Welcome to Lazy Days Lodge, a year-round home on Rainbow Lake, a lovely, quiet place 12 miles northwest of Saranac Lake and a 30 minute drive from Lake Placid. It is easy to have fun all four seasons in this well-appointed home. It is 2600 square-feet and is located on a private wooded lot on the the water's edge facing natural parkland. There is 200 feet of shoreline and it offers beautiful views of mountains and the lake.

A swim platform, dock and a wading beach, this home has the best layout to provide access for summer water fun. Two canoes, a paddleboat and a row boat are available for your use, as well as a lean-to with a fire pit right at the water's edge for evening marshmallow roasts. Rainbow Lake interconnects with many other waterways to provide hours of fun. Backing to trails provides unending access to mountain biking, hiking and snowmobiling fun.

Close proximity to Saranac and Placid provide additional fun of Olympic tours, restaurants and shopping.

Our Rainbow lake house is directly on Rainbow lake with one of the few beaches available for water access for young children in the Adirondacks. Rainbow Lake interconnects with over 27 miles of lakes for hours of paddling and boating fun.

We are right next to the Visitor Center at Paul Smiths with great low-impact walks and hikes for all ages. We have close access to 100s of hiking trails, we also back up to a an old railroad trail that currently provides excellent access to mountain biking and hiking and snowmobiling in the winter, connecting all the way into Saranac and Placid.

We are also very close to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid and surrounding amenities for when you've had enough of nature and want a nice dinner, tour the Olympic facilities or to go shopping.

Notes: Someone in a wheelchair could probably be OK on the main floor, the bath isn't wheelchair friendly. We only consider pets in the off-season (Not June-August). We have a high-powered dehumidifier and dust-mite covers on all of the bed to minimize allergens. This is a haven for children, the beach is one of the few in the Adirondacks that allows for easy entry and play in the lake.

Lazy Days Review

What a fantastic rental!!! We had a GREAT week staying at Lazy Days Lodge. Though the weather was chilly, we spent many nights having smores on the beach and reading or playing games by the living room wood stove. This house is well kept with new furnishings and plenty of room for multi generation visits. (we had three grandparents, two parents and three grandchildren) The children loved the rustic bunk beds,the decor was fitting for a lake side home and having the lake view out your window was priceless. How we enjoyed listening each day for the call of the loons. Don't pass up a wonderful place to stay and to create memories that will last forever!

Lazy Days Review

We truly had a wonderful time at "Lazy Days" on Rainbow Lake. The house is specious yet cozy it had everything we needed. The comment was made several times that you could be down by the lake and it felt like we were camping yet you could walk up to the house and had all the comforts of home.

Family Vacation

We stayed here for our family vacation in July 2010, it was fabulous. A great mix of a nice house, great lake and access to lots of things to do- both indoors and outdoors.
We're going back again soon.
