The vacation house Agistri is a large, modern 7-room vacation property, built in the traditional island style. It has a 240 m² open-plan living-area on the idyllic island Agistri, in the Saronic Gulf. From all the 5 balconies, you can enjoy the fantastic view upon the Saronic Gulf, the neighbouring island Aegina, upon the Peleponnes and Salamina. If the weather is good, you can even see the Acropolis. Even in the summer months, there is not much tourism. It is a quiet island, but fully available and with charming sandy beaches and cliffy bays, with many water sports activities, and with possibilities for hiking. Agistri is not typically Greek. It is throughout green, with pine tree woods and olive groves, and it can be reached several times a day in only 1 hour by the sea bus from Piraeus/ Athens or by car ferry.

Our 7-room vacation house can be divided into 2 separate apartments, with separate entrance. There is a 5-room apartment that covers 2 floors and a 2-room apartment on the upper floor. We will describe here the 2-room apartment, with an open-plan living area of 80 m², eat-in kitchen, living/ bedroom, bathroom with shower, 2 balconies with fantastic view upon the entire Saronic Gulf. The apartment, located on the second floor of the house, can be reached through a separate back entrance. In the middle of the stairway, there is a small sunny terrace. The apartment has 2 balconies (approx. 18 m² + 6 m²). Through a small hall way you can reach both large rooms of the apartment (37 m² + 35 m²) & the small bathroom with shower. The eat-in kitchen (with kitchenette, gas cooker with 2 flames, a refrigerator with big ice box, big countertop, and terraces) also offers sleeps for 2 people. In the living/bedroom there is a big sofa bed (200 x 200 cm), which can be transformed into a lounge.

Our house is located on a hill, in the idyllic village of Metochi. There are about 30 further houses, built in the typical island style. From the port Skala you can reach it in 10 minutes on foot, or by one of the island taxis. Behind the house, the Agistri typical pine tree woods unfold themselves. In front of the house, there is an unbelievable panorama over the entire Saronic Gulf. You can reach a beautiful, sandy beach in only 5 minutes, but there are also many bays and cliff beaches in the close neighbourhood of our house. The village Metochi itself has a somehow isolated and separated from the port Skala, but the shopping center, the bakery, the butcher’s, or the exceptional taverns can all be reached on foot without any problems. For further island trips, you can rent bikes and scooters. You can of course go hiking on Agistri. Trips to Athens, Aegina, Poros, Hydra or to the Epidauros-Festival are possible daily.

Notes: Our house was finished between 1996 and 1998, and it was first meant for private usage. Especially the bright, sunny, large 2-room apartment is very attractive, top quality and individually furnished. The fitted kitchen has a kitchenette (typical Greek style), a large (breakfast) terrace with bar stools and a big counter. The living/ bedroom with sofa bed, armchair as lounge, shelves and a chest of drawers is also very different from a standard furnished room. All the rooms, including the balconies and the terraces have a marble floor. Almost all the doors and windows have protection against insects. The special charm of this apartment is given (especially between April and October) by the 2 balconies. As the house is located upon a hill, you can enjoy a wonderful view upon the Saronic Gulf, with the islands Ägina, Salamina and Pelepponnes. If the sky is clear, you can even see the Acropolis from here.
