TRULY MAGNIFICENT LAKE HOUSE!

  • 5 of 5
I cannot say enough about this beautiful, hidden gem in the woods of Locke Pond! We were looking to escape from reality for a weekend without having to fly to a cabin out west and we found that in this lake front cabin. The stillness of the environment and quietness of the surrounding woods was unlike anything we would ever be able to experience back home. From the incredibly crafted cabin to the firepit overlooking the lake...this place was beyond peaceful!! The best part about it was that we could explore the town and mountain trails around the area, but then escape back to our cabin when we wanted...all within close proximity! To top it off, the property managers, Dawn and Dennis, were incredibly helpful and thoughtful, making every personal detail of our trip possible. We look forward to returning to this magnificent lake front retreat!

We are so excited to read what a great time our guests had. Each one is very special to us!! And what means a lot is that they are kind enough to take the time to tell you about their fantastic experience. On our VRBO/Home Away website we have lots of picures that show the beauty of the location and home, but nothing means more to us that the kind words of a guest who has enjoyed their stay and would like to come back. So thank you very much for taking your time to write this complimentary review. Dawn Jepson, Property Manager

GREAT VACATION HOME

  • 5 of 5
My family and I spent the last 2 weeks of summer in this beautiful Maine cabin in the woods. The house was immaculate, comfortable and offered everything needed to swim, fish, canoe, roast marshmallows, grill or prepare a meal in the kitchen. My children loved exploring the pond in the paddle boat, fishing from the dock, catching frogs and playing ping pong. We all enjoyed the peacefulness of the wrap around porch, laying in the one of the two hammocks, or rocking in one of the rocking chairs, listening to the loons and watching the birds, including the humming bird we saw on several occasions. At night we would fight over who was going to lay in the window seat to watch one of the many movies available. We took day trips to Bar Harbor, Bangor, Portland and Rangely (in search of moose that we never found), but what we really enjoyed most, was staying on Locke Pond relaxing, playing games and enjoying nature. Dennis and Dawn are wonderful caretakers of this gorgeous home and were available if we needed anything. I would highly recommend this home for a family vacation.

GREAT SPOT, GREAT HOUSE

  • 5 of 5
Great, secluded spot on the lake but hidden from view. House looks new and was immaculate. Quiet and comfortable. Caretakers a couple of doors down and very helpful. Overall a great spot.

THE GREATEST VACATION EVER!

  • 5 of 5
My family and I spent the week at this warm and cozy home. We loved the wrap around porch with the rockers and hammocks. My boys had the greatest time and were never bored, even when it rained! I have triplet 11 year old boys, so that really says a lot.The house was IMMACULATE! All the boats were maintained as was the dock and the landscaping was beautiful. We loved making a campfire and roasting marshmallows. It had all the conveniences of home. One trip to the market and you were good for the week!
The property managers were wonderful , kind and very helpful. We never wanted to leave. I will never forget the peaceful sound of the loons and will try to come back every summer.

QUINTESSENTIAL MAINE VACATION HOME

  • 5 of 5
If you want to stay in the quintessential, Maine Vacation home come here. It is exactly as described and pictured. The home is spacious and immaculate. It is set in a very , private location. The lake is very quiet except for the beautiful call of the loons and an owl at night. A nice bonus is that the property managers live close by if you have any questions or problems. You will not be disappointed, you just won't want to leave.

WE LOVED OUR STAY.

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful week! We absolutely enjoyed the cottage, the surroundings, the pond, the dock, all of the water crafts, and everything else there was to offer. We loved all of the wonderful gestures that you made. It was a wonderful and easy space to walk into and enjoy for the week. On our sunny days, we used the dock, fished, and swam. We were lucky enough to get close to the family of loons, the beaver dam, a turtle, otter, and other wildlife that a larger lake (with more motor crafts) may not offer. On the overcast days, we discovered Farmingham, Wilton, and golfed in a few of the local courses and on the rainy days we lit the fire, read the magazines, played cards, and sipped wine. Thank you so much for a wonderful week. We would love to return next year and we have been spreading the word to other friends and family about how well the cottage has been cared for and how great the surroundings are.
