We live in Atlanta but have two vacation rentals in Monroe County Tennessee catering to adventurous folks, like us, are looking for seclusion and solitude in the Cherokee National Forest and the cool mountain air. hemlockgrovedotcom.
Lee purchased this cottage in 2005
We own a cabin nearby. We purchased the vacation rentals because of their location and to help promote the scenery of Monroe Country Tennessee.
Gorgeous views. Light, spacious house. Restful setting. Clean and comfortable! Great motorcycling, hiking, mountain biking, boating, fishing or just plain old relaxing. Bountiful birds and wildlife. Free wifi and long distance telephone through Magic Jack. Garage to store kayaks, bikes, motorcycles, canoes, boats etc.
THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL STAY!!!
We are so extremely happy that we found this house! With it being big enoughf for all of us (3 grown ups and 4 children), clean like my own home (and I'm a little of a neat-freak), very welcoming and with a very well kept yard for the children to play in, this vacation rental is the best we have stayed at! The area was really good too and though it takes a little drive to get to a store, the calmness is so worth it. We will definitly come back next time we go to TN, absolutly positivly no doubt about that!
We waited really late to get reservations in Gatlinburg, but found this at the last minute. It's very quiet and off the beaten track. It worked well for us to go out on day trips and come back to in the evening. Very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. My husband enjoyed playing his banjo on the porch without bothering anyone. Lee was very helpful with directions and tips for the house and navigating the surrounding area. There is plenty of room for a large family or group to spread out in. We appreciate them letting us stay there on such short notice.
The home is well taken care of, clean and complete with everything (except food). 3 bedrooms, living room, complete kitchen, laundry room, garage, phone, internet, DirecTV means you'll have all the luxuries and conveniences of home. There is even a nice, large deck outback with grill for those late night hangouts. The garage is a bonus if you have bikes.
When you exit the driveway...turn left and about a mile down is a place to swim. It's a private area with a place to park. There is plenty of sightseeing, boating, swimming, fishing areas as well as The Dragon for motorcyclists.
If there is one minor inconvenience..it's the fact that the closest store is 16 miles. Suggestion.....load up.
Lee is exceptional to work with and his attention to detail is unsurpassed.

Our group of three motorcyclists take a trip out to this area every year. Normally, we stay in hotels for the 3-4 nights we are in town. This time however, we decided to stay a longer time and felt like this property was the best bang for the buck.
Lee was a pleasure to deal with as we discussed our trip with him. We explained we would be coming in with a truck and a trailer and this property was an excellent fit for our needs. We had a slight hiccup upon arrival with the water, but a quick phone call over to Lee and we were up and running no problem.
The house is supplied with ample amenities such as towels, sheets, silverware, etc. We enjoyed the ability to cook a home cooked meal instead of the usual fast food or dine in every night.
The area is very remote and that is just what we were looking for. The house does have Internet, landline telephones, and a TV with a satellite package. Verizon cell coverage was spotty at best, but that's not a negative when you are on a vacation! The nearest town was about 20-30 minutes away and had full cell coverage, gas station, supermarket, etc.
Overall this was a great place to stay and a pleasure dealing with the property owners. I would recommend staying at this property to a friend as well as dealing with the property owners.
Just a perfect place for out of the way stay. House is very well stocked and Lee makes sure you have all you need. The garage is a plus for the bikes. Plan to stay again. Thanks Lee!!
We really enjoyed out stay. The home was very welcoming, even had a nice gift basket left for us to enjoy. It was totally as described on the site; a large roomy kitchen, nice comfy living area, nice large yard, very clean. Had everything we needed. It would have been nice to have had another TV in the bedroom for when my husband wanted to watch "his" likes- while I like watching movies- lol. Other than that- it was very nice & comfortable. We did not actually "STAY" at the home very much- we were on the road doing day trip, but this was a nice place to come 'home' to in the evenings. We did not cook much at all,or use the grill or anything- but had very nice breakfasts there in the nice large kitchen. Did enjoy our coffee on the deck. We did not see any wild life- I was hoping to see a bear- one previous guest had said he had seen one= but we did not see any deer or anything. BOO! We would suggest this as a great place for a family to come stay.
House was well maintained and very clean. Excellent size for a family on vacation. Two bedrooms with nice beds and a third with bunk beds. House is located between Tellico and Chilhowee lake. Directly across the river is US 129 close to the start of the Dragon rout up to the Smoky Mountains. Tellico Plains on the upper Tellico river has a nice beach with very cool water and Bald river falls. It is worth the drive. We had a great time at this house.
We have a central proximity to Highway 129 and the Cherohola Skyway, favorite scenic highway day trips for world class scenic drives. HWY 360 & Tail of the Dragon!
