Il Trebbio is a converted 3-bedrooms holiday self catering farmhouse on a hillside overlooking the wonderful medieval town of Barga (Tuscany, Lucca province), with the Serchio valley and the Apuan Alps beyond: this stunning panorama is its finest asset, which no guest yet has failed to appreciate. The area is totally unspoiled. There is a village shop, hotel and restaurant at the hamlet of Albiano, 5 minutes walk away. Barga is about 5 minutes away by car, Lucca 35 minutes.
Barga is in a strategic position to plan your visit to the most important tuscan cities like Florence, Pisa, Siena.Very close to Barga the wonderful heaven of “Cinque Terre” and the famous sea place of Versilia too.Obviously Barga itself and its surroundings are absolutely wonderful, rich in art works, natural parks and great wine and food!
An indirect evidence of the gorgeous heaven offered at Il Trebbio, with its quite, large, panoramic green park, its warm atmosphere and above all our hospitality is the guests percentage that came back: second time 60%, third time 40%!
All of them confirm to us, with gratifying happiness, that Il Trebbio really represents the Tuscan Heaven!!!
The house has central heating so it is available year-round; most of the spring/summer/late summer season usually is near to be completely booked from February, so it is a good idea to make plans well in advance.

This was our first time visiting Italy and what a wonderful place to begin our adventure. We were 2 couples traveling and Diego's home was the perfect spot for us. At first we thought the drive up into albiano a bit daunting but now after 3 weeks in Italy, it was a piece of cake! We made Il Trebio our home base and did day trips to Florence, Lucca, the Cinque Terra and La Spezia. We actually went to Florence on 2 separate days. We drove to Lucca, parked the car at the train station and took the train into Florence...a wise decision. We also took the train from Lucca, via Florence over to Venice for 2 nights, another wonderful trip. Back to the house...the bedrooms were upstairs and very spacious and each had it's own large bathroom with roomy showers. the view out the bedroom windows looked across the valley to Barga. I took many pictures of this beautiful scene whenever the light changed. The kitchen was well equipped and modern. The kettle sprung a leak one day and we mentioned it to Diego and the next morning, a brand new one was at the house! We enjoyed our breakfast on the patio every morning and spent countless hours basking in the sun on the patio enjoying our wine. We spent 2 weeks at this lovely home and miss it terribly! Diego's mother, Amelia and father, Angelo came by to visit during our time as well. Between a bit of our French and improving Italian and their ability to speak some English, we had some terrific animated conversations. Google translator got a workout as well. Anyone staying here will be very glad they did!
