Northern Belle is a charming cottage located on St. Simon's Island's favorite beach. It's a beach cottage you'll never forget. The ambiance is enhanced by high ceilings, nautical antiques, quilts, floor to ceiling bookcases, 4 bedrooms with private baths, washer/dryer and cable TV. Neighborhood amenities include two private swimming pools and of course the private beach entrance, sun deck and pavilion. Coast Cottage Lane has been featured numerous times in Coastal Living Magazine and HGTV.

Northern Belle is a charming, delightful and colorful cottage completely furnished and ready to enjoy. Located within Coast Cottages, the best vacation spot on St. Simon's Island, Northern Belle has Caribbean Pine floors, master bedroom with queen bed and private bath, plus bedroom 2 has 1 double bed with attached bath which is shared by bedroom 3 which has 2 double beds. Bedroom 4 has a comfy queen bed with attached bath. Total of 3 full baths.

Northern Belle has a wonderful kitchen with breakfast counter seating six and dining area plantation table seating six, floor to ceiling bookcases, large gathering room with sofas, chairs, game table, desk and cable TV.

Coast Cottage Lane is a brick paved, tree lined street leading to St. Simons finest beach, with two private pools, large sun deck and covered pavilion as well as private access to St. Simon's widest stretch of sand. All just a few minutes stroll from your front door! Here you can walk the beach at low tide, high tide ... any tide! (Note: vacation rentals south of Arnold Road cannot make this claim.)

St. Simons Island is sometimes described as a little piece of paradise. Scarcely known outside Georgia, it is quite possibly the best kept secret along the coastal Southeast. The island's majestic entrance over miles of unspoiled marshland was memorialized by Sidney Lanier in his poem The Marshes of Glynn. It's a place where an unpretentious low country meets the great ocean ... where huge tidal changes breathe life into the grassy expanse flourishing in wildlife. Somewhere in between you will discover the magic of St. Simons Island. Upon arrival, visitors are enveloped by a feeling of calm amidst ancient moss-draped oaks standing alongside glorious palms and tall southern pines. Many miles of bike paths connect a variety of shopping, eating, cultural and recreational areas within the island. There's always something fun and interesting to do. The beach at St. Simons Island is like no other. As the 7-foot tide shifts from high to low, it pulls the shoreline 1/2 mile out to sea uncovering a breathtaking system sandbars and shoals. Development is largely unseen along the north end of the beach where an abundant shrub forest has been protected and allowed to expand naturally. Acres of young dune fields nurture sensitive Sea Oats while thousands of shore birds migrate from one sand bar to the next with the receding tide. Best Vacation Ever at Northern Belle

Our first time on St.Simons was definitely a success. Celebrating several milestone anniversaries and birthdays, we had a diverse group but everyone thought our time at Northern Belle was fabulous. The property was immaculate when we arrived,and provided a wonderful setting for the Low Country Boil we hosted Sunday evening. We found the kitchen well-equipped and perfect for socializing also in the Gathering Room. Everyone seemd to have enough privacy with the arrangement of bedrooms & baths. Some of us golfed and scuba dived, others rode bikes which afforded us a way to see parts of the island up close ... the Lighthouse...the Coast Gurad Station ... East Beach community...the Village. A great location! We walked on the beach early in the day to take advantage of the cool temps and tide pool activities and creatures. The accessibilty to the 2 pools was perfect after a hot day at the beach. We even found time to go over to Jekyll 2 days to have lunch at the Jekyll Island Club, explore Driftwood Beach, go to the Turtle Center, shop & splash around at the Water Park. We loved the Coastal Cottages community and found Patrick & Co. very accessible. We can't wait to go back!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: Northern Belle flows beautifully at meal time, especially if you like to serve buffet style on the extra long center island . The kitchen, dining and living areas are all part of one big room making it perfect for family gatherings.

Very Clean Cottage

We stayed at this cottage the week of May 28 thru June 4 and had a great time. The cottage was very clean. Our recommendations would be the bedding situation and not enough televisions. Two of the bedrooms have double sized beds which makes for small beds for couples. Only one bedroom had a television. Our family wanted to watch a movie one night and there were no dvd players in the cottage.
Recommended for:  Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
Owner's Response: Since the Cowden's stay we have installed a new flat screen TV and DVD in the living room.

Not much to talk about. Only two TV's in the house. No internet access. Over run with bugs the last night of our stay. I will not be coming back. Families with little ones or teenagers look elsewhere. Not enough TV's or internet........
Owner's Response: The above review is very old ... from a stay in summer 2008. The bugs were a one time event and are long gone. Since then, we have added high speed internet. The home has been recently painted, the floors refinished, a new porch added,new windows installed, and a new barbecue grill added. Northern Belle Cottage is in pristine condition. If you're looking for a charming, clean and very well maintained beach house on the best part of the beach, you will be thrilled with Northern Belle!
