RENOVATED BROWNSTONE NEAR SYMPHONY HALL

Boston House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8-14)

Exceptional 3600sf Boston Brownstone (sleeps 8 - 14) located in the charming Symphony Hall area of Boston’s highly desirable Back Bay neighborhood.

We’ve previously rented vacation homes in Wisconsin and Nantucket, MA, for our own family vacations and we were disappointed with the availability of large rental homes here in Boston. So, we acquired this home, which features various sleeping configurations for large groups on multiple floors, recently updated kitchens and baths, a lower level area perfect for seniors or an au pair/nanny, rare parking (one covered space attached and two nearby surface parking spaces), nearby parks, shopping and restaurants galore. This is a perfect residence for a large multi-generational family vacation, relatives attending a Boston wedding, a ladies trip to Boston, a guy’s trip to Fenway, or for a key birthday, anniversary or College graduation celebration. It beats the heck out of staying in the expensive hotels of the Boston-area.

Located at 8 Symphony Road, the residence is located 2 blocks away from the MBTA Green Line E's Symphony Stop at Huntington Ave. Also, numerous Colleges (i.e. Berklee College of Music, Boston Conservatory, Northeastern University, New England Conservatory of Music, etc.), Museums (Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and Museum of Fine Arts) and other attractions are within walking distance or a very short taxi ride, including The Christian Science Mother Church, Duck Tours, Hop On/Off Bus, Historic Fenway Park, The Prudential Center, Hynes Convention Center and famed-Newbury Street and Bolyston Street's Premier Shopping and Restaurant areas.

Lower Level – (sleeps 2) Rear entry from parking area with One Bedroom (King), Full Bath, Laundry and Fitness Room – Perfect for Seniors, Au Pair or Nanny.

Parlor Level - First Floor (sleeps 0-2) – Front Entry Foyer, Full Kitchen, Large Living/Dining Room Grand Parlor Area with Queen Sofa Sleeper.

Second Floor (sleeps 2-4) – Master Bedroom (King), Full Bath, Family Room with Queen Sofa Sleeper and Library.

Third Floor (sleeps 4-6) – Bedroom #3 (Two Twin Beds, which can be made into a King on request), Smaller Bedroom #4 with Day/Trundle Bed and a separate Loft Area with Queen Sofa Sleeper, Full Bath

PARKING: In addition to the One-Car Carport behind our home, we also own a Parking Space in a Nearby Surface Lot, which is available at no additional charge.

WARNING: This property is available exclusively through VRBO and HomeAway and from the owner/manager, Tim and Natalie Hyland. Beware of fraudulent listings on Craig's List using some of our home's photos and descriptions, but maybe using a slightly different address.

NOTE: 1% of revenues are donated by us in memory of Moreland Grace Stenstrom for the charitable works of The Peapod Project in Chicago, IL, which benefits Childrens Memorial Hospital - we thank you.

Guestbook comments from the owner
We visited with our grown children and several cousins. It is everything shown in the pictures and more. Everything needed for comfortable living was there with a fully stocked kitchen. We utilized the dining table for a huge family dinner. The LR was so comfortable as we listened to music and played a game - included in the library cabinets! The house is convenient to everything, so very clean and sunshine streams through each floor. Had a great time and hope to return. Thanks Tim and Natalie.

We love to travel as empty nesters. Our son attends the Berklee College of Music in Boston - so this location was a perfect fit for us! Near him and his campus...

Tim Hyland purchased this house in 2011

With my parents, sisters, nieces and nephews, there was no single location in Boston that could accomodate our entire group of 14. Plus, we love Boston and enjoy visiting our son.

Boston is known as a walking city and our location is perfect for walkers. Symphony Hall, Christian Science Mother Church, Fenway Park, Prudential Center and famed-Newbury Street and Boylston Street are all easy walks from our location. We also like to work-out, so we added a fairly extensive fitness room for those who like to try to stay in shape while traveling (even during Boston's winter).

Fabulous option for a family/group!

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I brought our 5 kids to show them our old Boston stomping grounds... We loved having a "home-away-from-home" option where we could have space to spread out and eat in; it is so convenient and economical to not have to eat out every meal. The place was nicely furnished and it was especially nice to not have to worry about soap/toilet paper/shampoo/etc... This location was very convenient to hop on and off the "T" (Symphony) metro stop with our kids 7-16 ages. Thanks for providing an excellent option for our family!

Amazing Rental Property!

  • 5 of 5
We just completed a stay in Boston for 5 days to hang out with family and friends, and this rental property was absolutely perfect. The home is extremely spacious and well accommodated, and there was not a single detail missed. The listing description is accurate, the photos accurately reflect the property (they don't really do it justice), the property was clean and well maintained, the kitchen and great rooms were amazing, as was the location. I would definitely recommend this property, and will evaluate it for future trips to Boston.

Great Location/Great Kitchen

  • 5 of 5
Walking distance to the Museum of Fine Arts, Fenway park, Symphony Hall, subways, grocery store, wine store. As good as it gets. There were 9 of us over 3 generations and we enjoyed cooking most of our sophisticated meals as the kitchen had everything we needed, even sharp knives. My family even made use of the workout room. We have stayed in many VRBO vacation homes and this worked very well. It was a wonderful place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and we are only 70!!!We would definitely return.

The Best Large Rental in Boston!

  • 5 of 5
We reserved this beautiful house over a year in advance for our extended family of 12, in town for our daughter's graduation from Boston College. Hotels rates were ridiculously inflated during this time period, and we found there were surprisingly few large rentals in Boston that could accommodate our family. This house was perfect, and everyone from the grandparents to the college kids loved it. As others have mentioned, the location is great. There is a Whole Foods just a block or so away, and it is convenient to many points of interest, restaurants, shops and the T. The owners were very professional and easy to deal with. We had a very small issue with the house once we got there, and the local property manager was prompt, efficient and could not have been more helpful. The house itself is beautifully decorated and set up with everything you could possibly want. Everything was exactly as described on VRBO. Do not hesitate to rent this great house. You won't be sorry!

Super Symphony!

  • 5 of 5
12 of us stayed at this fabulous place and couldn't have been more pleased. The location is only 3 blocks from New England Conservatory, 2 blocks to the Symphony subway stop, 2 blocks to the Mapparium, etc. An easy walk to the Museum of Fine Arts which had a wonderful quilt exhibit. 8 Symphony Road itself is just beautiful, very comfortable and provided everything that we needed. This is a perfect place to stay for any large gathering.
