Great house in a great location

  • 5 of 5
The house was wonderfully furnished and spotlessly clean. What you see in the pictures and read in the description are exactly what you get. This place exceeded all our expectations. The king sized bed in the master was more comfortable than our bed at home. This was the best VRBO facility that we have stayed in to date.

Our purpose in visiting Tucson was to hike and take pictures in Saguaro National Park and the surrounding area. We wanted a place to stay that was close to the city but not in the middle of it. This place was in the perfect location for us. Located in the foothills near the Catalina highway, it had plenty of outdoor space but was close to stores and restaurants. A 15 minute drive brought you to the visitors' center at the eastern section of Saguaro National Park.

When we arrived, we were greeted by a family of 8 or 10 Harris Hawks perched in a tree in front of the house. Wildlife was plentiful including deer, rabbits, roadrunners, quail and a multitude of other species of birds feeding at the numerous bird feeders in the back yard. This area also has some of the best hiking and biking opportunities we have experienced anywhere. For sightseeing, a trip to Summerhaven at the top of Mt. Lemmon (elevation of 8,000+ feet) is a must. Or, if you are up to it, you can bike the 27 miles to the top. For hiking, be sure to check out the topographical map of the Coronado National Forest in the basket on the bookshelf.

You can't go wrong with this place.

A wonderful stay in the sonoran desert forest

  • 5 of 5
The facilities were outstanding in quality and comfort. The hosts were welcoming and friendly, always available when requested, but never intrusive. The California King bed was possibly more comfortable than my own bed back home! Hiking trails into the foothills were less than 1/8 mile from the property. Easy access to Tucson activities and eateries. Bird feeders in the back yard drew birds (of course), seeds spilled from feeders attracted cottontail rabbits, which in turn attracted coyotes and bobcats. Wonderful viewing of wildlife! We can't think of anything that would have made us more comfortable. We will definitely be back --- in fact, we're already signed up for next year!

Perfect

This home couldn't have been better. It was spotless, close to hiking and biking, and a wildlife refuge all around the house. I sure hope it's available when my wife and I visit Tucson again.

The Perfect Place!

  • 5 of 5
Fabulous! Birds and other desert animals visit right outside your door. We enjoyed hiking and biking right from the house, Milagrosa Canyon is beautiful, especially as the evening light turns it from rosy orange to lavender and violet. Tucson has so many great golf courses that we didn't even scratch the surface in a month. Helen and Bill are wonderful hosts. She has succeeded in making a home which is comfortable, beautiful and fully stocked. Thanks for the fruit basket, coffee and basic supplies waiting for us upon arrival. Be sure to have a coffee or lunch at Le Buzz in the nearby shopping area. We'll be back!

Impeccable!

  • 5 of 5
I am writing this review as I sit on the beautiful back porch of this cottage and I am so excited to write it. I only arrived yesterday and am so impressed I couldn't wait to hop online this morning while sipping my coffee and rave about it. First, I've stayed at many rentals via VRBO before. This cottage is, BY FAR, the cleanest and most well appointed I've ever experienced. I am so thrilled with our choice! If you are comparing rentals for this area, look no further. The king bed in the master is so comfortable. The layout of the little cottage is perfect. It's so quiet and peaceful here and the owners have taken great care to make sure to think of everything. As I sit here, I'm watching birds feed and bunnies roam around through the brush. My mother is staying with us and wants to draw up the floor plan so that she can build her retirement cottage someday! We visit Tucson every year to see family and we will absolutely continue to stay here from now on if it's available. No question.

From the moment we arrived at the property and drove in between two giant saguaro we were delighted. This casitas is secluded and very quiet. We felt at home as soon as we walked in. There are beautiful views from all the windows. We spent mornings hiking and birding from the back porch, and enjoyed the evenings on the front porch. We only stayed a week but could have easily stayed a month, and we wish we had.

We have stayed in Tucson many times and this casitas is now the only place we would consider staying at in the future.
