winter offers an equal array of exciting outdoor activities. Besides the snowshoe trails across the road (and we also organize our own snowshoe tours), you can also utilize some of the nearby top-notch snowmobile trails, go cross-country skiing, take a sleigh ride, or drive 20 minutes to the Killington Ski Resort.

Did we mention that you can rent the entire Amee Farm Lodge for your own event? We host all manner of Vermont weddings, family reunions, corporate events, conventions, retreats, and private parties. The downstairs level is perfect for gatherings of up to 200 people. If you have been looking for the ideal location to host your wedding or other event, then look no further than the Amee Farm Lodge.

Winter Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

For the second year in a row, our extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, etc.) stayed at Amee Farm Inn for Christmas week. What a great place to hang out and relax after the frenetic holidays! Some of us enjoyed taking long walks on the back roads of Pittsfield, while the young families with children booked sleigh riding excursions nearby or hiked the trails of the farm across the street. Many of us went off visited local towns like Woodstock, for lunch and novelty shopping. While last year we thoroughly enjoyed sleigh riding on the hills of Amee Farm, this year there was no snowfall. That is not to say that we were disappointed, as there are so many fun things to do in the area. The innkeepers at Amee are very helpful and give you a choice of having their presence throughout your stay right in the Inn or just contacting them on their cells should a problem arise. One day we noticed it was chilly in the main room and after one call to the innkeeper, a maintenance man showed up to remedy the situation. I highly recommend Amee Farm for large groups and my one suggestion is that guests book the place as a large group as opposed to various families who don't know each other staying there together. I say this because I believe that although the 15 bedrooms can accommodate different small groups, the main rooms are not conducive to privacy among strangers. Our large family felt very, very comfortable hanging out together and spreading out throughout the Inn.

Yoga Retreat

Loved everything about the location. Perfect distance from ski resort. Not far but close enough to still have privacy but think your away from it all ;)... Hope that makes sense!

Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

Our experience at Amee Farm rated 5 stars, thanks to the accommodations, breakfasts, home baked cookies for afternoon snacks and the personal attention of Amee Farm Innkeepers Simon and Jessica. They went out of their way to meet the needs of our family of 20 spanning 3 generations. We celebrated with a special, well planned dinner catered by Katie & Kevin which was set up in the spacious lodge and they even handled clean-up. They operate out of the nearby General Store which we frequented throughout the week for hot & cold meals, drinks & a variety of convenience items.

Four children ages 6-8 spent hours outdoors in the expansive yard – playing games, watching cows and an occasional turkey in a nearby field, were fascinated by the pond and associated plants, frogs & fish, also climbed rocks and created their own games. One highlight was a guided tour of a nearby goat farm where you can touch and pet these friendly critters and buy goat cheese & milk in the nearby barn. Another attraction is a nearby shallow stream with swimming holes and exciting plants, wildflowers & trails that enticed all ages.

There is much space in and near the lodge with activities for kids and adults that included board games in this rustic recently renovated Inn, a ping-pong table & pool table in the spacious lodge area, bike rentals and more. The Inn has many quiet, comfortable locations for lounging, reading and socializing. We purchased delicious organic vegetables grown right across the roadway.

You can explore the area to your hearts content on numerous hiking trails, rocky streams with swimming holes and all within walking distance. We also enjoyed walks in Gifford Woods State Park, on Thundering Falls Trail and on trails near Killington and Pico. Both local and distant trails can vary from easy to difficult.

In summary, we enjoyed this superb setting for our family celebration that exceeded our expectations.

Family reunion and 50th anniversary celebration

  • 5 of 5

Our children planned a family reunion (for all 25 of us) for a Sunday to Wednesday in August at Amee Farm. We were surprised on Monday when 28 more people showed up for a banquet celebrating our 50th anniversary. Amee Farm was a perfect place for this. Very clean, comfortable, and pleasant. Simon and Jessica are great hosts!

I will be coming again

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the Amee farm , this last June for the Death Race. My experience was wonderful & will never forget my stay. I was pulled out of the Death Race due to some medical issues & when I got back to the farm, Simon & Jessica , the innkeepers of the Amee farm took very good care of me & made sure I ate food. Simon brought me some food to eat that night. They would do that for anyone who was in the same condition as I was. I will be staying again for the 2015 Death Race & hope to make it there, other times. It's a must stay for families & for the man who wants to impress is sweetheart.

Thanks again Simon & Jessica

50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration

  • 5 of 5

For those who like to kick back and relax in the comforts of country style and Vermont charm, the Amee Farm Lodge is an ideal venue! Our friends & family had a great time celebrating our parents’ 50th Wedding Anniversary with a special dinner and a few days of visiting. The complimentary breakfast was very much appreciated and a very large deck, Adirondack chairs, fire pit, pond, and an across the street farm & trails made for the perfect balance of relaxing & nearby exploring! Very nice!
