This lovely upstairs cottage is very pretty, quiet, peaceful, and clean. It is well stocked. It has a deck to enjoy the sunsets and a dock to tie up your boats. The white sand beach is great for swimming and relaxing. Fish off the dock and enjoy motoring around this beautiful lake. Santa Fe Lake is 3 1/2 miles wide and seven miles long (6800 acres) and has a lot of character. It is a great place for a family vacation and make to childhood memories.I don't have a lot of rules and regulations and want you to come in and feel completely at home. There is an acre of land with room for games and plenty of parking for cars and boat trailers with easy in, easy out access. We are located 25 miles from Gainesville and the University of Florida. Theatres, sporting events, museums, and fine dining are all available. A fine golf course is within a couple of miles and PGA courses at Jacksonville are about a 50mile trip. A grocery store is within a mile. Two small towns within 4 miles.

This is the only rental on the property and you are not sharing the white sand beach or dock. It is completely private and for you only while you are here. Below the upstairs cottage is a garage with nothing going on in there to disturbe you. My home is also on the property but I am gone most of the time. The 100 ft water front is for you and your family only. It is quiet, peaceful, private, clean, pretty and well stocked. And I am here to offer any help. I can to point you to the local grocery store, restaurants etc. and introduce to the lake and the area. This is an unfound area of Florida and there is no husstle and bustle or traffic. Santa Fe is a large lake and sometimes is slick as glass and then a breeze can churn up some waves. The sunsets are glorious. Usually a lake breeze keeps it cooler and there is shade to sit and read or relax.

AVAILABLE FOR WINTER MONTHS @$1,200.00mo: Get out of the cold and spend your winter here in sunny Florida. This is a beautiful place to spend the winter. It is quiet, peaceful ,and private but close to restaurants, shopping, entertainment. Fish off of the dock or take a day trip to the beach or Cedar Keys, or to Disney. Twice my winter renters have fallen in love with the area and bought a home nearby. I lost them as renters but have them as good neighbors and friends. Keystone Heights and Melrose are both 4 miles away and are friendly, lovely, laid back little towns. Lots of churches, beauty shops, a couple of grocery stores, and we even have fitness centers. There are trails for walking or biking. We have an ice cream shop and a golf course. Come and join us. November and/or December are available and so is January, March and/or April. Come for one month or most of the winter. You will fall in love with this area . It is an unfound lovely, safe area of Florida.

My home is also on this property and I have enjoyed living here since 1972. My kids grew up here. I am an artist and the whole place is decorated with my mosaics, and yard art. The garage is my work shop and I really enjoy creating new pieces.

This property is set on a bank and the lake has a beautiful white sand bottom. Perfect for swimming and a safe place for children. The sun sets are glorious. The lake is so large that a storm can whip up huge breakers. The lake has so much character. Every day beautiful and different.

The setting just brings piece to your soul. Vacationers come in all exhausted and keyed up and every day you can see them relax more and more. It is quiet and peaceful and soothing here. A perfect get-a-way from lifes hustle and bustle.

Santa Fe Lake is a huge, beautiful lake perfect for boating, skiing, sailing, and my place has a great white sand beach for swimming. There is a dock for fishing and relaxing and boat tie offs. It is a private beach for the rental only. It is located nestled between two small towns. Four miles south is Melrose, a one redlight town known for its art galleries and restaurants. Four miles north is the two red light town of Keystone Heights. A beautiful, friendly place to shop and enjoy small town life. It is a quiet, peaceful, frendly area away from traffic, and big city bustle. We are located about and hour from either coast with plenty of recreation and entertainment close by. This is the only rental on ther property and you have the full run of the place to yourselves. I like for you to come in and feel completely at home here.

My wife and I (and our 2 dogs ) spent the month of February at Jeanne's cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and must add that Jeanne was a perfect hostess, very respectful of our privacy yet always willing to offer directions, information about local activities, etc. We golfed many times, having a choice of 4 courses within a 30 minute drive. We did a lot of sightseeing as we were halfway between the gulf coast and the ocean. Wild Bill's Airboat Rides in Inverness (about 1 1/2 hrs away) and Marineland (about 1 hr) were 2 of our most memorable outings. There is a grocery store about 10 min. away which provided everything you could possibly need, as well as a gas station and convenience store only 2 minutes away. We dined out several times with our favourites being Melrose Cafe and Johnny's BBQ & Catering in Keystone Heights. There are numerous farmers markets and flea markets in the area and our dogs were welcomed everywhere. Jeanne offered us the use of her washing machine, but we didn't want to take advantage of her, so we went to the one in Keystone Heights. Very clean and well looked after. Do not go to the one in Melrose. If you would like a relaxing vacation away from all the busy tourist venues, I would highly recommend a stay at Jeanne's cottage. Jeanne isn't exaggerating when she says the sunsets are beautiful. Thanks so much Jeanne, for an awesome escape from our Canadian winter. Say hi to Brandon, Ashley & Bob. The dogs miss all of you (and us too)!

My family enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing week at this whimsical getaway spot on Lake Santa Fe in Melrose. The upstairs apartment is spacious, beautifully paneled and tiled by the proprietor's crafty hands! We had everything we needed, plenty of space, and the use of the white sand beach. Many things are decorated on the property (including capping the dock posts with beautiful mosaic creations!). Situated between Keystone in Melrose, it was convenient for us to visit in the area. I would recommend this magical spot if you like to fish, relax, watch the water, boat, swim, watch the moon or just enjoy this beautiful north Florida area. The locals refer to this spot as Indian Beach. It's not hard to believe that this would be their choice as well!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
