Exceptional 3600sf Boston Brownstone (sleeps 8 - 14) located in the charming Symphony Hall area of Boston’s highly desirable Back Bay neighborhood.
We’ve previously rented vacation homes in Wisconsin and Nantucket, MA, for our own family vacations and we were disappointed with the availability of large rental homes here in Boston. So, we acquired this home, which features various sleeping configurations for large parties on multiple floors, recently updated kitchens and baths, a lower level area perfect for seniors or an au pair/nanny, rare rear parking (one covered space), nearby parks, shopping and restaurants galore. This is a perfect residence for a large multi-generational family vacation, relatives attending a Boston wedding, a ladies trip to Boston, a guy’s trip to Fenway, or for a key birthday, anniversary or College graduation celebration. It beats the heck out of staying in the expensive hotels of the Boston-area.
Located at 8 Symphony Road, the residence is located 2 blocks away from the MBTA Green Line E's Symphony Stop at Huntington Ave. Also, numerous Colleges (i.e. Berklee College of Music, Boston Conservatory, Northeastern University, New England Conservatory of Music, etc.), Museums (Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and Museum of Fine Arts) and other attractions are within walking distance or a very short taxi ride, including The Christian Science Mother Church, Duck Tours, Hop On/Off Bus, Historic Fenway Park, The Prudential Center, Hynes Convention Center and famed-Newbury Street and Bolyston Street's Premier Shopping and Restaurant areas.
Lower Level – (sleeps 2) Rear entry from parking area with One Bedroom (King), Full Bath, Laundry and Fitness Room – Perfect for Seniors, Au Pair or Nanny.
Parlor Level - First Floor (sleeps 0-2) – Front Entry Foyer, Full Kitchen, Large Living/Dining Room Grand Parlor Area with Queen Sofa Sleeper.
Second Floor (sleeps 2-4) – Master Bedroom (King), Full Bath, Family Room with Queen Sofa Sleeper and Library.
Third Floor (sleeps 4-6) – Bedroom #3 (Two Twin Beds, which can be made into a King on request), Smaller Bedroom #4 with Day/Trundle Bed and a separate Loft Area with Queen Sofa Sleeper, Full Bath
PARKING: In addition to the One-Car Carport behind our home, we also own a Parking Space in a Nearby Surface Lot, which is available at no additional charge.
WARNING: This property is available exclusively through VRBO and HomeAway and from the owner/manager, Tim and Natalie Hyland. Beware of fraudulent listings on Craig's List using some of our home's photos and descriptions, but maybe using a slightly different address.
NOTE: 1% of revenues are donated by us in memory of Moreland Grace Stenstrom for the charitable works of The Peapod Project in Chicago, IL, which benefits Childrens Memorial Hospital - we thank you.

We love to travel as empty nesters. Our son attends the Berklee College of Music in Boston - so this location was a perfect fit for us! Near him and his campus...
With my parents, sisters, nieces and nephews, there was no single location in Boston that could accomodate our entire group of 14. Plus, we love Boston and enjoy visiting our son.
Boston is known as a walking city and our location is perfect for walkers. Symphony Hall, Christian Science Mother Church, Fenway Park, Prudential Center and famed-Newbury Street and Boylston Street are all easy walks from our location. We also like to work-out, so we added a fairly extensive fitness room for those who like to try to stay in shape while traveling (even during Boston's winter).
Boston's Symphony Neighborhood borders the Back Bay, Fenway and the South End of Boston. In the immediate area, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops perform at Symphony Hall, the Christian Science Mother Church has the Mapperium (an attraction described as one of the best kept secrets in Boston), Berklee Performance Center (quality Music), Boston University's Huntington Theatre, and Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. Within a mile walk are: the Prudential Center, which has shops and restaurants galore, the Skywalk Observatory Tour on its 50th Floor, access to the Original Duck Tours and access to the Hop-on, Hop-off Boston City Bus Tours; restaurants and shops on the famed-Newbury Street; more restaurants and shops on Boylston Street; historic Fenway Park and the Boston Red Sox; and the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum (site of the multi-million dollar unsolved art heist). With a longer walk, ride on Boston MTBA 'T' or short taxi ride, you can walk Boston's famed Freedom Trail, tour the 200+ year-old USS Constitution, view historic grave sites of Sam Adams, John Hancock, Paul Revere and others, view the site of the Boston Massacre, the Boston Tea Party and historic Faneuil Hall. And, you can't miss at least having one beer at the bar that the TV Show Cheers was based upon!
