It is with great pleasure that I give a 5 star review for Villa Del Sol, the home that hosted us for our 10th family reunion. This time was my turn to pick the location . I really wanted San Diego, as we all love the ocean and I know from business trips that San Diego is the jewel of the California Coast and as it turned out, the house we picked, Villa Del Sol was the jewel of vacation homes. One issue I was facing in selecting a home was the extreme high standards of Uncle Robert and his partner Gregory. They live in a really upscale loft in Manhattan and are really picky about where they stay. Robert and Gregory must have a superior accommodation. I did a preview visit to Villa Del Sol several months before our dates to be sure there were no surprises. It looked even better than online photos and the video I was sent. When we arrived we made Robert and Gregory wear blindfolds to surprise them and , ( holding breath) they were ecstatic when we walked them from the motor court into the pool courtyard and over by the Palapa Tiki Bar kitchen with the massive ocean view and deck and revealed their vacation house! After a walk around all the six bedrooms,pool table, home theater, home gym and back up to the huge granite kitchen with a Big Screen TV on the wall plus ocean view they , ( Praise Be), declared the place "Perfectly Fabulous." We gave them the gorgeous master bedroom with soaking tub and shower, another big screen TV and huge ocean view deck and the rest of us enjoyed the other 5 nice bedrooms.
The home was extremely clean and looked well cared for. We had perfect weather, high 70s and had jacuzzis and swims and my grandpa really loved having all the putters and balls for the putting green there to beat everyone at some mini golf ( OK they let him win). Can't complain about a thing, the property managers had to come once to fix something and it turned out that the lady who had been so great making our reservations , Jan, made the arrangements to immediately have Kyle their handyman, come over and fix it. I mean she responded immediately. That was pretty great service. So if you can judge by the EPIC time we had and quality of this vacation home , do not hesitate to stay here if you ever get the chance, and try Pt. Loma Seafood restaurant too. We have a great souvenir of our stay at Villa Del Sol, our memories and those Sunset Cliff's sunsets.
