Gwendolyn and I are retired academics, now dividing our time between three residences and traveling the world as time permits. Our four year old Yorkshire Terrier accompanies us almost everywhere.
On retiring, we decided we wanted to enjoy the warmth and sunshine, warm water and warm people of the Virgin Islands. It is a little more complicated than that, but look for the details in Gwendolyn's upcoming Virgin Islands counterpart to A Year in Provence!
We enjoy the peace and quiet, the lovely beach, the private pool, the breathtaking sight of the world's largest cruise ships slipping by at dinner time on the gallery. We will take a drive up to Fort Segarra for moonlit romance on the cliff overlooking the southern side of Water Island. But most of all we enjoy our friends and neighbors and the easy-going ambience of life on Water Island. The Monday Night Movie on the Beach, Heidi's gourmet dinners on the beach on Saturday nights, midnight dips in our private, lighted pool, and morning showers in the two-person show stalls with a view of turquoise waters. Once or twice a week we will take in a restaurant, regatta, or West Indian celebration for a little spice in our lives.
