A Perfect Family Vacation Setting - 7 adults plus dogs!
Loved our time in this beautiful northern WI setting! I highly recommend this as a great vacation spot - if you can manage STAIRS!! Not accessible for disabled people using walkers or wheelchairs (to get to the upper "main level" of the house.) About 7-8 miles north of Tomahawk's food stores, and estimated 50 minutes north to Minocqua for more exploring!
Beautiful sunset views over the lake! We brought our own lawn chairs along to use with their 2 lawn plastic chairs around the backyard fire ring area. [We didn't find any cushions for the deck chairs?] Breezes kept mosquitos away until sunset. Our outside games worked well on the more level, large lawns at the side & front areas, for croquet, bocce ball, ladder toss. Grass was short, but you must still watch for ticks! We found 1 tiny, black deer tick on an exposed ankle while outside on the lawn! Our group swam, went boating, played our inside board games, but a few games were there on the shelf in the "mud room!"
This is a perfect place for ALL ages to spend time together: a large deck & an expansive and open kitchen/dining/ living room area. Great counter space and food storage space. The two bedrooms on main level are separated; they are off opposite ends of the kitchen. The one with twin beds (main level) was next to the main bathroom, in a hall that leads downstairs.
Quiet, lower level family room area is just behind the garage - after the mud room entrance. Lower level has a pull-out couch and also a double bed in a separate room: This kept our late sleepers VERY happy! Luckily we brought 2 electric fans along. Our fans helped the air circulate for improved comfort in the warm, lower area of the home during our hot weather! Upstairs, the A/C was great!
The only thing we missed was NOT having our own 24/7 Wi-Fi access right at the house! Especially since this area's 3G signal is NOT good (seems even lower level?) for smart phones. Two FREE Wi-Fi spots nearby! Both are within a few minutes' walk: Gators Bar & Grill is across (great steak sandwich), and the Twin Bay Resort’s restaurant/bar (with delicious batter cheese curds, plus gyros, sandwiches, pizza and more!) Both places open for lunch at 11 a.m.
