This was the second time we have stayed at this rental. It is a wonderful get-away. Everything is there that you need. Private, quiet and pet friendly. We come to snowmobile and the location is perfect to do that. Owners are so easy to work with. Again, I say...."We are looking forward to coming back next year"
My fiance and I rented this cabin for a couple of nights over the New Years, and it was the perfect place to unwind and spend time together. I can't remember the last time I felt so relaxed!
The accommodations were spacious, property very peaceful, and every detail was thought out. The kitchen is fully stocked with every cooking utensil you can think of (including a griddle), living room had comfortable furniture and a beautiful fireplace, bathrooms had plenty of towels, and every inch of the cabin was spotless and decorated with unique artwork. Carol even called us to make sure that we made it there okay, answered all of my questions, and let us add an extra night when we didn't want our vacation to end.
We enjoyed taking daily walks with our dog around the property, reading books by the fire, and met friends at Turtle Creek Casino one night, which is a surprisingly short drive away.
We have rented several places in Northern Michigan, and this is the first time that I have been compelled to write a review for two reasons: 1) This is, by far, the best place we have rented. 2) We almost stayed in a different rental because of the negative review that someone posted. I'm so glad we didn't! We did not experience any of the issues mentioned in the negative review. In fact, it snowed during our entire visit and we did not have a single issue navigating the roads. The washing machine and bathrooms were in good repair, and there was more than enough hot water.
I cannot thank Carol enough for sharing this beautiful spot with us. We hope to visit again soon with our cross country skis :)
This was our first time renting, and I must say that everything was perfect. If your looking for peace and solitude, you can't ask for anything better. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had. I hope to make a week of it next year.
This Chalet Retreat was everything we were looking for, plus more. If you enjoy northern Michigan this is the perfect place to stay. Secluded but not rustic by any means. We were able to snowmobile right from the chalet. Not having to trailer to a drop site is so convenient. The homeowners were great to work with - My husband is already planning a return visit for next winter! Thanks again, Carole - we had a wonderful time.
Very Inconsiderate - Owners did not have to path to the cabin shoveled (12 inches plus) snow to get to the cabin -My husband did that after driving 13 hours. . . Nor did the road to the cabin get snow plowed everyday as they stated it would, which lead to us getting stuck a couple of times. . . . Very small hot water tank which ran out of hot water daily; Toilets would not flush unless the plunger was used, washing machine is rusted - unusable (well I wasn't putting my cloth in it) and the sheets on the downstairs bed were not clean when we arrived. Cabin and view are beautiful but would not recommend renting due to the poor up keep and owner indifference.
Property is located in a beautiful wooded setting on 2 private lakes providing many of its own activities including hiking, fishing, attached snowmobile trails and cross-country skiing.
