VINTAGE HOLLYWOOD! EATS, SHOPS, CLUBS, SIGHTS, WALK TO IT ALL!

Hollywood Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

This is the perfect place to enjoy all that Hollywood has to offer. Walking distance to Hollywood and Highland, Mann Chinese Theater, Hollywood Walk of Fame, The Cinerama Dome, Amoeba Music, tons of restaurants, bars and nightclubs - there is literally no chance you will ever be bored in this neighborhood.

The apartment is gigantic - over 850 square feet. There is a ton of room for everything with two closets, shelves and drawers for all your stuff. There are lots of areas to relax and enjoy. First of all the private balcony gives you a birds eye view of the neighborhood and the lush garden below.

The master bedroom features a super comfortable queen size bed, DirecTV, DVD player, iPOD dock and original artwork. Moving further in there is a guest room with a desk and a futon couch that folds out into a queen size bed. That room also features original artwork and double doors that open out onto the private balcony. I'd count the guest room and the porch as the "living area" - they work best together with the doors open.

The kitchen has a large breakfast nook and vintage stove. Pots, pans, silverware, a toaster, microwave, coffee pot, kettle, everything you need to prepare basic meals if you enjoy cooking - although there are numerous restaurants to suit every budget within walking distance and many of them deliver as well.

It's clean, it's comfortable, it's safe, it's fun, and it's in a great location. There is also a NEW SECOND APARTMENT downstairs. Please click the ALL MY RENTAL LISTINGS LINK (under rate info) for the description and profile. You may be able to rent both - nice for groups traveling together!

My son and I live in the front house and I thought it would be fun to leave one of the two units in back available for friends and family to visit from out of town and also double as a vacation rental. I work in entertainment cutting commercials for television shows and movies and my son goes to preschool in the neighborhood and is very excited about turning five. I've lived in the neighborhood for six years and when this property went up for sale I had to get it because I love the neighborhood and the oranges are the best I've ever had. There are also a number of fig trees, hot peppers, pomegranates, lemons, and flowers.

I grew up in LA and before I became an editor I drove a cab for a while so needless to say I know the city quite well and can provide suggestions of fun things to do and places to go.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2011

Again the neighborhood is the big draw. It's walking distance to so many great places and although some areas in Hollywood can be somewhat gritty and urban, our corner is very friendly and the neighbors are great. Fountain Ave can get pretty busy at times but somehow our corner maintains an authentic, eccentric, almost small town vibe. When my brother and I were building the gate we decided to leave the diamonds open to talk with the neighbors. Across the street is a community garden and there is a club of elementary school kids who trade vegetables with me for fruit. It's a lot of fun.

The history of the property is interesting as well. I am only the third owner since 1915 when the main house was built. It was one of the first in the neighborhood. A Greek family bought it in the 70s and the father was the one who established the community garden across the street. Apparently he used to go across the street and gather ingredients while he was cooking. Neighbors come by and tell stories about him - I guess he was a bit of a character.

When I was looking at it it just felt like the kind of place I'd want my son to grow up and invite my friends and family to come over and enjoy.

First of all the great value is a unique benefit. One of the main drawbacks for visiting Hollywood for my friends and family coming from out of town was staying in hotels. For the same layout at the W hotel nearby they are currently charging 899/night - yikes! Of course the W is very fancy and corporate and whatnot and if you enjoy that sort of thing you should definitely call them and not book this vacation rental. However if you are looking for a more authentic neighborhood experience with all the benefits of the same great, fun, location - then this rental would be an excellent value.

This rental is also a great place to travel with your pet. We like animals on June st. I have two cats and dog. Delongpre Park is one block away and everyone brings their dogs in the morning. A restaurant named Cat and Fiddle is walking distance and dog friendly - they provide water bowls and snacks.

Great Winter Get Away in West Hollywood!!!

We stayed here 5 nights and loved it. Very spacious for a couple and the extra room with the futon came in handy when our 23 year old daughter came up to visit us from the Bay Area for one night. The kitchen had everything that we needed, the parking spot was convenient and the washer and dryer were an added bonus. So much nicer and less expensive than staying in a hotel!

The location was outstanding and close to everywhere we wanted to go. Griffith Park, Silver Lake, Runyon Canyon Park, Sunset Blvd. restaurants and clubs, Beverly Hills, Burbank (we saw the Conan O'Brien Show).

Alex is great, very resourceful and so easy to work with. We will definately stay here again when in LA. The weather was so nice in January (70's). I wish we were there now! It's snowing at home!

Stayed here for 10 days and liked it a lot. The location is amazing and is near many great restaurants and stores.
Owner let me park in front of garage for free, you will find that to be quite an amazing luxury in LA.
There was also a washer and dryer in the garage you can use.
Although it is near a train station and some bus lines, you may still need a car to get around the city.

Some great restaurants you can walk to:
Grub
Providence
Hatfields
In-N-Out Burger
Roscoe's Fried Chicken and Waffles
Trois Mec
Osteria Mozza
Osteria Pizzeria
Rao's

Great restaurants that are a short drive or a $15 or less cab ride away:
Ink
Animal
Red Medicine
Son of a Gun
Salt's Cure
Blu Jam Cafe

There's also a lot of cool bars and comedy clubs in the area. Cabs are fairly easy to come by if you need one.
I recommend this place, especially if you are just one or two people.

Perfect Location

It as my first visit to Hollywood, and I was traveling with my daughter (age 12). Safety was naturally a concern. The fact that the owner lives just next door was a comfort. He is very accommodating and even helped me park my car (I am not great at parallel parking on the street-the only parking available) but he was very sweet and helped me with that. The rooms were clean, and it was nice being able to walk to the attractions.

Perfect Hollywood Spot

If you want to see the sights of Hollywood, but still have a place that feels more like a home and not a hotel, this is the spot for you! We loved having a full kitchen, bath, bedroom and side room with a futon/patio. A friend and I stayed here and it was a perfect spot to get to all the sights. The description is accurate, just blocks from the metro train and the walk of stars. If you want to see other spots around LA, you'll need a car but this place was centrally located. The photos are accurate and we ate at the Italian place on the list of places to eat...delicious! You can hear traffic but it wasn't awful...just know you won't have total silence at night. We didn't have a car so we used the metro to get around and it was easy to navigate!

Great location near all the Hollywood attractions as well as public transit. We walked almost everywhere even though we had a car. Property felt a bit like stepping back in time due to architecture and vintage stove, but so comfortable! Add to this plenty of space to spread out. So much nicer than staying in a nearby motel and at a bargain price! A little bit of city noise, but perfectly tolerable. Thanks Alex! Hope we can do another long weekend soon.
