My husband and I just spent four nights at this wonderful condo and had a fantastic mini-vacation in Lake Placid. The quality condo is beautiful, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and contains everything you need. We received clear directions to the property and easy access inside. The location is superb - a quiet wooded spot but within a few minutes of the town and many activities. There is a large basket of information about the area and previous guests left recommendations for dining and hiking. We would highly recommend this condo to others and would love to go back.

Owner's Response: Thank you so very much for such wonderful feedback. It is very important to us that our guests be comfortable and have every opportunity to enjoy Lake Placid and the condo. Being able to relax and enjoy where you are staying is so very important. This is something we provide to our guests. The natural beauty of Lake Placid, with all of its sites, trails, views, restaurants, etc., takes care of the rest.

Margaret's home is beautiful and in a perfect location to explore Lake Placid and the surrounding Adirondacks. The condo was clean and wonderfully decorated. The kitchen was fully stocked for easy cooking in the evenings and we were close by to great dining. We came without plans for our week stay, but Margaret had a basket full of nearby activities to keep us entertained for weeks - hiking trails within walking distance, walks around the Whiteface resort, and traveling into town for food and shopping. We hope to be back soon!

Owner's Response: It is a pleasure when our guests enjoy the Lake Placid area and our DancingBear condo. We wanted our condo to be comfortable, attractive, and easy to be in. It's location is just perfect for outdoor activites like golf or tennis, hiking and skiing, and great dining is so nearby. The natural beauty just speaks for itself and is breath taking. Thank you so much for your review.

Perfect getaway for two!

Our stay at this beautiful condo is one we will always remember! We were looking for a reasonably-priced way to enjoy the Lake Placid area but we got so much more. It's easy to experience apprehension when booking accommodations "sight unseen." REST ASSURED...what you read in the description and see in the pictures is exactly what you'll enjoy. The owner has painstakingly ensured that your every need is met if you choose to relax inside this lovely home. When eating in, we took advantage of the convenience of the nearby grocery store. One evening we had them steam some lobsters for us and we ate our fill. When we ventured out, we found we were conveniently located close to most everything. We found a wonderful restaurant--The Hungry Trout--overlooking the Flume Falls section of the West Branch of the Ausable River. The food was delicious! When we return to the Adirondacks--and we hope it will be soon--this will be our first and only choice for accommodations. Thank you for making our stay so memorable!

Owner's Response: It is so rewarding to have guests at the condo be able to be comfortable, relaxed and easily able to enjoy their time away. We aimed to make the space easy to be in, and a complement to the beautiful surroundings. Thank you so much for such a wonderful review.

We spent a week at this great condo, and I cant say enough positive. The place was spotless, with every comfort of home! Great location, with great biking and hiking, and many great restaurants in very close proximity. We had great weather, which certainly helped, and enjoyed a bunch of good restaurants on the lake(placid and Mirror) for lunch, cocktails and dinner. The Moosehead Lodge for drinks and dinner was walking distance and very reasonable. Lake Placid Lodge was pricey, for dinner, but worth it, great service and food, but even just for cocktails on the lawn and to see the inside(Maggies pub) was worth it! The Cottage on Mirror lake was a great lunch spot, and Dancing Bears roof top deck was good for the view and a late lunch(Veggie pizza was amazing)!...A little dissapointed with the Boathouse restaurant, and Generations restaurant, but the view was good at the boathouse, and people watching was good at Generations! Did a lot of biking..the people at Planet Cycle had some great maps of the area and Saranac Lake and Ironman route, so we had a lot of fun riding! Rented paddleboards from EMS and had a great time, ...$25/4 hrs...dont rent from the place at the end of the street in the back..$25 for 1 hr!! Also ate at Tail of the Pup...Good BBQ on Rt 86 heading toward Saranac..great people watching and good food too! All in all, a great week, and I would highly recommend this condo, price is a lot more reasonable than a hotel, plus it was nice to be able to cook breakfast there. Owners left dishwasher deterg, laundry deterg, which was an added plus!! Was GREAT!
Owner's Response: Thanks so very much for the wonderful review. The Dancing Bear Condo is in a great location...easy walking distance to three great restaurants in summer, and two the rest of the year, as well as hiking, golf, tennis, x-country skiing, biking. Leslie has done a fabulous service for any visitor with her restuarant reviews, and it's really great to know there are so many places downtown where you can have beautiful views of the lake and mountains. There certainly is no shortage of places to go downtown for: shopping, galleries, the sports arena, swimming, skating, boating, and of course, eating. Thanks again.

Perfect summer gettaway from New York City

My husband and I decided to make the most of Memorial weekend and get out of the city for a couple of days upstate. Margaret (the owner) was incredibly fast to respond and even gave me first refusal when another couple made enquiries into the condo.

The condo was just up the hill from Lake Placid town, set in quiet cul-de-sac, and as the advert says, walking distance from everything including the lake itself. The condo was beautifully presented, pristine, and homely without feeling cluttered. The kitchen had everything you needed, including a garlic crusher! The deck with the BBQ was ideal for our evening meals, and the wifi proved to be very useful as there was limited cell-signal.

I would recommend walking down to the Moose lodge for an evening drink overlooking the lake (we didn't eat here, but the menu looked delicious). You can also hire canoes and kayaks from here, which makes for a wonderful way to see the lake and all the gorgeous houses lining the water. The Jack-Rabbit trail takes you down to a couple of wooden piers which you can swim from. We also walked up Mount Jo, which gave us a stunning vista of the area.

This place is the ideal summer (or winter) gettaway for a couple.
Owner's Response: First I would like to thank Joanna for such a wonderful review. We love it at the condo, and so much enjoy all that Lake Placid offers that we are always thrilled when others enjoy it as well. We love to cook so the kitchen is equipped with just about anything a cook might need. Eating at the condo or going out to the Moose Lodge or the Lake Placid Lodge for meals is so easy...just a short walk to some wonderful food and truly fabulous views of the lake and mountains.
In addition to the activities Joanna mentioned that she and her husband enjoyed, the condo is just steps from a championship golf course and tennis courts or cross country skiing...depending on the season. It's also just great to either sit on the deck or by the fireplace, and just relax!!! No place you have to go and nothing you have to do.
