Ambergris Caye Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Brand new, 1st floor, Ocean Front condo located just north of San Pedro Town. 4 steps down off your 8' x 20' patio and your toes will be in sand. Walk 10 steps forward and your toes will be in the ocean. This condo is one of a kind within Grand Caribe and there are no others like it for rent. While seated in your spacious living room, you will look out 12 foot wide sliding glass doors and see nothing but beach, palm trees, and ocean. The view is completely unadulterated. This unique 1BR condo is also the largest 1BR within Grand Caribe, 1120 sq feet with full kitchen, living room, candle lit private bedroom, and bath with 2 person shower.

Grand Caribe is the premier community on Ambergris Caye. The property hosts the largest swimming pool in Belize and has consistently excellent service. The swim up pool bar offers refreshments and excellent food. Several excellent restaurants are within walking distance. The on-site concierge is happy to assist with any request and is an excellent resource to arrange activities such as snorkel, diving, tours, golf cart rental, and restaurant reservations.

This resort sets a new standard for service and amenities on Ambergris Caye.

*** Make sure you review photo number 4. We are one of only a few condos here that is directly on the beach. You have the best of both worlds, privacy and unadulterated ocean views while the pools and amenities are just a few hundred feet away.

Quiet, relaxing get away

  • 5 of 5

I could spend a long time writing about how wonderful our experience was, but I'll keep it short. The condo is beautiful. As other have said the pictures do it justice. We had coffee on the patio every morning, and cocktails every evening. Listening to the waves lap against the shore, the cool breeze, the gorgeous views. Just what the doctor ordered. My wife and I celebrated our 20 year anniversary and we picked the perfect place. They decorated the condo prior to our arrival so when we walked in the word "anniversary" was spelled out on the bed in flower petals. Our stay started off on the right foot and kept on going.

The resort and staff were wonderful. Very helpful, very attentive and always at your beck and call. I had some problems with the Wi-Fi that were addressed within the hour. We ended up ordering food (restaurants are reasonable, groceries are not) so we could have some snacks in between meals. We would eat breakfast out most days (walking distance to a couple very good breakfast spots), would have a snack for lunch then eat an early dinner. Oh, and buy your liquor at the duty free shop at the airport. About 60% cheaper than on the island. My only real complaint about the resort is that there really isn't anything going on at night, and once the sun goes down it is DARK. If nightlife and crazy partying is your thing be prepared to go downtown. The new Rain restaurant on site is beautiful and the food is great. We ate there a few times and they have a rooftop lounge that is great for an after dinner drink.

The beach is weedy but they clear it every day. No biggie. We went during the low season so there were plenty of chairs to be had either at the pool or on the beach. It's refreshing not to have to get up at 5am to reserve a place to sit.

We did not rent a golf cart (the drivers in town are a bit more aggressive than I care to be, especially the cabs) so we either walked on the beach or took the water taxi, which I found to be very convenient. You can literally walk for miles right on the beach.

All in all it was a great trip. The locals are incredible. They speak English, take American currency and are some of the most polite people I have ever met. If you haven't been to Ambergris Caye you should go. If you go, stay at Mikes Condo. We'll be back!

Absolutely awesome

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I decided to travel to Belize for our 25th anniversary. This was our first trip to Belize and we can't wait to go back. We were promptly picked up at the airport and upon arrival, we were so delighted to see how beautiful it was. The condo was perfect for the two of us and was equipped with everything we needed. We loved sitting on the porch with the fabulous view of the ocean. The service at the Grand Caribe was outstanding. The maids service was certainly a huge bonus. They even did our laundry for us. Yes, the condo is equipped with a washer and dryer so you don't have to pack as much. Aside from falling in love with Belize, we fell in love with the Belizean people. The staff were all so helpful and were so nice.

The food and drinks at the Grand Caribe is just mediocre and pricey but the condo is close to many good eateries within walking distance or by golf cart. When we arrived the roads were horrendous but by the time we left, they had made huge progress and by the time we return, I trust that the 2-mile trip downtown will be breeze. A golf cart is a must. We visited the ATM Cave which the resort arranged for us. Again everything went perfectly! To our surprise, the guided tour prices at the resort were comparable or even cheaper than those found downtown. The only disappointment we had was that the beach was not as inviting as we had hoped. There were lots of weeds but all we had to do is walk on the dock to jump in the ocean. Aside from the main pool, there is a pool outside the condo which we used and served as our private pool. The Wi-Fi in the condo also worked very well. We can't wait to go back!

Gorgeous Location on A Fantastic Island

  • 5 of 5

I absolutely adore Ambergris Caye and Grand Caribe is one of the ideal places to check it out. Just 2 miles from downtown (a quick boat ride or golf cart jaunt) but in Tres Coco - maybe the best "neighborhood" on the island. Close to great restaurants, the island's BEST bar - the Palapa Bar, great snorkeling...and the HUGE pool at the resort. Comfortable, beautiful, fantastic view of the ocean...I loved it. I bet you will too. LOVE BELIZE!

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I are in our 70's and have done a lot of traveling. This was the most efficient, organized, well run vacation we have ever had. Everything from airport transportation to Grand Caribe, water taxis, golf carts, went without a flaw. Condo was perfect, had minor problem with air conditioning, but was fixed within 2 hours. Golf carts were fun, trips to town and back were on a very bumpy dirt road, but by now the new paved road that was just about completed will make the trips to town a breeze. Will revisit this condo again!

Excellent location for a relaxing vacation

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I stayed here as a birthday get away. The condo was just as described and pictured. You are literally steps away from the ocean and the view is fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. For those interested in doing yoga, there is a great location down the beach at Ak'Bol's that offers daily yoga and great smoothies. There are several great restaurants within walking location including Aji's and the new Rain restaurant. The only downside to the great location is that the beach is a main thoroughfare with people riding bikes. Also, there is no full divider on the patio between the two condo units so privacy is diminished if someone in the next unit is also enjoying their patio. Also, the hot tubs in the resort are not well maintained. However, it is a great destination for relaxing and the snorkeling can't be beat. Make sure to bring bug spray as the mosquitos can be bad especially on the patio at night. Also, bring a flashlight if you want to walk to restaurants in the evening as it is very dark along the beach.
