Olympia House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-6)

** More photos available on our blog! You can find the link to our blog by scrolling down to the calendar & rates section. **

Cross the one-lane bridge to Treasure Island and you're instantly on island time and ready to relax. Although you're still close to town (about a one and a half hour drive from Seattle, and 30+ minutes from both Bremerton and Tacoma), you'll feel a million miles away. This is the perfect destination for a family getaway, ladies weekend, or romantic retreat! We are pet-friendly and family-friendly.

You'll love the unobstructed, waterfront views which you see from the moment you enter the house. The main level of the house includes the living room with wood-burning fireplace, kitchen, dining area, master bedroom and full bath.

The lower level has its own living area complete with TV/DVD combo, couch with full size pullout bed, a private bedroom with two twin beds, a second full bathroom, and outdoor access. The set-up makes for a great stay for families with kids or couples as the 2 levels really provide for your own space!

Relax on the large deck with a drink and your loved ones while watching the sun set from your West-facing view. Play a board game after dinner with your family in front of the fire. Visit one of the state’s remaining Drive In Theatres, located about a 20 minute drive from the house. Go for a walk or run around the island (it loops around, and is about a mile and a half). Dig for clams and cook them outside over the fire pit - or roast marshmallows there. And don't forget to enjoy the waters of the Case Inlet -- boating, swimming, fishing, kayaking and more!

Looking to explore the area? Other things to do:

- GOLF: Lakeland Village, the course at Alderbrook Resort, Trophy Lake (18 holes), and championship courses Gold Mountain (36 holes) and McCormick Woods (18 holes are all within a 30 minute drive.

- HIKE: Checkout the Theler Wetlands in Belfair, or take a 3-mile hike to the Mt. Elinor Trailhead. There are countless trails in the Olympic National Forest.

- WATER ACTIVITIES: Rent a kayak in Allyn, go swimming, dig for clams, rent a fishing pole and gear from Hood Canal Adventures in Union, visit one of the many public access boat launches or beaches for a picnic, swim, or adventure on the beach.

- DAY TRIPS: Spend a relaxing afternoon driving along US Highway 101, checking out the Hood Canal. Make stops along the way to visit Hoodsport Winery, Potlatch State Park, or seafood markets and shops in Lilliwaup and Hoodsport. Visit the High Steel Bridge, 420 feet above the Skykomish River. Other day trips include visiting Port Townsend, Bainbridge Island, Bremerton, Olympia, and of course Seattle.

- MUSEUMS & GALLERIES: Mason County Historical Museum in Shelton, McReavy House in Union, Skokomish Tribal Center and Museum in Skokomish Nation, Harstine Island Gallery in Shelton.

- CHAINSAW CARVING: Don’t miss the George Kenny School of Chainsaw Carving in Allyn.

- FARMERS MARKET: Visit the Belfair, Shelton, and Harstine Island Farmers Markets.

- WINERIES: Hoodsport Winery, Walter Dacon Wines, Mosquito Fleet Winery, Nanstad Winery, and 2 tasting rooms/gift shops: Top of the Cork in Allyn, and Cameo Boutique in Union.

The house has everything you will need for a perfect, stress-free getaway - beach towels, linens, a small but well-equipped kitchen, iPod sound docks, charcoal BBQ, servingware for entertaining, board games, cable TV, wireless internet, and so much more. You'll love the special touches we've included from Pottery Barn furnishings to Henckel cutlery.

Traveling with a large group? The lower levels of our property are perfect for tents. Traveling with kids or pets? We recently installed a gate on the deck to keep little ones and pets from trying out the stairs. We know you'll love our beach house as much as we do!

Originally purchased by our family of 4, we love creating more memories there as our family expands.

The Owner purchased this house in 2000

We originally visited Treasure Island back in the 90's with some friends who have a house on the island. Our family fell in love with the charm of the island and the one lane bridge. When this house came up for sale, we bought it! Having lived in Seattle for many years, it was just the right distance to go for a quick weekend trip, or longer. It's the Northwest area at its best!

Being directly on the waterfront is the best, with easy access for all kinds of water related activities. We have spent many summer days digging for clams right in front of the house, and cooking them right there over the firepit. We love grilling on the charcoal BBQ in the summer, and lighting a fire in the fireplace in the winter.

RELAXING ISLAND GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5
What a perfect escape for a girls week getaway! The home is a lovely little treasure with views of the water that relax you from the moment you arrive. We had everything we needed to escape and enjoy ourselves reading, enjoying gourmet meals, good conversation and wine by the fireplace on the rainy nights, and walking around the island each day to enjoy the views and meet the local residents. Can't wait to come back in the summer and take advantage of the waterfront and outside areas even more!

WONDERFUL VIEWS AMID A QUIET WOODED NEIGHBORHOOD

  • 5 of 5
We spent a weekend away at this quiet waterfront home for our 5th anniversary with our pups. The views from the house are unbelievable! We watched kayaks, tides and boats go by from the living room. And stole any moment of sunshine we could on the back deck. The thunder storms were fun too!
The decor of the home was lovely. Little touches throughout that make you feel at home. The kitchen was fully stocked. It was easy to cook all of our meals here.
The best part was dealing with the owner and staff. Emily (owner) was very responsive and easy to work with. Her staff went out of their way to leave us an anniversary card. Couldn't say enough good things about this house and overall rental experience.
We cannot wait to come back when we can enjoy some summer weather.

PEACEFUL GETAWAY!

  • 5 of 5
What a beautiful and relaxing house! Everything was well kept and organized and it definitely had everything we could need or want. The property is right on the water with amazing views from both levels of the house. We even had deer in the back yard during our stay! The water is beautiful and full of clams, mussels, and sand-dollars and the beach was perfect for a relaxing stroll. We didn't use the water since it was winter, but I'm sure it would amazing in the summer. We would recommend this to anyone and look forward to returning in the future.

RELAXING ANNIVERSARY WEEK GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5
Hi Emily - thanks so much for allowing us to rent your place for the week. We had a really nice time there, and the house is adorable. The pictures don't really do it justice; the sitting area was so comfy, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We had rain basically the entire week, but we still got out and walked around the island and over the marina. It was the perfect place to curl up with a good book (we went through 4 actually) and watch the tides. We also saw a family of 3 deer - a mom and her young ones- gorgeous. Our only wish is that there would be one covered sitting area outdoors out of the rain where we could slip on a coat, grab hot tea and a book, and enjoy the fresh air. However, that would not keep us from renting your place again. Thank you!

RELAXATION AT IT'S BEST!

Relaxation at it's best!
  • 5 of 5
This is truly a special place and one we will return to... We rented the beach house for a week really needed time to relax and decompress and boy it exceeded expectations! Upon arrival the house was clean, organized and had all essentials for the week. I first saw the amazing view from the many windows that took my breath away and immediately went out the deck to relax. I brought my dog and we headed down towards the beach where the tide was out and we walked up and down the beach. The beach is perfect for a dog and every day we spent countless hours swimming and fetching the water toys..
A friend joined me a few days later and we drove into the town of Allyn a very short trip, enjoyed shopping the antique store and then drove to Belfair where we spent time at the Farmer's Market, there was fresh jams and jellies as well as fresh salsa and other crafts so went away with a bag full of goodies! We came across another antique store and a local garage sale then headed back to the beach house to relax on the deck and watch the boats and kayakers.
Emily was so accommodating and flexible, really provided an overall wonderful experience and memories. We will definitely be back and highly recommend the beach house!

NORTHWEST ISLAND GEM

  • 5 of 5
We just returned from a 1-week stay at this island gem. By carefully reading reviews and pictures we have never had a bad VRBO experience but this location is hard to beat. The views are incredible and simply watching the tide go in and out consumed much of our week. We dug for clams twice, walked the island loop road every morning, and rode our bikes around it every night. The island is quiet and peaceful and while we were only an hour and twenty minutes away from home it truly felt like a get-away. Emily was great to work with, very responsive and the house was fully stocked with quality linens and kitchen staples; the pictures are a true representation of the home. We are a family of four with 13/17 year old kids and I can honestly say that we all enjoyed the slower pace and break from our normal hectic routines. Our only regret was not bringing a "water toy" as we watched so many kayaks, paddleboards and boats go by that we began to regret our inability to be on the water too. If you are looking for tourist attractions this may not be the place for you but if you simply want to unwind and relax THIS IS IT!
