The location of the Villa is in San Marino Condominium with gate control. It has private beach access.
Enjoy nice warm weather in the sunny Pacific Coast of Guatemala in this comfortable Villa that have 4 bedrooms with private bathroom (showers) and A/C each room. It has beds with sheets for up to 13 persons. There is a living room inside the house and fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils needed. There is a service lady that can assist you with cleaning on a day basis, INCLUDED!
Enjoy being outside under the ranch that has exterior furniture for dining, living, bar set, and grilling. The view from the ranch is a water canal. Have a great time in the private pool anytime of the day. To just lay down under the sun or the shadow of an umbrella there are couple of patio beds and hammocks.
Have fun playing in your own pool table or ping pong in a room that has a 32'LCD TV hanging on a wall to watch your favorite tv program, like being on a sports bar!
The Villa is in a private, gated condominium with 24/7 security guards. You can walk to the private beach (around 1km) inside the condominium and you will get to the Pacific Coast shore. The sand is black because of the volcanic history of this area, but it is nice, granulated sand to walk or play with. The sea has waves to practice body surfing if you like; you might be swimming with surfers. The Villa has beach chairs and umbrella for your use on the beach.
If you like deep sea fishing or just be in a motor boat on the sea, you can hire a half or full day tour to do this. Going out from a nearby marina, there a several options where they provide you with everything including a captain! Another close place to visit (15 miles) is Monterrico, where you can find restaurants, bars and places to hang out and meet other visitors.
If you spend several days in this Villa, you can do day trips to nice places like Antigua (55 miles), a beautiful colonial town, full of historic spanish monuments, museums, churches, great gastronomy, coffee, and bars. This unique city lies on the base of the Agua Volcano and is close to Fuego (active!) and Acatenango volcano. In your way to Antigua you will pass by La Reunion Golf Course (45 miles), which is a new 18 hole international recognized golf course. You can rent everything to play here.
Another day trip could be visiting Guatemala City (70 miles) and do a city tour. On your way to the city you will pass by Pacaya Volcano (55 miles) which is active and you can hike it up in an hour, which is a great lifetime experience: you will see melted lava! Another day trip could be visiting Lake Atitlan (80 miles), considering one of the most beautiful lakes in the world, and it is true. The lake is surrounded by three volcanoes, small villages with ethnic people that are mayan descendents and have their own characteristics in clothing, food and folcloric traditions, very nice to see.
Visiting Guatemala is an awesome experience and using this nice Villa as your stay in the country is a great choice!

The Owner purchased this villa in 2006
Condominium San Marino is a very nice group of private vacational houses, very well maintained and secure. The Villa was recently refurbished with new areas for fun and relax. We like to stay in this Villa a lot!
Relax, read, have fun with board games, swimming pool, play pool or ping pong, or enjoy the black sand beach on site, are a few of the things you can do while staying in the Villa. Doing day trips to beautiful places in the Country is a great idea if staying several days here.
I have rented this property numerous times over the last 2 1/2 years. It is a beautiful house well maintained with furnishing that include a pool table ping-pong table and outdoor furniture for relaxing poolside and just a short walk to a private beach
San Marino was everything we expected and more! The villa is as it appears in the photos (actually seems larger with all the rooms) and is well-maintained by the staff -- Israel (who looks after the exterior grounds and cleans the pool each morning) and Bernarda (house-keeper and cook extraordinaire). We purchased our groceries at La Torre in Puerto San Jose (a 5 minute drive up the road) and Bernarda prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner for us each day. She picked up fresh limes as she walked to work each morning and made limonada with them for us -- it was the best I've ever had! Bottled water is provided by the owner. The pool is lovely and the waterfalls are not only relaxing but also drown out any noise from the nearby road the villa backs onto. Each room has its own 3-piece washroom, A/C unit, and ceiling fan. The house is very secure with guards posted throughout the community. The black sand beach is a 15 minute walk away inside the gated community with good waves for body surfing (or in my case, giving the kids on the beach a laugh). We found that there were mosquitoes as we lounged around the pool, but applying a little bug spray solved the problem.
Oscar is a terrific host. He's very knowledgeable and was always available to answer our questions regarding the area or anything Guatemala-related. Knowing he was an email, text, or phone call away was reassuring as we navigated the area.
A car is a must if you're staying here. San Marino (near Puerto Quetzal) isn't near anything -- you'll need it to travel from the airport, get groceries, and see the sites. There is a Pollo Campero Express and Domino's nearby, but that's about it. The gas station across the road has a small convenience store with drinks, alcohol and ice cream. Johnny's Place in Monterrico is worth the drive -- great food and they had the best Quetzales / USD exchange we found. Definitely hit Pacaya in the morning (ask for David among the local guides -- speaks English pretty well) and then head up the road to Amatitlan to the Santa Teresita Spa to soothe those muscles in the Thermal Circuit. Antigua is another great day trip. If you're using Google Maps, please watch your route -- it likes to send you on nameless dirt roads! Also make sure you have some Quetzales for road tolls.
In short, we'll definitely be back -- be it here or at Oscar's other rental property in Antigua. It's a beautiful property with a fabulous staff who do their best to make your stay a pleasant one.
