Welcome to the Eagle's Nest! We thoroughly hope that you enjoy your stay and the peaceful beauty of Northern Idaho. We’ve had many new guests this year and hope they will share their wonderful experiences with you. Thank you for visiting!
Booked the Eagle's Nest for me and my husband to explore the Northwest. From beginning to end the owner and manager were very helpful and friendly. The cabin far exceeded every expectation we had. Beautiful views, comfortable living areas/bedrooms and best of all CLEAN AND NEAT! Full kitchen with all of the tools was also very helpful. Close proximity to many different national parks and plenty of things to see and do. The animals that visited us during our stay was a bonus. Saw lots of deer and turkeys! I hope that we can come back soon!
This is our 3rd year staying at the Eagles Nest. My wife and I look forward to our week in the "nest" as much as anything we do all year. We are hooked!
The house is beautiful and immaculate. The views from the deck and out the back window are inspirational. We love feeding the deer (food is provided) and watch them come by to snack. They are beautiful animals. The turkeys that come by are pretty cool too.
Although this is an excellent place to just "kick back" there is plenty to do if you choose. We visited Glacier Nat'l Park last year and took a day trip up to Canada this year. We rode the ferry across Lake Kootenai to Nelson. Creston is only a 45 minute drive north just across the border and is a nice place to go for breakfast or have a cup of coffee.
In short, a very clean house, everything works, and the amenities listed are not overstated. There is attention to detail throughout the home. The views in the photos are not enhanced!
In short, Annie is a great owner and Dennis and his staff do an excellent job maintaining the house and grounds. You won't be disappointed.
My sisters and I stayed here for a week, and loved the place. Gorgeous view, good star gazing lots of birds and also deer. All food for the animals are provided and the kitchen supplies are to die for. I wish my home kitchen was so well supplied. Owner extremely cooperative and responsive as well as the caretaker. Lots of hiking trails nearby and a northern Pygmy Owl hoots at night. We loved it
The Eagle's Nest is the best experience we have had after 20+ VRBO stays in the states and abroad. We stayed there for 3 weeks. Anne (owner) and on-site personnel (Dennis & Janet) are friendly, accommodating, and genuinely interested in having their guests have a good experience. The shop and restaurant owners in town and nearby towns are also very nice.
We were there primarily to hike the trails in the Selkirks and Cabinet Mountains. We also enjoyed the time in the Kootenai Wildlife Refuge and taking drives on rainy days to nearby towns (Sandpoint, Libby, Yaak River area). In the process, we saw many animals: elk, mountain goat, bald and golden eagles, flocks of white pelicans, moose (bull, cows & calf), golden bears, deer, turkey, osprey, falcon, big-horn sheep, hummingbirds, and other woodland creatures. We saw many rivers, streams, and waterfalls in the lush forests that smelled of pine and occasionally cinnamon.
Equally memorable were the beautiful sights and sounds inside the house or from the porch, looking down on the valley with the Kootenai River down the middle and Selkirks and Cabinets (mountains) on either side of the expansive panoramic view, with bright yellow canola (rape) plants growing in the valleys. We were fortunate to have our first morning feature the huge super moon setting at 5 am. Luckily we had our camera handy! Not quite as fortunate with the camera was trying to capture the July fireworks going into the air right below us on the Kootenai, with the sounds of the Union Pacific and Burlington Northern railroads blowing their whistles in the distance. Honestly, could anyone have arrange a more idyllic experience?
We have been many places around the world and find this the most memorable and enjoyable experience of all. It was a delight for all of the senses and we are counting the days until we can return again.
The Eagles Nest was one of the finest vacation homes we have rented over the years ~ !! Spacious, well stocked with everything you could ever want ~ but, the views ! ...... THAT VIEW ! Fantastic. The huge wrap-around deck offers the most spectacular scenery ~ from the snow-capped mountains, green valleys, bald eagles soaring ~ it is truly hard to beat !
You won't want to go anywhere else .... We are already making plans to return. Just hope that not too many people find out about this place ! ~ lol
This was our second stay at the Eagle's Next with our two small kids, and we're already planning to return next year. We have stayed in vacation rentals all over the U.S. and Canada, and this one tops them all. The house itself is beautiful, spacious, comfortable and well-stocked, but the decks and the views have to be seen to be believed. The location is perfect for hiking, fishing, huckleberry picking and other outdoor activities, and there is no better way to finish a day of hiking than to come back to this lovely home and relax on the deck while watching the sun set over the mountains. We can't say enough good things about this property, as well as its owner and caretaker...we hope this will be a vacation spot for our family for many years to come. Thank you, Eagle's Next!
