Exceptional location, quality and style. Walk 600 feet west to the beach near Naples Pier or 600 feet east to shopping, restaurants and entertainment on 3rd Street South. The Naples Daily News ran a feature article about us and our home on December 9, 2010 - 'Mystery in its History'. Our home was also featured in a 6 page spread in Naples Illustrated, September, 2011.
We have recently remodeled our Guest House to the highest standards. It is a spacious (720 square foot) 1 bedroom apartment. The great room is of an open plan with comfortable seating and a large bookcase/entertainment center with flat screen TV, DVD player and stereo system. The dining area faces the front windows and patio. The bath has a shower-tower with a rainhead shower and hand-held and multiple body sprays. The bedroom has a king size bed, an antique wardrobe and a dresser-media cabinet.
Highlights include recessed lighting, travertine floors, granite counter tops and a marble kitchen island with breakfast counter. A washer and dryer complete the interior features. The private front patio faces our palm garden. The rear entrance opens to the butterfly garden with a path leading to ample paved parking. The brand new, 30’ x 14’ heated swimming pool has a 30’ x 10’ lap lane with a sun shelf and wide steps to the side.
Our residence in Olde Naples is a contributing structure to the Naples Historic District. The Main House was built in 1912 and The Guest House was added about 1940. The Guest House functioned as a “radio shack” for sophisticated amateur radio. Our remodeling work added central air conditioning and heating and hurricane resistant windows that have both temperature and sound insulating qualities. We are in a quiet residential block yet only a few minutes walk from a spectacular beach and the best of Olde Naples dining and entertainment.
We have two friendly dogs - Poodle and Cavalier King Charles mixed breed. Biscuit and Berkeley are twin brothers, 7 years old.
We have 2 other units available in our cottage, please contact us for more information.
- pets considered
- non smoking only
About The Owner
We first visited Naples in 1993. After staying at a variety of rental properties and hotels we purchased “Hack’s Shack” in 1997. The home was named after one of Naples’ pioneers and leaders. My wife saw the potential beauty before I did. As a design consultant I have spent countless hours endeavoring to remodel the property to modern standards while respecting the home's heritage and character. “Terra Palma”, the new name for our home, is our permanent residence. We’ve also lived in London, England for 4 years and have enjoyed extensive world travel.

Why The Owner chose Old Naples
We have not found a better place to live. We’ve searched throughout the US and Naples is our choice - my catch-phrase for Naples is “quiet sophistication.” We are surrounded by large, beautiful homes in a residential neighborhood. We have everything we need a short distance away and a brief evening walk brings us to a tranquil beach and the best sunsets in America.
What makes this apartment unique
Terra Palma is in a unique location; high rise condos and hotels are far away; streets are bordered by lush vegetation; traffic moves at a leisurely pace and people are very, very friendly. Whether a traveler or a local worker, we are here because we want to be. Conversations with strangers are easily started. Naples continues to charm us every day.
