VERMONT LAKESIDE RENTAL, QUIET BEAUTY - LOTS OF ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE YR. ROUND

North Hero Condo Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4- More If Children

This is a large property at the end of a quiet road, with a 30X60 patio on the lake for sunning, relaxing, entertaining and evening campfires. The patio is equipped with comfortable lounge furniture, a gas barbeque, and tables for eating as well as a fire pit for long evenings by the fire. The views from the patio include amazing sunrises, waterfowl, and the lights of St. Albans, Vermont in the distance. Although the lake affords all types of water sports, this area is quiet and mostly used by the residents of this private summer community, respectful of their neighbor's need for solitude. The private dock will keep your boat near at hand for spontaneous outings. There is a sand beach within walking distance for you to enjoy. Your vacation will be made even more enjoyable by the furnishings, decor and amenities of your rental, including central air if you need it. We have thought of everything, including games, stereo system, cable TV, video and lending library. Come and enjoy.

The Champlain Islands: Possibly the most beautiful spot on the planet, with so many things to do- you won't know what to do first. The Lake Champlain Islands have more shoreline and islands than any other part of Vermont. Here a traveler may come upon breathtaking views at any bend in the road. Located between two great cities, Montreal, Quebec and Burlington, Vermont, our small towns and stunning scenery offer quiet rural charm. Enjoy lakeside dining, hiking and biking trails, as well as year-round fishing, boating and golf. Sample local cheeses, chocolate and wines. Feast in autumn on apples, cider and pies, while shopping for antiques and mementos. Explore one of the world's oldest coral reefs, New England's oldest log cabin, and other historic sites. Or bask on a sandy beach in one of our private beaches or State Parks. Stay a day, a week or a lifetime!

Three of my friends from high school and I take a trip every summer. We usually choose a place near the water where we can do a little fishing and relax. Irene's place was perfect. The patio by the lake was great for hanging out by the water and grilling out for dinner. We rented canoes from the North Hero Marina and went fishing most days. We had a great time!

We are a family of four with two teenage boys, and we are all outdoorsy. The Heron's Nest rental was perfectly situated for our daily kayaks, bike rides, swims and runs. Irene has provided a great binder of information including farmer's market dates, bike routes around the islands, and local happenings - and we took advantage of almost all of them! On the less-than-perfect weather days, we took trips to Montreal and Burlington, and also to Waterbury to hike in the Green Mountains and visit some local breweries. The space was clean and comfortable for the four of us, and the basket of goodies (wine, cheese and fresh garden fare) was a wonderful way to be greeted after an eight hour drive. Definitely consider this for a total relaxation experience.
Owner's Response: Thanks Kathy! I really love this whole area and I am delighted when a beautiful family like yours can come and enjoy all that the Islands have to offer. Please feel free to contact me for future dates. The Fall is a very lovely time here and maybe a weekend get-away is in your future. Stay well. Thanks again.

Irene's Gateway is simply perfect.

The cottage is clean, comfortable with and amazing view and you'll find just everything you'll need for your vacation.... and MORE!

Irene is like an Angel. She's always smiling and available if you need anything. She's an encyclopedia of things to do around and where to go to eat/shop/have fun.

I highly recommand this place for your next vacation and I'll go back for sure this summer with my familly to enjoy the beach and the location.

Thank you for everything Irene!

We stayed at the house in mid-August and it was a very nice experience. The owner is very helpful and we will definitely come back again in the future.

*Pictures - the pictures shown here are accurate. What you can't see is the surrounding nature reserve which is amazing.
*Cleanliness - the house, beds, bathrooms, kitchens, washer/dryer were all clean.
*Customer service - the owners are very helpful! She left a big binder filled with information for us, was available over the phone at all times, and even left a delicious snack for us upon our arrival.
*Activities - 10 minutes to the beach. Markets with plenty of fresh produce everywhere

We arrived Saturday evening to a very cozy and beautiful home with a bottle of local wine waiting for us in the refrigerator accompanied with a plate of fine cheeses and berries from the local farmers market. We were left alone to get settled in on the first night which was much appreciated. The owner checked up on us the very next morning to help us plan the activities we wanted to do during the week. We cooked delicious meals in the fully equipped kitchen and bbq grill outside. We definitely loved collecting delicious vegetables from Irene’s personal garden to make fresh salads for dinner. We played board games by the fire place and enjoyed the beautiful view from the patio which was filled with different types of seating. The T.V. had cable which although we tried to avoid was greatly used by our teenage daughter.
Owner's Response: Thanks Aleksandr! You were delightful guests and it was a pleasure knowing you were enjoying so many of the wonderful aspects of the islands. I hope you will come again and make additional good memories for you and your family. Stay well. Irene
