Love the Lodge and the Sweet Suite!

Our family of 6 felt right at home in the "rustic," little Lodge near the woods and the back fishing lake. The Lodge was extremely clean and had just the right items that we might need while there (little shampoo/lotion, paper plates/cups, and even a Pepsi in the fridge, among other treats). The owner was very attentive to my many pre-travel questions, and was polite and welcoming upon our arrival. We appreciated his kindness in accomplishing even more than he had agreed to doing (making the air mattress bed in the loft for us, for example, as we would be arriving late for check-in after a long day). The youngest children were thrilled to play and sleep in the Loft and keep asking when we will be going back to "our cottage!" The kitchen was convenient for our needs, and we really liked the screened-in porch. As we are a camping family (tent and camper), the Lodge was not too small for us. If you prefer spreading out with lots of extra space and several rooms, consider the Suite, instead. (...and save the Lodge for us!--our favorite! :)
We also spent time in the Suite (pictured here) with our friends who were staying there. Unlike the cozy Lodge, the Suite is a larger, sprawling, single-level home. The Suite and Lodge have a very different "feel" from one another, but both are equally nice places to stay.
If we ever need a place to stay near Indianapolis again, we'll be returning here to Indy Lakes! It is more cost effective and comfortable for our family than the expensive city hotels, and for us it is refreshing to be out of the city and in a quiet, safe, comfortable, quaint place near water, instead! It is a short and easy drive into the city of Indianapolis. We highly recommend both of the properties--Lodge and Suite. We hope to return to stay at either of the places again sometime.
PS Check out SouthWest Way Park just 1 mile from Indy Lakes (Mann Road). We had a great time on the hiking trails through the woods, at the White River, and on the playground there. Other free or low-cost activities nearby include: Indianapolis Art Museum, Garfield Park Conservatory, and indoor swimming "Splash Island" at Plainfield Recreation Center. Enjoy!

Owner's Response: Fun filled and successful families like these means we can't call what we do a job, it's too much fun.
