We are a skiing family of three. We have our daughter on the Kirkwood Ski Team and love everything about Kirkwood all year round. We love the local feel of the resort.
Chris Garcia purchased this condo in 2011
We have been skiing at Kirkwood for years due to the lack of crowds and the excellent challenging mountain. The highest elevation in Tahoe means better and more snow! When other resorts are getting spring rain Kirkwood tends to get spring snow-more March and April powder days than any other resort in Tahoe. We purchased our condo because it was so close to the lifts.
Short walks to chair lifts and village. 3 bars/restaurants just steps away from our front door. Walk to everything!
We spent a fantastic 13 days over Christmas and New Year just relaxing and skiing in the nice little resort of Kirkwood. It was exactly what we were looking for.
The Condo is in a great location, easy walk to the lifts and even skied back to the door on a powder day! The owners Chris and his family were helpful in anything we needed, and even took us to the hot tubs on a few occasions.
Excellent cosy condo. All the essentials and perfect location at the base of the lifts. Owners were friendly and on hand to help with any problems. Perfect for a short skiing vacation!
We loved this place! We literally parked the car on our arrival and didn't get back in it until we drove home. The owner was very helpful. The condo was clean and neat.
Great location, cute and comfortable accommodations. Very helpful owner.
Chris's place is tidy and clean. It's got a basic kitchen/living room/bunk bed/dining nook main room with a fireplace, a master bedroom, and a bathroom. Sleeps 5 , though 3 people sleep in a bunk with double below and single above.
The location is good, and close enough though farther from the lifts than we were expecting. Probably a 5 minute walk in ski boots. Again, the hot tubs are a 5 minute walk away in a different building (the KCA), not part of the BaseCamp building. Parking was very convenient. Ample firewood, and some nice touches like WIFI and an iPod stereo docking station. Nice to be close to the General Store.
Very cool that the cross country trail passes right next to the building.
Chris was very prompt at communicating and we appreciated his flexibility.
The only problem we experienced was that the hot water ran out just as my daughter put conditioner on her hair. Seems like they need a larger tank or to turn the temperature up so hot water lasts longer.
We really enjoyed Chris's cozy condo in Base Camp, he was very gracious and helped us out with a late checkout.
