The vacation house Agistri is a large, modern 7-room vacation property, built in the traditional island style. It has a 240 m² open-plan living-area on the idyllic island Agistri, in the Saronic Gulf. From all the 5 balconies, you can enjoy the fantastic view upon the Saronic Gulf, the neighbouring island Aegina, upon the Peleponnes and Salamina. If the weather is good, you can even see the Acropolis. Even in the summer months, there is not much tourism. It is a quiet island, but fully available and with charming sandy beaches and cliffy bays, with many water sports activities, and with possibilities for hiking. Agistri is not typically Greek. It is throughout green, with pine tree woods and olive groves, and it can be reached several times a day in only 1 hour by the sea bus from Piraeus/ Athens or by car ferry.

The entire house has 3 floors and it has an open-plan living area of 240 m², 7 rooms, 2 kitchens, 3 bathrooms and 5 balconies. It can be divided into 2 apartments with separate entrances: a 5-room apartment and 2-room apartment. The apartment on the first and second floor is suitable for 5 - 6 people, while the upper apartment is for 3 - 4 people. Extra guests’ beds and cot are available. The apartment downstairs (160 m², exclusively balconies) has 3 bedrooms, 1 living room with open fireplace, 1 dining room, 2 bathrooms with bathing tub, 3 balconies, 2 terraces and 1 completely equipped kitchen with dish washer, cooker, oven and washing machine. Directly in front of the kitchen, there is a terrace with walled lounge, whereas in front of the house, there is a garden terrace (with palm trees, fountains, and a big barbecue on charcoal). The apartment upstairs (80 m²) has a living/bedroom, an eat-in kitchen, 2 balconies (fantastic sea and mountain view), and a small terrace behind.

Our house is located on a hill, in the idyllic village of Metochi. There are about 30 further houses, built in the typical island style. From the port Skala you can reach it in 10 minutes on foot, or by one of the island taxis. Behind the house, the Agistri typical pine tree woods unfold themselves. In front of the house, there is an unbelievable panorama over the entire Saronic Gulf. You can reach a beautiful, sandy beach in only 5 minutes, but there are also many bays and cliff beaches in the close neighbourhood of our house. The village Metochi itself has a somehow isolated and separated from the port Skala, but the shopping center, the bakery, the butcher’s, or the exceptional taverns can all be reached on foot without any problems. For further island trips, you can rent bikes and scooters. You can of course go hiking on Agistri. Trips to Athens, Aegina, Poros, Hydra or to the Epidauros-Festival are possible daily.

The 3 bedrooms are no bedrooms with Danish layout, but very large ones, partially furnished with desk and lounge, so that you can use them as living rooms as well. All of these rooms have built-in closets and they have access to at least one balcony.

Notes: The house, including all the terraces and balconies have marble floor, which keeps it cool in the summer, and warm in the winter. From all the rooms, you have access to one of the 5 balconies (all of them have sea view), and most of the doors and windows have protection against insects. In the living room in the basement there is an open fireplace, and for the few winter months, there is an oil based central heating in the rooms. The guests can enjoy a large collection of water sport equipments (diving glasses, snorkel, fins, fishing instruments), as well as diverse toys for children (rubber dinghy, children pool, etc.). On request, you can rent a 3-gear Yamaha moped and a motor dinghy (for maximum 5 people) on a weekly basis. Our house is attended by an English administrator, who lives in the neighbourhood, and who is available all day long. He can also help you with the luggage transportation on your arrival and on your departure day.

Agistri ist noch ein echter Geheimtipp, obwohl nur
35km von Piräus entfernt ist es auch im Juli nicht
überlaufen, sieht man einmal von den Wochenenden
mit Athener Tagesausflüglern ab.
Anreise mit dem Flieger über Athen, dann mit dem
Bus nach Piräus und der Fähre nach Agistri ohne
Probleme. Kein Auto notwendig!
Schöner Stand in Skala, Badeschuhe sind aber auf
jeden Fall nötig (Seeigel!), toll zum schorcheln.
Es empfiehlt sich auf jeden Fall ein Moped anzumieten,
da der Aufstieg zum Haus sehr, sehr steil ist.
Für Leute die nicht gut zu Fuß sind nicht zu empfehlen.
Zu empfehlen ist die Taverne in Metochi in unmittelbarer
Nähe mit phantastischer Aussichtsterasse und genialen
Lammkoteletts.
Die Nebenkosten (Lebensmittel) sind auf jeden Fall
teuer als in Deutschland.
