Charming and cozy adobe style home is close to town (5 minutes) and the Taos Ski Valley (20 minutes) and offers panoramic views of the Sangre de Christo Mountains and Taos Valley. This new listing is in a quiet Blueberry Hill neighborhood that is perfect for walks and close to all activities. The landscaped backyard and front courtyard are completely enclosed, providing privacy and security for families and pets or couples seeking a romantic get away.

Ten-inch thick walls stay cool in summer and radiant heat gently warms the Saltillo tile floors in winter. Hot tub and lounge chairs showcase Taos Mountain by day and the Milky Way and more stars than you have ever seen at night. Cozy up inside by the fireplace or outside by the firepit or chiminea.

Master bedroom has a private bath, a queen bed, and French doors that open to the back portal. Large guest room has many windows, private door to bath, and French doors that open onto back patio. Kids room has one queen bed and one twin bed. Additionally there are two self inflating double beds available.

Wood beamed ceilings, lots of windows, plastered walls and Southwestern décor all add to the ambiance. A well equipped kitchen, wireless internet, stereo with I-Pod cable, flat screen TV, and nice towels, linens, and robes provide all you will need to enjoy your stay. And there is garage parking for one car, a gas grill, and plenty of firewood. Well-behaved pets are welcome, subject to a security deposit and never being left alone. There is no smoking inside the house.

Enjoy all that is Taos: Mountains and canyons with skiing, hiking, river rafting, golf, and fishing. Great restaurants, galleries, museums, music, and shopping are all close by. Experience small town charm with diversity, history, and many special events. The Taos Pueblo remains largely unchanged for hundreds of years and welcomes the public to share in many of their traditions and festivals. About The Owner

Stan and Debbie Adams own restaurants in Austin and enjoy flying, sailing, skiing, hiking, wine, friends, family and much more in life. Pictured is Stan and their little Papillon Jack after a recent hike to the Rio Grande.

Why The Owner chose Taos

Taos remains unspoiled by over development and is truly unique and offers a great counterpoint to Austin. We often fly our small airplane (an older Beechcraft Baron) into the local airport, located just a few minutes from our house.

There are an amazing variety of activities and quality experiences close at hand, without the overdone glitz of most resort towns. Taos is real in a way that is hard to describe, but grows more and more each time you come.

Summers are spectacular in Taos. Mornings start crisp and cool with the clearest blue sky you will ever see. As the day warms, clouds form over the mountains and frequently bring cooling breezes down to the valley. The air settles down just before sunset that lights up the sky and the mountains.

In the fall, color progresses from the aspens in the high elevations to the cottonwood trees around town and in our front courtyard. Snow starts on the highest peaks first and gradually progresses lower as the season evolves. The smell of pinion burning in fireplaces is in the air.

Winter brings world class skiing with frequent dumps of fresh powder nearby at Taos Ski Valley. While at our house and in town, we typically see just a few inches of super light fluff that beautifully coats the walls and the trees. Often we can make first tracks on fresh powder in the morning (Taos Ski Valley is rarely crowded) and come down to sunny warm shirtsleeve weather at our house for the afternoon.

Spring brings warm days with Spring skiing, rushing streams and the cycle starting all over again.

What makes this house unique

Taos has a very dramatic 360 vista of high desert wrapped by mountains. You literally see for miles in all directions. Our house showcases this panorama while providing the privacy to enjoy how each day evolves and changes. The hot tub, lounge chairs, firepit, and chiminea further enhance the experience. And, while close to town, our house offers a quiet setting for a spectacular neighborhood walk that we enjoy almost every morning and evening.

We were extremely satisfied with our stay! It was a perfect location for all of our vacation plans. Under 10 minutes to great restaurants, all the great shops and museums in Taos. The views are amazing, so different from what we have in the NYS fingerlakes area. We did like being outside of town for the privacy factor. The location was also great for day trips to the area national parks, rivers (we enjoy fly fishing), Taos golf course, and many historic sites.

The enclosed back yard worked out very well since we had our dog with us, and it was a great space for just hanging out in the morning or evening enjoying the mountain views. And, of course, we have to say a few words about the kitchen. We loved it - we felt right at home. We enjoy cooking, so having good pans, great kitchen equipment, came in handy when we decided to cook in. Also since we stayed for 3 weeks having a washer and dryer was quite helpful. Overall, we couldn't have been happier with the accomodations for our first New Mexico experience.

Honeymoon in Taos

We loved this house! We brought our two labs and they enjoyed the fenced in backyard! The kitchen was fully equipped. The house has heated floors!! It was nice to not have to step on cold tile when we woke up in the morning! The fire place was awesome.. the owner supplies fire wood! The hot tub was perfect after a day of skiing! The house has panoramic mountain views! It was an awesome place to stay and we highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay in Taos over a long weekend with our two dogs! The house had everything we needed including a well-stocked supply of firewood! We enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace & firepit outside while our dogs were contained in the backyard. There were a few pet friendly properties that we looked at but not many have enclosed backyards. What a bonus! We have stayed in many vacation rentals and this home by far exhibited the nicest accommodations and amenities we have experienced. You can tell how much the owners love thier home! We thoroughly enjoyed the dining in Taos and were lucky to be there during the hot air balloon rally. I would highly recommend Taos as a vacation destination along with this amazing home. Hope to come back soon!

Good communication with owner. Helpful local information. Well equipped house with condiments. Private back yard with mountain view. Property was clean and well maintained. Comfortable beds; warm blankets and tastefully decorated. We'd certainly stay there again.

Wonderful Taos house!

My husband, two sons, and our two dogs spent a long weekend at this home. We really enjoyed the hot tub, fireplace, and outdoor firepit. The home is beautifully furnished, very clean, and wonderfully equipped, including the kitchen. Stan was very nice and great to work with. We really enjoyed Orlando's, a family-run Mexican restaurant recommended by him, too. I would definitely recommend this vacation home and hope to return sometime!
