Average accommodations, disappointed
The property management company was very professional and courteous. On the surface the condo was clean. But underneath the beds, sofas,and kitchen floor under the cabinets, it was disgusting. Some of the cabinets, were barely hanging and unusable. There was only one rack in the oven. There were outlets in the kitchen that didn't work, so we had to balance the griddle on the sink to make pancakes (we had to buy a spatula to make pancakes, & bowls for cereal). It only had a service for 4, not enough kitchen utensils, or dishes. We utilize the kitchen in the vacation homes we rent! The utensil drawer had only a handful of this and that! Lowest grade appliances, & poorly functioning. Broken lights switches, deck chairs falling apart. Unable to utilize the outdoor area due to construction. Which required us to use the front door, where we were daily met by a front desk man who harassed us for being in swim suites or barefooted. Unable to wash our feet off unless we entered the construction area to use the hose to wash, then pelted with debris being power washed off the building. Utilizing two sets of keys with four people was annoying, you can't even get to the beach without the key and you can't get in to use the bathroom unless you have the 2 different keys. Linens and towels are threadbare and well worn. Beautiful beach, a about 1.75 miles from the pier. If you have teenagers plan to stay closer to pier or closer to Ormand Beach. Overall we would not recommend to a friend or family member and we will not be back. Photos are old and did not reflect the current condition of the home. Many places to eat and entertain on the pier, fun for the teenage kids!
Owner's Response: Wow where to begin. This our first bad customer experience since we started renting this property at the beginning of 2012 and am sorry we did not meet your expectations. The pictures, video, furniture, beds, towels, linens are only a year old so if that is considered old then I guess we are not up to date there. Going forward we will provide new towels, linens and pictures every year. The last few guests who stayed in the weeks prior to you had a great time and couldn't have been happier. We try to please everyone but understand now this is impossible 100% of the time. We have a property manager who would have taken care of all your needs had you called her with an issue. She is available 24/7 as we are as well. We have 2 numbers on the vrbo site and tell all of our guests to let us know if they need Anything. I am glad to hear you were told to not walk around in bare feet as this could be a liability issue for the Condo Association. As far as the cleaning our property manager said she was there when you checked in and the place looked great and you had no complaints. We have made sure going forward our cleaning person will clean in all places not visible. We assumed this was being done. As far as the painting and the improvements being made to the building we are not in control of the scheduling and am sorry this was an issue for you. No one living in the building or any other guests that have stayed complained of being as you say pelted by debris. We have a guest who stayed with us last April and are staying again for the rest of the month of April this year. They checked in right after you and said they are having a great time. If they or any future guest has any issue at all we take care of it Immediately as we have in the past. We are not on site and only visit the property once or twice a year. This is why we utilize and pay a property manager to take care of any issue that may arise. However we can do Nothing if we are only told after you leave. There was a spacthula at the residence and we have enough plates and silverware for 6+. My wife and I work very hard, as am sure you do as well. We have 2 little girls who we try to make as happy as we can and know how important a vacation is. We tried to contact these folks via email and phone and have not received a response to discuss the matter. Thanks for the comments as we are Always looking to improve our property for our present & future guests and am sorry you won't be one of them. Take Care.
