We've enjoyed visiting Venice for many years and recently decided to purchase a beautiful golf course condo. The area offers a great mix of city amenities, including the Venice Theater, a YMCA and access to excellent healthcare, while providing a relaxing feel of a small beach resort town. Venice has great shopping, excellent seafood restaurants and top notch recreation facilities. Our condo is located in the meticulously landscaped Plantation Golf & Country Club community. Many more high quality and affordable golf courses are nearby.
Our west facing lanai and patio provides a wide vista that overlooks a small lake on the Bobcat course. It's a fantastic place to watch a variety of tropical birds (and play 'find the alligator') over breakfast or anytime. The nature opportunities of the local State Parks and bird aviary are incredible and the beaches are World Class. One of our favorite activities is walking on the beaches, soaking up the sunshine as the gulf breeze and sea sounds sweep over us. Yes, we are a little shark's tooth crazy. We've even had some fantastic luck hunting for them at night by flashlight!
We live in Ohio and work full time hoping that some year in the future, we will be able to retire to our 'Ibis Paradise'. Because we expect to live there, we decided to incorporate high quality materials in the condo's renovation project. You'll find granite sink tops (dual sinks in the master), new raised vanities, all new faucets, new quiet and effective bathroom fans, increased lighting, new high quality shower doors and a beautiful new walk-in tiled shower in the master bathroom. We even purchased the taller, more comfortable, toilets for each bath. Other improvements include new high quality wall-to-wall carpeting in both bedrooms, new vertical blinds and new paint on the walls and ceilings. Even the air conditioning unit is new.
Some other activities we look forward to are going to Sharky's Pier for dinner, live music and a drink. Or a short drive to Nokomis Groves for a cone of their famous orange ice cream, yum yum! But the best part about our Venice home is that we don't have to go anywhere to experience the amazing sunsets that unravel each evening. At cocktail hour, we can lift our glasses to toast the setting, burnt orange, sun as we dine on our own lanai.
