Horses, porches, peace & quiet at The Empty Nest Guest House. This quaint farmhouse in the country is only 10 minutes from The Oxford Square. There are two beautifully appointed private bedroom; you have your own deck and access to pool & gardens to encourage rest and relaxation!

Continental breakfast included with your rate.

Unique bathrooms-one room has sink & toilet,the other has sink and jetted tub.

Small well-trained pets are welcome.

Our Hundred Acre Woods is used exclusively for our Horse/Hiking trails. Wildlife is everywhere. We have a sandy bottomed, spring-fed creek which makes you feel like you've left this century and gone back in time.

Many guests have enjoyed our gorgeous home over the last three years. We enjoy sharing our country property with guests who want to experience worldly Oxford yet retreat from the world.

About the Owners: Linda Lewis Raney wears many hats. She is a Real Estate Agent, caretaker of 10 horses, 4 dogs & 4 cats, CHA certified teacher of Beginners Horseback riding, antique booth entrepreneur, Guest House Manager & Reservation Clerk,.

Hollaman (Holly) M. Raney is a practicing Attorney by day and a wanna-be Farmer/Maintenance Man by night. He is plenty old enough to retire but as the father of five daughters (the last one just left for college), we don't hold out much hope for that.

Why the Owner Chose Oxford:

We visited friends on Hopewell Road 15 years ago. We loved it out here so much, we bought our property and moved here within four months. Holly commuted back to Jackson Miss for 9 months before he secured employment in Memphis. This picturesque, quintessential country lane started our love affair with living in 'The Country'. Our forests, trails, wildlife, horses, beautiful home and proximity to Oxford make life complete.

The Unique Benefits at this Farmhouse: We enjoy all the advantages of the magnificent hamlet of Oxford yet are able to retreat from the hustle and bustle of 'The Little Easy' at our country home.

Breakfast Bar includes small fridge for your travel foods & beverages, toaster and coffee pot. Ice bucket filled each afternoon. Shared Pool: Request your beach towels to hang out by beautiful pool. There's toooo much to do in Oxford, The Empty Nest is a great place to DO NOTHING! Minimum Age Limit for Renters: 21 years of age (exception: Dependent children). Kid Friendly: Pool yard is fenced. We love children and do all we can to make your travels with the kids comfortable and fun. Pet Friendly: Please tell us about your pets before you bring them. Pool yard is fenced if you wish to let your pet run loose. Continental Breakfast included, Enjoy the sunny pool, Shade garden with chaise & Adirondack chairs. Deck overlooks woods where deer & turkey frequently pass through. An outdoor Fire pit is available. Request firewood in advance. Large grill on deck by pool. Please notify owners if you intend to use grill so we can make sure the gas bottle is full.

Beautiful Hideaway in Oxford

My boyfriend and I decided to stay in Oxford for 4 days during the course of a 3 week roadtrip. The rental is about 7ish miles from historical downtown Oxford and is truly a beautiful property. The space is as cute as a button and immediately makes you feel right at home. It is good to note that the apartment has no kitchen. There is a mini fridge/toaster/coffee maker and the property owners graciously leave fruits, yogurt, cereal, milk, other various treats, and hardboiled eggs for your breakfasting pleasure. It is also helpful to note that the Empty nest is connected by a door to the main house where the owners reside, so its not really the most optimal for romantic endeavors.

We loved our stay and plan to return when next in the area!

We are repeat guests at the Empty Nest and plan to include it in our travel plans any time we are within a hundred miles of Oxford.
Secluded, yet easy to find.
"Farmhouse" is a bit misleading. This is a recently built, beautifully appointed place, with easy going, friendly hosts.
Between the pool and the stable of horses out back, it is a great place for a week-end.
Highly Recommended.
