Located at the top of the beach park road, this home is surrounded on two sides by private waterfront. Overlooking mangrove islands, watch as egrets and herons soar gracefully in to fish for their supper, see the fish jump as dolphins come through, observe rays swimming by, or drop a line to try and hook a redfish or snook.
Head out in one of our double kayaks, canoe or fishing boat to view it all up close. Or just hang out and watch gorgeous sunsets over the water. After all, that's what you came to Florida to enjoy!
This is our personal getaway retreat, completely updated this year and decorated in a 'Tommy Bahama' island style. Our home sleeps 6 privately and comfortably, and is fully furnished and equipped to meet all your needs for fishing, boating, kayaking, biking, enjoying the beach at the end of our road, and relaxing at home with games, video library, books, toys and games for the kids.
Just down the road is historic New Port Richey, beautiful parks, an open ampitheater that features live music. The river district, movies, bowling, laser tag and family game center are all in town. The New Port Richey Community Center is just 5 minutes from our house and offers 3 pools, a water slide complex, tennis and basketball courts, indoor gym and basketball center, fitness classes and more. Sun Cruises is just around the corner and the sport fishing and gambling cruise boats.
A short drive south is historical Tarpon Springs - a Greek fishing and sponge diving village; Tampa, Clearwater, Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. A short drive north brings you to Homassassa Springs (amazing canoeing, kayaking and nature walk), Weeki-Wachee, and Silver Springs.
For those who need a Disney or Universal fix, it's about an 80 minute drive across I-4 to all the wonders of Orlando, then you can come back to the peace and quiet of home to relax.

I live in SE Florida with my husband and 3 sons. Born in Scotland, I grew up outside of Chicago and am happy to reside in the sunshine state!! :)
Brenda Alber purchased this house in 2008
We rented in this area 10 years ago and absolutely loved it. It truly is an area of natural beauty and we had a realtor watch for a home for us. Two years later, this property came available and we fell in love with the privacy of the location and the outlook - you truly feel that you are away from it all. The house itself is open and inviting, and after a flood last year, we have completely redone the entire interior, so it is brand new house now. We love it.
Lovely setting with a perfect hangout space in the backyard. Upon arrival we realized that fishing equipment was missing. Owner sent supplies over right away so we could fish from the back deck. We loved using the canoe and kayaks. The kitchen was well equipped so we were able to cook most meals at home. I highly recommend!
Very nice n lots of space . Nice back yard that look out on the water with a wonderful dock. The owner was very helpful with all of my needs. We will stay there if working in area again. There was a pool table n kayak n canoe for use.
My family of 5 spent 11 days on Heavens Way. We hit the area hard with an different activity for each day. Swam with Manatees up at Crystal Spring, Paddled with gators at Myakka State Park, deep sea fished on a trip 13 miles off shore, rented a pontoon boat just down the street and spent a great day on Anclote Key (forget the sand bar, go to north beach and anchor there and walk around to the west side of the island for the most private and secluded beach you have ever seen). Each evening I would pack up my car and drive a few short minutes to Anclote Park and fish for trout off the pier. I would see dolphin most nights and every night I saw Manatees. We spent some time down at Tampa at the Aquarium and touring the USS American Victory (WWII ship anchored behind the Aquarium). If that wasn't enough we would launch the canoe from the back yard and paddle around the tidal waters. We saw birds beyond belief! My daughter is an avid birder and saw 97 different bird species. We paddled out to Green key and visited a resident Gar that hung out in the same spot. Each morning I would get up and go for a run. Out the door go right on Heavens way and right for a 100 yards or so on Green Key road. Take that left and pick up a sidewalk that keeps you off the street and in a safe area. I never worried about my 15 and 19 year old daughters being out on a run. I think the best time was walking North Beach on Honeymoon. the walk is 2.5 miles one way so not a lot of people make the trip. the fishing on the end is terrific. We saw dolphin all three times we walked the beach. So much to do within a reasonable drive. The house was great and very reasonably priced. I have to say the owners were some of the nicest and easiest to deal with and we have rented from VRBO 20 plus times. The only downer is Rout 19 can be a pain to drive. This would be true of any rental so if you are looking for a perfect spot to relax and enjoy.... look no further
This is such a great retreat. I sat on the deck for sunrises and sunsets looking out at the bayou. Just before I left a dolphin passed by the deck. The owner leaves kayaks, canoes and even a small motor boat for your use. Several bikes are also there. I was the only human on the bayou Monday through Friday. I guess all of the other redidents are working. The weekend do have some activity. I highly recommend a visit.
WE spent 3 weeks here in January 2014. Setting is very quiet and with some of the best waterbird watching you will ever encounter. The waterfront house was clean, spacious and had WiFi and large flat screen tv. The kitchen appeared new and was well equipped with the exception of a large frying pan . There are also 2 kayaks, a canoe and a large jon boat for water activities. Kayak fishing was great and I caught sea trout, red-fish, snook, flounder and mangrove snappers. Every morning we walked about a mile to a quiet Gulf front park with public beach and a long raised walkway through the mangroves to the Gulf. Although quiet the location is close to restaurants, shops and the Sponge Docks at Tarpon Springs. We had a great time!
What a treasure! The home is gorgeous inside, with plenty of room for everyone...we had 4 kids with us, and there was something to entertain everyone, especially the pool table! Spent the week fishing from dock, launching our kayaks into the bayou and out into the Gulf, relaxing by the grill, enjoying dramatic sunsets, and exploring what the area has to offer. Rented a pontoon to explore Anclote, paddle boarded at Dunedin Causeway, enjoyed Greek food in Tarpon Springs, and checked out Tampa/St.Pete. Thank you for sharing your slice of paradise with us!
