Great property, easy access

  • 5 of 5

Our extended family stayed here for a week over spring break. The ease of access to the metro made it a breeze to travel around for sight seeing, and the local amenities were perfect for what we required. The home was comfortable, the kitchen terrific for the family meals we made, and everyone slept quite comfortably. Our family spent most of the time out sightseeing, but made nearly all of our meals at the house. This really helped out our bottom line, as restaurant eating with two young children would have been both expensive and stressful. The owners were friendly and helpful during both the reservation process and for our stay. This property made the childrens' first stay in our nation's capitol memorable and fun.

Great location! Wonderful town home!

  • 5 of 5

Three of us (retired adult women) stayed at this clean, comfortable, well-furnished town home during the Cherry Blossom Festival. The location was just great for accessing the Stadium-Armory Metro, the local Safeway and the many restaurants near the Eastern Market Metro stop. While we usually ate only breakfast at the house, the kitchen was well-furnished and cooking more elaborate meals would have been possible. Since all of us are older and have more aches and pains than we used to, the quality of the beds was important to us. All three of the beds we used were quite comfortable, not too hard and not too soft with decent linens as well. The unit has basic cable which was adequate for our needs, but more importantly, wifi was included which was extremely helpful. The layout of the house was great with the living room, kitchen, dining area and powder room on the main floor. Upstairs are two bedrooms and full bath along with a washer and dryer. We were grateful for the washer/dryer since it meant we could pack a little lighter and do some laundry during our stay. We were very happy with this rental, but would advise anyone who has any mobility issues that the entryway to the house includes several stairs and that the stairs to the upstairs are somewhat steep as is common in homes of this vintage. You will find several Metro stops within .5-1.0 miles which allows you to access many, many of the attractions and museums in the Washington, DC area. If you need a taxi, those are easy to find as well. We would certainly return to this unit in the future.

We Loved Our Stay Here

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at this house. The location is very convenient as one can walk to Eastern Market Metro, which is only 5 blocks away. The Smithsonian museums are only a short metro ride away, as is Union Station. The National Zoo is only slightly further, maybe a 15-20 minute metro ride.

The house has a great layout, was very clean, well-stocked, and tastefully furnished.

Our time here was very comfortable and relaxed. There is a Safeway near by to pick up groceries, and restaurants are within an easily walkable 15 minute radius.

The owner was very responsive and got back to us quickly with helpful information.

I would definitely recommend staying here to my friends, and plan to stay here next time I visit DC.

Charming House Close to Major Activities

  • 5 of 5

My family (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed here for four nights over this recent winter holiday. We found the house charming and well-equipped and its location ideal. The management team was also extremely helpful, always available by email and ready with a tip on where to eat or go.

We are walkers, so we found the 40-min walk from the house to the various museums on the mall and elsewhere very doable. We visited the Newseum, Spy Museum, Hirshorn, among others. We heartily recommend the Newseum. The Spy Museum was a bit of a letdown, as its information is poorly coordinated making it hard to mark the evolution in how we approach intelligence gathering. You can take a closer walk to the Capitol or the Capitol Hill area with its shops and the Eastern Market. If you aren't a walker, the metro is near enough that you can make easy use of it.

Perfect for a Family in DC

  • 5 of 5

My husband and 4 kids recently stayed here for a vacation. It really was perfect for us. It was a great location, about a 15 minute walk to Eastern Market where there is a Metro stop and lots of food, allowing us to get anywhere we needed. It was so nice coming to a comforting place after a full day of touring. The owner was ultra easy to work with, always very prompt and informational! The house was very clean when we arrived also.

Great Place to Stay in DC

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable home in a great neighborhood. Everything was walkable for us with the Eastern Market and places to eat, drink coffee and have a drink. The home was clean and as described in the listing. Would be happy to stay there again or recommend to others.
