Air Conditioned Condo, 2 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

We would love to welcome you to our condo. It is located in the very heart of Vaison-la-Romaine, only a few moments away from shops, boulangeries, cafes and restaurants; the famous Tuesday market is literally right out the door.

The condo, which we entirely renovated in 2010, is located on the third floor of our building—providing extensive, eye-popping views of the ancient Roman Ruins. (There is a lift, if you prefer not to walk up.) Our own apartment is located just below you on the second floor, so we are nearby if you have questions or need help. We are a French couple, and we love receiving renters from other countries and greatly enjoy having them in Vaison.

Open the double doors in the living room, pull up a chair, and gaze at the ruins while you have your apèro. Or if you prefer, there is a very large, comfortable shaded terrace with seating area and coffee table, plus a large table and chairs for meals. The condo is spacious—1,100 sq ft. The living and dining areas are very large and are furnished with authentic, Provencal walnut antiques. The television (with English language channels) is in the living room. The dining table seats 6-8 comfortably.

We have a fireplace in the living room; on cool evenings we would be happy to have a fire burning for you when you return from the day’s activities, if you would like.

In warm weather, “volets” (shutters) are used in Provence on the doors and windows help keep rooms cool; we also have air conditioning in the living and dining areas, plus in the bedrooms. The terrace has a large shade so it is a great place to relax. In Provence it is also unusual to have a large terrace in the center of town.

We have two large air conditioned bedrooms, each equipped with its own very classy and modern Italian tiled bathroom. Each bathroom has a large, comfortable shower (no tiny French shower enclosures here) and a hair dryer is supplied. Beds are 140 cm ( 56“.) An additional powder room is next to the kitchen.

A laundry room has a clothes washer. The well-equipped kitchen is close to the terrace, providing easy access for outdoor meals. We restored the condo with the highest quality, and are proud to offer it to you. When you reserve our condo, we will send you a list of shops in the area, and a list of the best restaurants, prepared by our friend, food critic and teacher (and part-time local resident,) Patricia Wells.

Our rental fees vary by season, and are all inclusive, unlike most other French rentals. We do not charge any additional fees for bed or bath linens, for wifi, or housekeeping.

The condo is entirely non-smoking, and it is not appropriate for children.

Exquisite vacation rental

We spent a week here and would love to have stayed longer. One of the great highlights of our first trip to France. The apartment is exactly as promised in the listing, in fact it exceeded our expectations. It is beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable, and in a perfect location. The view of the Roman ruins is breathtaking. Everything you need is just a short walk away, including several restaurants and a supermarket. The owners are a wonderful and welcoming couple who made us feel at home immediately. They were always available to help with anything, including suggestions on things to see in the area. This is a beautiful region of Provence, and the property is well situated for day-trips to places like Avignon, Pont du Gard, Mont Ventoux, the Luberon, etc. I will highly recommend this property to friends!!

Unforgettable Experience

The Vivianis have created a lovely home and very welcoming atmosphere. The unit itself was charming, perfectly tidy, very clean, and stocked with everything we could ever need. The location is outstanding - overlooking the ruins and one block from shopping, cafes, and the Vaison weekly market! Jean-Claude and Colette, however, are the real reason for coming. They took us in, treated us like family, and made our trip truly memorable. The fridge was stocked with Colette's homeade apricot jam, a fire was waiting for us when we arrived on a chilly March evening, Colette and and Jean-Claude cooked an amazing meal for us (escargot, cheese plate, the works!), and together they provided tips on where to go, what to see. We will return to Vaison - to visit these wonderful new friends and stay in their cozy home again.

What a wonderful place to stay

Our best experience we had in our trip to europe. Vaison la romaine is such a beautiful place to visit, and believe me when you open yours windows you are back to roman time.
The accomodation is absolutly incredible, the owners are more than friendly, they are always availbale to help you and advise you.
The place is modern with a beautiful fireplace, well equiped kitchen and in a very quiet area althought you are in the center of the city.
We would recommand this place to all our friends.

What a fantastic property with the most amazing hosts in this most beautiful region of Southern France.
Everything in this stunning apartment that you could possibly require with all windows opening to the incredible view of the ancient roman ruins. We (two couples) had a wonderful time..we were pleasantly surprised with the size and location of the property..the pictures don't do it justice! The property was very clean and well maintained. The owners were simply the BEST....we would love to make a return trip as soon as possible. We appreciate the cheese and wine upon our arrival and the special evening that we shared with the owners and their guests.
