Blue Mountain Beach Condo Rental Photos and Description
Large Condo sleeps 6-10 with 3 Bedrooms, 2 sofa-beds, 2.5 Baths, Wi-Fi, big pool
Santa Rosa Beach is #2 of the 10 Best Beaches for Spring Travel according to InsideHook Nation, March 2014. 'The best part of the Florida Panhandle is crystal clear waters as warm as a bathtub, stunning architecture and perhaps the best sport-fishing on the continent. Plus: a fine place for golf and paddleboarding!' We are waiting for you!
Enjoy this sunny and comfortably furnished 1600 sq. ft. condo with 3 bedrooms (2 kings, 1 bunk), 2½ baths and a bonus/play room overlooking the giant swimming pool! Equipped with 3 HDTV's, digital cable, internet Wi-Fi and free local and long-distance calling! Blue Mountain Beach offers spectacular views of the coastline and is the highest point anywhere on the Gulf of Mexico (at a whopping elevation of 64 feet).
Blue Mountain Beach stands out along the South Walton coastline with its own naturally laid-back style that will etch long-lasting memories in your mind! We're quietly nestled in the Village of Blue Mountain which is conveniently located halfway between Destin and Panama City Beach on scenic 30-A. We're honored, but not surprised that 30-A just made the Top 10 list for Most Relaxing Scenic Drives in the US and Canada according to the Huffington Post!
Your home features a private Master suite, 2 guest rooms, eat-in kitchen, separate dining room and a living room with 22 foot ceilings. In addition, two sleeper sofas will provide you plenty of room for the entire family and some castaways, or just bring yourselves for a quiet beach getaway! Catch a view of the gulf from the kids room before heading to the beach. Choose from 2 beach accesses which are an easy stroll from the condo and the same distance, approximately 3-4 blocks (.4 miles).
For #1 access, just stroll out the front entrance and turn left on 30-A, hook a quick right onto Redfish Circle and follow it to the end, then hang left on Blue Lupine Way to the west side of the Inn at Blue Mountain Beach. Or visit #2 access by skipping out the back side of the Village onto Hwy 83, grab a right and the road dead ends into the beach. You can also ride bikes or drive your car to the parking area, and both areas have public restrooms.
After soaking up the sun and surf all day, hop on your bikes and pedal along the designated paths to explore the town's art gallery, creamery, bakery or daily specials at seven locally owned (non-chain) restaurants. Would you rather eat in? No problem. The fully stocked kitchen has anything you desire to make your stay just like home. And not to worry, Publix is only 3 miles down the road and they will cater to the most discerning taste-buds. Need an excuse not to cook? Let me recommend our (and the local's) favorite two restaurants, The Red Bar and Stinky's Fish Camp. You'll thank me later!
And don't think about leaving the beach or pool, but if you want to get wild - head to Point Washington State Forest (literally out the back door) for a true outdoor adventure! Take a hike, mountain bike, picnic or guided horseback rides through 15,399 acres of cypress swamps, pine groves and world’s highest concentration of coastal dune lakes. The Longleaf Pine Greenway Trail is a 3.5, 5 or 10 mile loop meandering along its rare coastal lakes and provides an abundance of wildlife and natural scenery.
Or what about jogging and biking the 19 mile-long Timpoochee Trail which hugs the coastline and breezes through several beach communities of South Walton. And try your skill on the YOLO board (an over-sized surf board) or kayak and paddle effortlessly across Western Lake or any of the area's 15 natural lakes!
Blue Mountain is a perspective unlike any other along 30-A, just a little more rustic and elevated with pristine dune lakes and long-range views from the higher elevations. Blue Mountain is one of the Beaches of South Walton, encompassing 26 miles of pristine coastline. It is the only destination in the country to have its entire coastline certified as “Blue Wave” by the Clean Beaches Council for its commitment to maintaining unspoiled shoreline and natural habitat.
“Blue Mountain Beach” is hardly a mountain but at least they got the beach part right! This coastal community is located in south Walton County on Scenic Hwy 30-A and features many high-end condos and residential neighborhoods worth mentioning like The Villages of Blue Mountain Beach. Do not let the name fool you, there are no mountains in Blue Mountain Beach. However, we sit on one of the highest recorded elevations in Florida and on the Gulf of Mexico. This high elevation appeals to many property owners because it allows expansive beach vistas in all directions. Historians say that the name came from a blue haze around the tall dunes; others credit the lupine - a rare plant with deep blue blossoms. Locals will tell you it’s the view of the water from atop this village's namesake. But ancient legend has it that Indians mistook this blue haze for “Blue Mountains” when they spotted the beach's mountain-like dunes covered in blue wildflowers around dawn. I’d like to believe the Indians!
Popular family-run restaurants and Mom & Pop shops have kept the flavor of the community intact even as it has grown. And the best part is that you won't find any high-rises or discount stores here! So get ready to kick off your shoes, relax and let our 'Barefoot Palace' and Blue Mountain Beach be the family vacation you have always wanted! Blue Mountain is more than just a great beach, it’s a great place!

Why Cindy & Lee Peterson chose Blue Mountain Beach
I've been coming to South Walton since the mid 80's and Blue Mountain Beach is one of my favorite areas of the country. The beaches are second to none and it's just a 7 hour drive from our home in Nashville. And you must bring your bikes (or rent them from Big Daddy's) and ride the 19 mile Timpoochee Trail alongside scenic 30-A.
