RENOVATED BROWNSTONE NEAR SYMPHONY HALL

Boston House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8-14)

Exceptional 3600sf Boston Brownstone (sleeps 8 - 14) located in the charming Symphony Hall area of Boston’s highly desirable Back Bay neighborhood.

We’ve previously rented vacation homes in Wisconsin and Nantucket, MA, for our own family vacations and we were disappointed with the availability of large rental homes here in Boston. So, we acquired this home, which features various sleeping configurations for large parties on multiple floors, recently updated kitchens and baths, a lower level area perfect for seniors or an au pair/nanny, rare rear parking (one covered space), nearby parks, shopping and restaurants galore. This is a perfect residence for a large multi-generational family vacation, relatives attending a Boston wedding, a ladies trip to Boston, a guy’s trip to Fenway, or for a key birthday, anniversary or College graduation celebration. It beats the heck out of staying in the expensive hotels of the Boston-area.

Located at 8 Symphony Road, the residence is located 2 blocks away from the MBTA Green Line E's Symphony Stop at Huntington Ave. Also, numerous Colleges (i.e. Berklee College of Music, Boston Conservatory, Northeastern University, New England Conservatory of Music, etc.), Museums (Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and Museum of Fine Arts) and other attractions are within walking distance or a very short taxi ride, including The Christian Science Mother Church, Duck Tours, Hop On/Off Bus, Historic Fenway Park, The Prudential Center, Hynes Convention Center and famed-Newbury Street and Bolyston Street's Premier Shopping and Restaurant areas.

Lower Level – (sleeps 2) Rear entry from parking area with One Bedroom (King), Full Bath, Laundry and Fitness Room – Perfect for Seniors, Au Pair or Nanny.

Parlor Level - First Floor (sleeps 0-2) – Front Entry Foyer, Full Kitchen, Large Living/Dining Room Grand Parlor Area with Queen Sofa Sleeper.

Second Floor (sleeps 2-4) – Master Bedroom (King), Full Bath, Family Room with Queen Sofa Sleeper and Library.

Third Floor (sleeps 4-6) – Bedroom #3 (Two Twin Beds, which can be made into a King on request), Smaller Bedroom #4 with Day/Trundle Bed and a separate Loft Area with Queen Sofa Sleeper, Full Bath

PARKING: In addition to the One-Car Carport behind our home, we also own a Parking Space in a Nearby Surface Lot, which is available at no additional charge.

WARNING: This property is available exclusively through VRBO and HomeAway and from the owner/manager, Tim and Natalie Hyland. Beware of fraudulent listings on Craig's List using some of our home's photos and descriptions, but maybe using a slightly different address.

NOTE: 1% of revenues are donated by us in memory of Moreland Grace Stenstrom for the charitable works of The Peapod Project in Chicago, IL, which benefits Childrens Memorial Hospital - we thank you.

We love to travel as empty nesters. Our son attends the Berklee College of Music in Boston - so this location was a perfect fit for us! Near him and his campus...

Tim Hyland purchased this house in 2011

With my parents, sisters, nieces and nephews, there was no single location in Boston that could accomodate our entire group of 14. Plus, we love Boston and enjoy visiting our son.

Boston is known as a walking city and our location is perfect for walkers. Symphony Hall, Christian Science Mother Church, Fenway Park, Prudential Center and famed-Newbury Street and Boylston Street are all easy walks from our location. We also like to work-out, so we added a fairly extensive fitness room for those who like to try to stay in shape while traveling (even during Boston's winter).

Excellent Boston Rental

My friends and I were looking for a large house to accommodate a girls weekend so we inquired about the Boston Brownstone. The owner Tim was absolutely fabulous and was easily available to answer all of our questions before the trip. He also accommodated some schedule conflicts that we came across and was flexible with check-in/check-out times to better suit our needs.

When we arrived on Friday, we were in awe with how beautiful the brownstone actually was. The pictures didn't do it justice! The house was spotless and the decor inside was incredible. Everyone was happy with their bedrooms and sleeping situations. We did a lot of cooking at the house in the gorgeous kitchen and we played games in the kitchen and the upstairs living room (both rooms had plenty of room for all of us to sit comfortably). Overall, we cannot think of one thing we would have changed about the house or the weekend--- it was PERFECT for us!

We are so excited to hear that Tim is renovating a Brownstone in Chicago. It very well may be the location for our next girls weekend!!

Perfect house, perfect owners

Our family (my wife, myself, and two young kids ages 1.5 and 4.5) had wanted to travel to Boston for quite a while. We ended up going rather urgently due to a family medical situation without the ability to plan far ahead. Tim was just outstanding in his flexibility as we sorted out when we needed to be there and how long we would have to stay. His kindness was just such an amazing gift to us. In our emails back and forth, he made it clear we had enough to worry about and the ability to not worry about this house was truly priceless. The house itself is in a perfect location. It is a < 5 min walk to the Symphony T stop. This can get you anywhere in the city quickly and no car is needed. We did have a car and used it to visit the hospital (The Harvard Longwood area is only a 10m drive or 10m T ride) but you definitely would not need one. The Prudential Center is a 10m walk and with Newbury Street and Copley just a minute or two beyond, the activities within a 15m walk or T ride are limitless. The house itself is beautiful. They did an incredible job in setting this up. The accommodations were simply perfect. We used all of the bedrooms and each bedroom and bathroom was flawless. The kitchen and dining room were beautiful. There were many common areas, a library, a gym. The basement was a bit more private and our babysitter slept there-- this is a perfect bedroom for anyone, including a teenager, caretaker, etc who might want privacy. The house has it ALL. We happened to start our trip during the Polar Vortex of 2014 and given the sub-0 temperatures, the radiators were a bit noisy. However, Tim sent someone over and they fixed the problem immediately. To summarize, we were there for a stressful medical issue with a family member and because of Tim's amazing flexibility and kindness, together with the absolutely perfect house, we were able to really enjoy our week in Boston. I believe he has some other houses and we would rent from him anywhere. We are absolutely going to return to Boston for vacation sometime soon. We could not rate this highly enough. 6 Stars.

Wonderful stay at 8 Symphony Road

We stayed for 5 days at 8 Symphony Road with our families the weekend of our wedding. Our families came from California, New England, New Jersey, Washington DC, and this was the PERFECT place for us. The house was beautiful and very comfortably accommodated 14 people spanning three generations. All of the furnishings, decor and amenities are beautiful and very high quality, and our families could not believe what a beautiful house we'd found to rent. It's also in an excellent location and was easy to get around the city via public transportation, walking and by car. This is a great part of Boston and was truly a wonderful way to spend time together and access the best of the city. Plus the 3 included parking spaces were such a great added convenience. The owners were extremely helpful in answering our questions, and accommodating changes in our needs. They were quick to respond and very pleasant in all interactions. We also briefly met the maintenance and house-keeping staff and they were also incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. I can't recommend 8 Symphony Road highly enough.

A perfect spot for a memorable Christmas with family!

The home at 8 Symphony Road was a perfect setting for our large, blended family gathering during the week of Christmas. Tim and Natalie helped to set the mood by providing a Christmas tree and allowing us to decorate. They were prompt and gracious in responding to our questions or requests.
The large kitchen, dining, and family rooms accomodated gatherings of friends and more family, while the bedrooms on multiple levels allowed space to get away and rest. The in-home gym and laundry were amazing and well used!
We also found the location to be perfect for walking to symphony hall, museums, Freedom Trail, groceries, post office, T stop). The house really has the feel of a comfortable home in Boston, a city that also shared a big welcome to visitors.
The week went quickly but the memories will last a very long, sweet time. Thank you for sharing your home.

Family Christmas in Boston

This unit is OVER THE TOP. Location is idea for all functions in Boston. The walking may have been slightly cold due to the time of the season, but the "Home" made it a great place to gather and review the days activities as well plan for the next day. The "T" is close by, so a car is not necessary. This unit sets the bar for all large cities and what is offered in the downtown area.
