Nearly new guest house with panoramic view of beautiful Lake Arenal and Arenal Volcano. Quiet and peaceful, yet only 10 minutes to Arenal town and 15 minutes to the larger town of Tilaran. World famous Monte Verde cloud forest is only 60 minutes drive, and the town of La Fortuna, home to active Arenal Volcano and various hot springs is only 45 minutes away. Just below us, in the tiny village of Rio Piedras, is the best spot in the Lake for windsurfing and kite boarding.
Almost all of the attractions of Guanacaste Province are within a few hours drive including Liberia international airport [closer and easier than San Jose], the Pacific Beaches of Nicoya, rafting and kayaking on the Corobici and Cariari Rivers, and zip lining at Monte Verde and near La Fortuna on the side of the volcano..
Our climate is almost perfect, low 80's during the day and upper 60's or low 70's at night, so airconditioning is never needed. The local Costa Ricans, also called Ticos, are very friendly and helpful and make foreign visitors feel welome and appreciated. Some knowledge of Spanish is helpful, but most Ticos understand some English and will do almost anything to help!

We own an export company in Florida and have homes in North Carolina and Costa Rica, spending half our time in each place. We are more or less retired with 3 grown sons and 6 grand children..
Having traveled the Caribbean and Central America on business for 25 years, we found this area of Costa Rica to have the best climate and quality of life! Crime is low, the locals are very friendly to visitors and the pace of life is slow and laid back.
The lake is surrounded by all kinds of unique restaurants, from the tiny family owned "Sodas" serving "comidas tipicas" to the world class cuisine at the Gingerbread in Arenal or Brisas del Lago
near Tronodora. Even more culinary options in nearly Tilaran or at the other end of the lake in La Fortuna.
Zip lines, canopy tours, bird watching, kite boarding and windsurfing.
