Lovely Updated Cottage on Mullett Lake -- 288' Sandy Beach

The remodeled cottage finished in the fall of 2011, added a carpeted upstairs with 2 bedrooms & a bathroom with granite countertop. The rooms are light & airy. The kitchen was renovated at the same time providing new cabinetry, flooring & granite countertops. In the spring of 2012, the main floor recieved new carpet, living room furniture & all bedrooms recieved new bedding. The cabin has zoned baseboard electric heat throughout. The dining room overlooks Waller creek & woods. There is a drop-down dining table in the enclosed lakeside porch for additional seating & lake views. The living room & lakeside porch have high-beamed ceilings as does the master bedroom upstairs. Large windows throughout provide spectacular views.

You may not want to leave your haven by the lake, but for those who do venture forth, there are endless things to see & do. Dine at The Boat House before taking in an excellent performance at the historic Cheboygan Opera House 16 mi. away. Bike or hike miles & miles of groomed trails spanning northern Michigan. There are riding stables in the area. Indian River 9 mi. away is a popular site to start an exhilarating tube, raft or kayak ride down the Sturgeon R. Explore by bike sweet Victorian homes, lush gardens, fun shops, galleries, historic fort & nice restaurants on romantic & picturesque Mackinac Island. For those wanting a more leisurely pace, hire a horse & buggy & don’t miss High Tea at the Grand Hotel. Only 30 mi. from the cottage are fast ferries connecting Mackinac City to Mackinac Island. You’ll see the breathtaking & world famous Mackinac Bridge. While in Mackinac City tour the retired Coast Guard icebreaker, ‘Mackinac’ or visit Mill Creek, a replica waterfall sawmill & zip line. Also check out Fort Michilimackinac built during the American Revolution. Enjoy a cruise on the Straits of Mackinac or SCUBA dive on shipwrecks of the Great Lakes. Eighty-eight mi. from the cottage will get you on a daytime cruise or dinner cruise through the fascinating & massive Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie. For a change of pace, look for that perfect piece of art or memento to take home while strolling around the fabulous harbor towns of Petoskey, Harbor Springs & Bay Harbor, all near each other on Lake Michigan & only 30-35 mi. from the cottage. Each have nice parks, shops, galleries & restaurants to say nothing about lovely Victorian homes with manicured lawns. See Harbor Springs from the water & learn about its grand history during a free harbor tour on ‘Pointer,’ a classic historic boat compliments of Stafford’s Pier Restaurant. Nearby Boyne Highlands has excellent golf courses & the famous Young America’s Dinner Theatre.

Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing at all ~~ simply relax by the lake with a book you haven’t had time to read or gaze idly at the turquoise water as it rhythmically laps against the shore.
