Photos and Description of the Big Sky vacation cabin rental
1 Bedroom + Sleeping Loft, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4-7)

Our historic renovated log cabin sits above the South fork of the Gallatin River on a 14 acre gated estate. This unique 'one of a kind' property is beautifully landscaped and walking distance to golf, tennis, meadow village, town center and a number of Big Sky's best restaurants. This upscale cabin features a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, gourmet cookware, and all the utensils necessary for incredible meals.

The entire cabin features old world plaster walls, and original oak flooring. The river rock wood burning fireplace includes a heat-a-lator insert helping to make the cabin warm and toasty. Your deck overlooks the Southfork of the Gallatin, a small stream loaded with willing trout. Elk, Moose, Deer and Bear are regular visitors.

Your host is a PSIA certified ski instructor and private or group lessons can be included with your rental at very affordable rates.

Ours in not just a rental... it's a lifestyle!

In sight of World Class Skiing: If skiing or snow boarding is your passion, you couldn't be in a better spot. Your cabin has views of ski runs of Big Sky Resort. Included with your rental is V.I.P. parking in the Summit Hotel at the base of Big Sky. Make the short 10 minute drive up the mountain and have your car valet parked in a heated garage. Ski and boot storage is available free of charge. Walk up the short flight of stairs and you're at the base lifts ready to tackle 'the Biggest Skiing in America.'

As a PSIA certified ski instructor, I am usually available to show guests around our two resorts or give pointers that will improve their abilities.

Not Just a Rental but a Lifestyle.: Drive through the electronic gate off the main road leading up to Big Sky's resorts and you enter a private world few people will ever know. First you'll encounter a waterfall and bubbling stream emptying into our stocked trout pond surrounded by native willows. Bull Moose, Deer and Elk are frequent visitors to this ecosystem. Hand raised Mallard ducks swim happily and bald eagles soar above. Everywhere you look are mountains and pine trees and below the cabin the pristine South fork of the Gallatin River runs. While in this private estate one can only marvel at the sights, sounds and smells that make us and everyone who visits happy to be alive.

On the property you will have access to the prettiest bocce ball court west of the Missippi, a professional grade horse shoe court, stocked trout pond and over half a mile of private river access.

.

Fly Fishing Mecca: If you like to fly fish you might consider this the mecca of the sport. Within a 60 mile radius of your cabin are a dozen world famous trout rivers including; the Gallatin, Madison, Firehole, Gibbon, Jefferson, Yellowstone, Slough Creek and more. Walk out your back door and catch wild trout on a 2 or 3 weight fly rod. Go 1.6 miles to the Gallatin River, one of Montana's most reliable and prolific rivers.

We can arrange guided float trips or walk-wade trips for you and might even take you down one of our local rivers in our own float boat. If fly fishing is your thing, you're in the right place.

Top Notch

We had a wonderful stay at this cabin the week after Christmas 2012. There were two of us so the cabin provided more than enough room. There was a full kitchen, eating area and the family room provided multiple couches along with a full entertainment center, including surround sound.

Location wise the cabin was 45 mins from the airport, 10 mins from the ski mountain and 45 mins from the entrance to Yellowstone National Park. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice, comfortable, secluded stay in Big Sky.

Barry and Zoe (hosts) have their main residence on the property and were more than helpful with planning, suggestions and ensuring we had everything we needed during our stay.

We had a great great time, will definitely revisit in the summer and highly recommend to others.

Jon and Shannon (New York City)
Owner's Response: Zoey and I are constantly amazed by how wonderful our guests are and how much fun we have with them. We have made so many longtime frineds as a result that we feel lucky to have this wonderful getaway for others to experience.

Jon, you still owe me a ping pong game!

Exceeded Expectations!

Pictures don't do this place justice. And we cannot convey the graciousness of our hosts, Zoey and Barry. We were treated like family and we could not have asked for a more pleasant stay. From the fresh eggs and local jams to the attention to detail in providing an upscale stay, we wanted for nothing. Within walking distance to both happening areas of Big Sky, yet we felt like we were in the beautiful Montana wilderness. The cabin had every amentity we could want. The fireplace was great, the kitchen well-stocked, and the overall decor was very homey and special. Lots of towels and hooks and a great heater in the bathroom! The place is much larger than expected and we really loved the back deck and the trout pond and river behind the property and the chickens running around! Barry and Zoey could not have done more to make our stay better. Eating a wonderful meal with their great friends, Randy and Mary and daughter, Aubrey, was entertaining - we felt like we were friends, too. We vacation a lot and this place is one of our top stays, for sure. We hope to be able to return in 2 years. A really perfect stay. Zoey and Barry also helped us figure out stuff to do in the area and the recommendation to go to Virginia City was a must-see. Overall, I cannot emphasize how great this place is - do not hesitate to stay here as I know you will also enjoy the accommodation as we did.

Outstanding experience. My first use of VRBO. My hosts could not have been nicer or more helpful. The setting was even more beautiful than expected. We were given fresh eggs by the host. Altogether a delightful experience.

Spring 2012 Visit

5 of 5
Submitted: March 27, 2012 Stayed: March 2012
Dear Barry and Zoey:

We really enjoyed your cozy and well-appointed cabin for our week's visit this past week. Among other things, we really appreciated your warm personal welcome, and as weary travelers from Florida, your providing us with a dozen of your hens' freshly-laid eggs as well as a few jars of yummy, locally-made huckleberry jams and jellies!

We really welcomed and felt lucky to get the heavy blast of Spring snow that blanketed the area over night our second night and the next day, making for GREAT skiing conditions at Big Sky, not to mention a wonderful winter-like atmosphere for the roaring fires in the cabin's river rock fire place (thanks for providing ample firewood for that).

Owing to the otherwise early Spring, the Gallatin River provided a great opportunity for Dad to break out the fly fishing gear and get a couple of nice Rainbows (if I were a more competent fly fisherman, I might have nailed a couple dozen ... I noticed guide Dave Alvin, of nearby East Slope Fly Fishing, absolutely slaying the fish up-river from where I was fishing one day at Deer Creek bridge).

Finally, thanks to you both for welcoming us into your beautiful home for a night of coffee, homemade ice cream and fun games with the Tillery family and their friends from Orlando ... we had a blast.

The surrounding Alpine majesty of the Rockies, and your lovely property in particular, truly provided a background for a memorable trip.

We really look forward to our next visit ... we'll tackle the Madison River next time!

All our best,

E, L & P
