We also had a great time at this perfectly situated cabin where we spent several days cooking, hiking, bbqing, reading and of course relaxing. Of the four of us, plus pup, we each had a different favorite part, from the fully-equipped kitchen for cooking and baking (me), to the deck and bbq (all of us), the leather seat for reading (the readers in the group), to the beautiful field that sits in back of property (the pup and explorers), we all spread out and reconvened daily. Paul, the owner, was also responsive and provided great information on the cabin and the surrounding areas so you will be well taken care of. Can't wait to go back!
From the other reviews I already had high expectations but I was still surprised. The location is very secluded being a long driveway off the very quiet road. The cottage was very comfortable and well stocked.
As others have said the pictures here are nice but the reality was even better. If you are looking to get away i doubt you could find a more suitable place.
We spent a wonderful couple of days at this cottage with our two sons -- the views in the main room are really stunning, and the place on the whole is charming and well laid out. There's a lake a short drive away that the kids enjoyed greatly....(and an X Box with many games they also liked). But, really, we could have spent all day just relaxing on the deck looking at the view. We didn't meet the owner but in all our correspondence with him he was helpful and kind.
If you feel exhausted of stress and sounds of the City - this place is perfect to recharge. Mesmerizing views from all the windows. Quiet, clean, cozy. There is a weak Wi-Fi signal and no TV, but that was exactly what we wanted - far from all of it. There is a good stash of computer games and you can bring DVD to watch movies if it is difficult to handle just sounds of the nature and some entertainment is needed. We did not go out at all. We were reading our Kindles by the fireplace and were sitting on the porch watching ever changing clouds and shadows travelling on the hills. And, yes, at night sky is full of stars.
We stayed here for the entire month of March and it will be one of the most memorable of our lives. My fiancee and I are skiers living in the central/northern section of nj and love Belleayre Mountain. We decided to rent this cabin for the month and it was not enough. As cozy as it gets inside with a wood burning insert stove, as beautiful as it gets outside with mountain views all out the back window and doors. Extremely quiet and private with a nice parcel of mountain land all to your self. Paul was excellent. Very helpful with information and gives the utmost care and concern that all your needs are met in regards to the house. PROMPT with return calls, emails and texts which is important to me. There is a Sam's deli 5 min down the road for anything that you need or forgot, a grill in the back...literally nothing more that we could ask for except for more time up there.....was very sad to have to give it up. If you need a weekend away in any season where peace and quiet, solitude and just pure mountain beauty and air are required... I could not recommend a place any more than I can this. Thanks again for everything Paul.....see you soon. :)
My husband and I went with our small dog and loved it. The pictures don't do the view justice -- coming from New York we really felt like we had gotten away from it all. There is only one other house on the road and it is far away and only visible from behind the house, so sitting in the living room you look out the sliding glass doors at the huge fields and mountains, you hear the creek running, and it is really peaceful and totally private. We went in winter and saw it both before a snow and after, both ways were amazing. The fireplace in the living room is great, and the cabin itself is cozy and lovely. My only suggestions would be to add blinds to the bathroom window, and maybe have a separate designated heater for the bedroom. Otherwise, just a great time. Doggy loved it too.
Ten minutes from Belleayre Mountain: skiing, snow shoeing, summer concerts.
