Jonesport Cabin Rental Photos and Description
2 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, spacious, open floor plan, easily sleeps 6
This gorgeous 2,500 square foot waterfront home was designed to be as comfortable as home yet different enough that you feel like you are 'away'. The house is bright, open and warm with hand rubbed cedar walls and over 30 windows. There are incredible views of the sunset over the river from the main room with its 25 foot ceilings and south facing wall of windows. The views abound as all rooms orient to the water.
Though secluded and private, you are minutes from town and the lobster wharf (think lobster off the boat). There are miles of dirt road out the front door for walking or biking and the Nature Conservancy with its spectacular hikes to the open ocean is only a few miles away.
The kayaking can't be beat, just wind your way down the river to the reach. Enjoy the abundant wild life and myriads of birds. When the tide is out you can gather clams in the 'front yard'.
Local artists display their work at the library, Nelson's Decoy Gallery and Tall Barney's Restaurant
More About the House:
This house is at once luxurious and quaint. My father and I spent four years designing and building this house with the help of countless friends and family members and the result is truly a work of art. We milled all the wood floors from oak and maple trees. In fact the first floor is all spalted maple, made from a single 200 year old tree that we salvaged, creating perhaps the only spalted maple floor anywhere!. The walls are hand rubbed tongue and groove cedar that just glows in the light. The grandeur of the high ceilings offsets the cabin-like feel of the wood, lending a certain homey-ness and mystique that is truly unique.
The dining area is spacious and the custom kitchen has hand made cherry cabinets and 24' of polished concrete countertops. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a 6 burner professional Wolf stove. Above the main floor is a 600 square foot sleeping 'loft' with a master bath. The ground floor has a TV gathering room, a private bedroom and its own full bath. Enjoy sitting out to read or relax or dine alfresco on the water facing deck or patio. Don't miss using the out door shower!
The house is furnished with comfy couches and gas-burning 'woodstoves' for ambience and warmth.
Children and pets are welcome, however with the wide spaced rails on the deck and loft it is not child safe for very young children.
In town dining is limited. The local grocery is clean and well stocked. Fresh lobster, clams and mussels are to be had right off the boat. and For evenings out you are only @ 20 minutes from excellent dining in adjacent towns. Millbridge not only has a fine restaurant but a quaint movie theater. If you are lucky they will tickle the keys of the old player piano before the show starts.
Whether you are looking for some time away from it all, a romantic getaway, or some quality family time-- this is the place for you!

About Sage Aronson
I am 23 and my dad and I purchased this land together while I was in high school. Over the next four summers my dad, friends, and sister worked together to build this house. It all started on day sitting at a diner when my dad and I drew up some plans for the house on a napkin and from there on in using our skills in woodworking and consulting with fellow construction worker friends we built this gorgeous house.
Why Sage Aronson chose Jonesport
We chose this property because it was close to our family cabin that we had been living in every summer since I was 8 and so we already knew and loved the area so we thought what better way to show our love for the community than to share this special place with others.
What makes this cabin unique
This is one of the few places on earth where you can escape from the hectic chaos of everyday life and just relax in front of a gorgeous view. You will find yourself mesmerized by the small town feel as everyone waves to you as you drive by. One of my favorite memories of staying up here is laying out on the porch with a few of my friends as we all played guitar and sang and just looked up at the vast night sky. We saw 32 shooting stars that night it was truly phenomenal. There is no light pollution so on a clear night you can see the milky-way and sometimes even the northern lights. You truly couldn't ask for a more unique and beautiful place to vacation. I have been coming up here since I was 8 and my sister was 5 and we both still look forward to getting back up here and escaping all the chaos of our everyday lives and just going out on the boat or reading a book in front of the sunset. It is truly a magical place.
