Not up to standards for rental price
This condo had a great view, but needs some problems fixed as of August, 2012. The screened porch is the best place to appreciate the wonderful lake view, but, unfortunately, it is very dirty and filled with old, mismatched furniture, some of which was broken. The cobwebs and dirt at the top of the porch were unsanitary, the ceiling fan was so filthy that we were afraid to turn it on, there were several holes in the screening, and the "sunshade" was grimy and in disrepair. If we have to pay a cleaning fee, then the entire space should show evidence of having actually been cleaned.
Owner's Response: At Lake Ozark Vacation Destinations, the satisfaction of our guests is our highest priority and we only work with property owners that agree! We ensure our properties are furnished, cleaned, maintained, and inspected to high standards. After 6 years in business, this is the first review we have had with a rating of less than 4 or 5 stars in any of our properties.
We have had a full schedule of guests all Summer in this condo that found the deck and it's furniture to be nothing short of satisfactory including the guests that checked out just before this group arrived. However, as a result of this review, the condo owners are going to shop for new furniture while at the Lake this weekend (Aug 24), and we have scheduled the Deck to be power washed as soon as possible in addition to the annual Spring power washing.
Since I sincerely feel this review paints an unfair picture, I'd like to provide a brief background...
After our guests checked out, I received a request for compensation because they "experienced coughing and sneezing which resulted in their need to take Benadryl". While happy with the cleanliness inside the condo, blame was placed on the screened-in deck outside as the source of the problem. Since I had recently inspected the condo and deck personally, I politely brought it to their attention that they may be overlooking that there were currently Allergy Alerts included with the Weather Reports and Forecasts for the area and provided them the weather.com link to reference.
I also explained that the deck was furnished as it was photographed in our advertising. Again, "old and mismatched" paint an unfair picture. Nothing was broken short of a single back support on a bar stool with multiple back supports.
They weren't happy when I declined to compensate them, and their negative review followed promptly.
I'd also like to point out that neither the person who requested compensation (Carol) or the author of this review (Susan) were the person who coordinated the stay with me and completed and signed the rental agreement (Karen). The Rental Agreement begins with a request that I be contacted immediately if, upon arrival any issues are found so they can be promptly addressed. In the case they had contacted me upon arrival or during their stay, I'd have been able and happy to correct the issues they found on the deck within an hour.
