About Britt Brumley
Our family began vacationing on the Outer Banks in the 1970's. My parents bought their first 'beach box' around 1980. After squeezing 13+ adults and children into the tiny cottage they decided to build their retirement home just down the street. They built two other cottages to rent over the years and later moved to a smaller home. In the late1990's my three sons and I moved to the Outer Banks. I assisted my father in managing the family cottage business. In 2006, I purchased this cottage for my sons and I and over the years I have continued to remodel a bit at a time. So each year there is something new to search for at the cottage.
Britt Brumley purchased this cottage in 1996
Why Britt Brumley chose Nags Head
My sons and I have always loved this cottage, most of all because of it's warmth and character which began with my parents design. Our favorite room in the house as we say is the second floor deck. Even on those cold blustery days in winter it is such a peaceful place to sit back in the swing and enjoy the sounds of the ocean.
What makes this cottage unique
The Nags Head location is centrally located to all the best the Outer Banks has to offer. Great food, entertainment, family friendly beaches and a wide variety of activities. You can't miss a walk up Jockey's Ridge, which can even be seen from the Space Station.
This cottage is a great place to create wonderful family memories and traditions. Whenever our family visits the cottage we have two traditions that are a must. The first is taking our morning stroll along to seaside to the Nags Head Pier and back before breakfast. The second is we never depart without having a large last night fresh seafood dinner send off. We have two of the best locally caught fresh seafood shops to choose from in the area, they are Austin's Seafood at MP 11.5 and Billy's Seafood a short drive down Collington Road at MP 8.
Our time at the beach house with family and friends is a wonderful way for us to continue to connect while building fabulous memories together.
