Overview

Steinhatchee Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Living area, 2 full Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Congratulations! You have just found one of the best kept secrets of Florida vacations. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing retreat then you're in the right place.

This cabin has plenty of room for friends and family to enjoy a day of activity outside and a relaxing evening around the campfire.

Bring your canoe or kayak and launch right from the ramp in front of the house and paddle down the creek right to the Gulf. A canoe and kayak are available on site for an additional fee.

You may also bring your own boat for a great weekend of fishing, easy launching from the private ramp at the cabin and store it in the covered slip for the duration of your stay. Our screened fish cleaning house makes cleaning the day's catch convenient. The Gulf is a short, 20-minute boat ride.

Housekeeping services are paid in cash at checkout.

Good get away outdoors

  • 4 of 5

Easy drive I to Steinhatchee for supplies. Perfect campfire setting and access to water. The kayak inland is awesome and the boat ride out to the gulf is short. They didn't name it rock creek for no reason so keep the engines in shallow drive and take your time the first time. The house sleeps 6 easy and is very comfortable. The negative is the field mice in and around the house but considering where the house is I consider that normal for the area - we had our food in tubs. Overall I will be going back to fish when the water warms a little. My 8 year old girl was catching trout in the rive.

Owner's Response: I'm glad you had a nice time. I wasn't aware of the field mice problem but we have already taken steps to get rid of them. Thank you for visiting and I look forward to hearing from you again.

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend, our dog and I stayed in early March for two nights. We had a great time. The house is in the most perfect, peaceful, relaxed setting. Make sure you print directions and the code for the door, as cell service is spotty on the road leading up to the place and nonexistent once you hit the driveway. The house is very nice and we found everything totally clean and well-stocked. We were able to have a campfire, roast marshmallows, hang out on the porch, cook meals in the kitchen, and even watch a movie. The creek is literally right there, and you feel like you're secluded -- but if you suddenly run out of wine, there's a convenience store not far away. The house was clean and welcoming. Vanessa has thought of everything and is incredibly helpful and kind. We will definitely be back.

WEEKEND GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5

Very nice and peacefull. The family and I stayed there this past weekend and had a blast. Between the kids catching blue crabs for dinner one night and a nice fire pit by the creek to sit and relax and wind down from a excellent day out on the water. This rental is more then I had expected. Vanessa was very nice and pleasant and gave me all the information needed about the creek and places to eat. We will be back.

Wonderful property that surpasses expectations!

My boyfriend and I stayed with some friends at this waterfront cabin right off Rocky Creek. It is the most equipped rental you will find in Steinhatchee. There is so much space you can do cartwheels around the whole house :-) There is a screened in porch off the back of the house on the creek which is great for evening time if you want to be away from the bugs but still able to enjoy the the outdoors. There is also a screened in porch next to the dock not to mention yet another screened in area with a sink if you're coming in with fish, scallops, etc. Also outside there is some covered parking, a bonfire area and if you're lucky you'll see adorable rabbits hopping along in the grassy area. Cell service is spotty but you can simply walk down to the end of the driveway or the street to get better reception. The kitchen is fully stocked with any appliances you will need. Note - this cabin runs on well water so its best to bring gallons of water or bottled water for drinking. (Bathing and cooking is fine) It's about a 3 mile ride out to the gulf. There is a very very low bridge that you need to go under on your way out. We have a 19' Tahoe deck boat and did have to put the bimini down. It was fine but you will not be able to get much larger of a boat through I do not think. Overall, we really truly enjoyed this place. It is quiet, serene and just a very nice property that comes with everything you need. If you come frazzled, stressed or needing respite from the stresses of life, you will leave with a renewed and refreshed spirit.

Lucky to Stay

  • 5 of 5

It was a fabulous weekend on the creek!

This place is always a peaceful refuge and inviting escape from the big city. It is clean, comfortable, and has various areas which enable you to read, watch TV and play games, or enjoy the natural outdoors. Morning coffee on the back porch is always a great way to begin the day!

It was a quick creek ride out to the Gulf and our awaiting scallops! Afterward, our boat fit into the slip for easy clean up and unloading. With an additional outdoor shower, a fire pit to sit around, and crickets in the background...we had a wonderful vacation and look forward to our return.

Thanks for a great escape!
