VERMONT LAKESIDE RENTAL, QUIET BEAUTY - LOTS OF ACTIVITIES AVAILABLE YR. ROUND

North Hero Condo Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4- More If Children

This is a large property at the end of a quiet road, with a 30X60 patio on the lake for sunning, relaxing, entertaining and evening campfires. The patio is equipped with comfortable lounge furniture, a gas barbeque, and tables for eating as well as a fire pit for long evenings by the fire. The views from the patio include amazing sunrises, waterfowl, and the lights of St. Albans, Vermont in the distance. Although the lake affords all types of water sports, this area is quiet and mostly used by the residents of this private summer community, respectful of their neighbor's need for solitude. The private dock will keep your boat near at hand for spontaneous outings. There is a sand beach within walking distance for you to enjoy. Your vacation will be made even more enjoyable by the furnishings, decor and amenities of your rental, including central air if you need it. We have thought of everything, including games, stereo system, cable TV, video and lending library. Come and enjoy.

The Champlain Islands: Possibly the most beautiful spot on the planet, with so many things to do- you won't know what to do first. The Lake Champlain Islands have more shoreline and islands than any other part of Vermont. Here a traveler may come upon breathtaking views at any bend in the road. Located between two great cities, Montreal, Quebec and Burlington, Vermont, our small towns and stunning scenery offer quiet rural charm. Enjoy lakeside dining, hiking and biking trails, as well as year-round fishing, boating and golf. Sample local cheeses, chocolate and wines. Feast in autumn on apples, cider and pies, while shopping for antiques and mementos. Explore one of the world's oldest coral reefs, New England's oldest log cabin, and other historic sites. Or bask on a sandy beach in one of our private beaches or State Parks. Stay a day, a week or a lifetime!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Irene,

We just wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay in your lovely lakeside apartment. It was so well arranged and equipped that we didn't have to worry about a thing for our whole vacation. The swimming, boating and fishing were wonderful and, afterwards, we always felt so relaxed. We relished preparing great meals using the fresh Island produce in your kitchen and fish or steaks on the barbeque and then eating on the terrace while watching the light change on the beautiful lake. Perfect ends to perfect days.

We also appreciated your recommendations for all the local attractions like the Lipizzaner Horses, interesting antique shops and wonderful local restaurants. Everyone that you recommended was so welcoming and we certainly look forward to our next visit to the Islands.

Needless to say, we intend to repeat our stay in your lakeshore apartment.

Yours truly,

Lenore and John Ledman

Exception lakefront home with just the right amoun

  • 5 of 5
We are a family of five with three young children (13months -5years) with a lab puppy. Irene was amazing; she provided just the right amount of personal touch with a house warming basket (wine fruit and cheese local to VT) Loved it!!! Followed by a personal visit to ensure we were all set. The accommodations were very comfortable and clean. We had everything we needed and more. The views, the lake and the outdoor patio cannot be beat! The kids and I loved taking the paddle boat out in the evenings to view the sunsets and have a last min. swim.
This is the place if you really want to enjoy your family or love in a private quiet and beautiful setting. The house the location cannot be beat in the middle of it all while being away from it all. The host and the love is what makes us want to return next year.

A BIG thank you to you Irene, keep up the wonderful hospitality and you will have a house bustling with happy souls.

Owner's Response: Thanks Cole. It makes me so happy when I can share this beautiful area, especially with families and young children. The lake is perfect for little ones, with a gradual slope and the fun that can be had on that very stable paddle boat. And the area is loaded with things that they enjoy, farms, animals, foods and all good things. Your family is delightful and I hope to see you all again in the future. Stay well and be happy.

Glorious views, peaceful sunrises and sunsets!

  • 5 of 5
This condo - the downstairs part pictured - is very large, clean, and comfortable, with a well furnished kitchen and laundry room. But the real power of this property is the patio - huge, with tables, chairs, chaises, and bbq - and a panoramic view of the lake for miles. We sat and watched it as often as we could, when we weren't pedaling the fun pedal boats across it. The neighborhood is private, peaceful and absolutely friendly, and we could get to grocery markets, farmer's markets, and cafes easily, with plenty of water views along the way. Don't miss North Hero House and the wonderful treasure, Hero's Welcome.

Owner Irene, who lives upstairs, is the consummate hostess, and we were welcomed with one of our favorite local wines, delicious cheeses and bread from the wonderful local farmer's market. Simply a lovely place to stay at any time.

Great Location For Fishermen

  • 4 of 5
We had a great time and a great location. Most of our time was spent on the water Bass fishing. There are a number of launches within 3 or 4 miles of the cottage.

The only concerns we had are as follows. 1.The refrigerator leaked internally and the door shelf bars were held together with duct tape but the frig still kept everything cold. 2. The photos need to be updated. Everything pictured is there but much of it has been moved around. 3. The small bedroom needs a dresser with empty drawers.

The view out over the water is wonderful and there is a large yard.

We would recommend this rental and we would consider staying there in the future.

Owner's Response: Hi Andrew, I am so sorry that you did not mention any of those concerns to me while you were here so that I could have addressed them. In passing conversations you always seemed pleased with your accommodations. I believe I explained that the place had been renovated and that the pictures were the older ones, and yes they do need to be updated to show the improvements. Thank you for reminding me about a bureau in the smaller bedroom. No one has ever mentioned it before- but I will certainly rectify the situation as soon as my guests leave. Have a great winter and be sure to come back and see your suggestions implemented.

great place by the water

  • 5 of 5
Three of my friends from high school and I take a trip every summer. We usually choose a place near the water where we can do a little fishing and relax. Irene's place was perfect. The patio by the lake was great for hanging out by the water and grilling out for dinner. We rented canoes from the North Hero Marina and went fishing most days. We had a great time!

Perfectly located and great for outdoor lovers

  • 5 of 5
We are a family of four with two teenage boys, and we are all outdoorsy. The Heron's Nest rental was perfectly situated for our daily kayaks, bike rides, swims and runs. Irene has provided a great binder of information including farmer's market dates, bike routes around the islands, and local happenings - and we took advantage of almost all of them! On the less-than-perfect weather days, we took trips to Montreal and Burlington, and also to Waterbury to hike in the Green Mountains and visit some local breweries. The space was clean and comfortable for the four of us, and the basket of goodies (wine, cheese and fresh garden fare) was a wonderful way to be greeted after an eight hour drive. Definitely consider this for a total relaxation experience.
