Master Bedroom- w/queen a pillow top bed with luxury bedding, TV, w/walk-in closet and large area for one of the Queen air beds if needed. A well-designed Full Bathroom, large shower has a 3’’ lip for easy access.

There is also a queen size sofa sleeper for additional guests; an ancient glass top grape vine root coffee table from the Santa Rosa Vineyard ties it all together. Large 3 seat theater couch faces the big screen TV, you can watch the moon rise while watching your favorite show,

• Upstairs- 2 bedrooms w/queen pillow top beds with luxury bedding (2 bed height air beds available if needed). One bedroom offers a viewing deck, while the other offers extra seating and a TV. The shared full bathroom with bathtub /shower and large soft towels. To get away from it all, enjoy the loft area extended views of the Blue Ridge Mountain tops.

• Washer/dryer second set is in the basement and another full size Refrigerator. Two large French doors open in the basement, to bring the outside in (Basement unfinished to date)

About Sheri Carson

Ric and I started our swimming pool business in S. Florida, in 1980. I saw an add on 09/15/2001: 'Come to where the breeze is cool, the air is clear, and the water is pure. There's almost no traffic, and it's so quiet you can hear the waterfall down at the creek. Start planning your escape to Majestic Mountain today'.' we flew up to NC the next day, to see this land, The second I stood on Majestic Mountain, I felt my soul calm and my mind clear... I was home.

we were the first to purchace land on Majestic Mountain, there were only a few dirt roads cut out then, but so beautiful. It took us 9 years later, to build our cabin, we just finished it October 2011.

Our 2012/2013 goal is to finish the basement, right now it is walled, 3- sets of Fench Doors, a cement Floor, washer/dryer/ref.

and ready for a 3rd bathroom. But the kids love to play down there.

I love Wilkesboro NC. There is an old town, with all the charm of a small town, we have an old time diner that serves old style banana splits, and hamburgers. Wilkesboro also has the new town with Kohl's, JC Pennies, Wall mart, Lowes, fine dining and much more.

The several wonderful Wineries. Old town is adorable, and so much to do.

We love to find the waterfalls around here, there are so many, and the hiking is endless.

funny things we have learned:

1- Motorcycle riders love to try to Tame the Tail of the Dragon, 338 turns in 6 miles- and then buy the Tee- shirt, “I survived the Dragon”

2-there'a a 8th mile track kids race on (family event) people of all ages cars trucks and kids on gas three wheelers for Friday time trials and the races so much family fun.

3-while driving in NC, take a cooler with drinks and a sandwich, there is so much beauty, just up the road there is a stone covered bridge,its about 30 miles round trip, pack a lunch and a fishing pole, there is a beautiful creek, all along the road, and great Trout fishing and single tube rafting.

At the top- there is a beautiful ridge hotel with hundreds of motorcycles for a gathering, or a horse show, antique fairs, the possibilities are endless, so try and be flexible

    I check this option with caution: there are No Ramps, extra bathroom railings, etc. however, there are only 3-small steps to front porch and main large door, and on the main floor is the easy access kitchen, room to move around bathroom with a only small lip to get into a large shower, living room, dining room, bedroom, porches, and washer and dryer. So a person never has to leave the main level for comfort, it’s all there. And we have had several guests stay with us, because the house set up is very nice for them,

I came back to work this Monday morning feeling very relaxed, refreshed and excited! I am excited about the possibility of coming back for an even longer stay at this very, very comfortable and breathtakingly beautiful property. Everything was exactly as it appeared in the photos and all instructions were on point. I and 3 high school friends was celebrating the completion of chemo and radiation treatments for one of the attendees and we could not be more pleased. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, relaxing and scenic getaway! Wow, what an experience.

Girls Weekend

We had a wonderful girls weekend and fit 9 of us comfortably in the house. Great getaway, close to vineyards/wineries, and a great house with wonderful views!!

Great Cabin at the top of the Mountain!

I really enjoyed my stay at crooked tree cabin.
The cabin floor-plan would be perfect for 6-8 people to have very comfortable accommodations. Or in my case a great getaway for me and my girlfriend.
The views are breath-taking! Pictures do no justice to the views that you have from the kitchen, upper balcony, main living area, bedrooms, and especially the huge exterior porch. There is a view from nearly every single place in the cabin. Views were my main consideration when looking for a place to stay, and I was not disappointed at all with the crooked tree cabin. The HUGE wall of windows overlooking the mountain is indescribably amazing!
The cabin is also new, clean, and has PLENTY of space! The vaulted ceilings in the upper bedrooms, and in the main living space make the home feel larger than it already is.

Every detail has been considered, and everything we needed for kitchen accessories, and bathroom needs were available, high quality, and well thought out. There were even q-tips! :-) I also especially liked cooking on the gas stove. Again, everything you need in a kitchen was available, and good quality.
There were also plenty of towels, linens, blankets, complete with a front loader washer & dryer, and even detergent & fabric softener!
I had no issues reaching the cabin, and even though I have 4wd I did not need to use it at any time. The cabin being in a gated community was also a nice touch.
The proximity to gas, grocery, dining, entertainment, parks, etc could not have been any better. It is also close to Boone NC, and reasonably close to Ashville, where we paid a visit to Biltmore Estate. The Blue Ridge Parkway was also close, and a great day trip to take.
Beds were comfortable, and the cinema style reclining seats, were a great touch! ( I now want some) The flat screens in the bedrooms were nice, and the huge tv, and great sounding stereo/entertainment system were better than any rental I have ever seen. (even better than I have in my own home) :-)

I recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a really nice place to stay that has everything you can think of. The owner was very easy to work with, and made sure we had everything we could possibly need.

Owner's Response: Thank you Nate for the great review, I'm totally blown away by you kind and generous comments. I cannot tell you how thrilled I am that you and your girlfriend found everything to your liking and I have to agree, I love cooking on a gas stove too.
About 11 years ago we were the first one to purchase a lot on Majestic Mountain, there were not even roads yet, there were 10 lots to view and a bumpy ride to get there, but we absolutely fell in love with the views too, , we looked at house plans for 7 years before choosing this style, we wanted privacy in the front with a back yard view and huge windows and decks, we were so lucky to have Steve and Patsy of Hamby Construction ( now out caretakers and cleaning lady) to help us, they take such good care of the cabin for me so all the little extra’s like the soaps and Q-Tips for our guests are a true complement to our housekeeper Patsy, I will pass your review on to her, she too will be thrilled.
I do hope you both have a chance to come back out to the crooked tree sometime, you left the cabin in wonderful order, thank you for the gentle care of our cabin.

North Carolina Mountain Home

Our family were greatly surprized at the beautiful, spacious new home we rented for our family vacation. The home was unbelieveabily stocked with all the neccesities anyone could need. We were close to town but far enough away to feel secluded. There were beautiful views all around. Were were able to drive to Sugar Mt. for skiing where there was a winter wonderland! But we drove back to the home into normal winter weather weather -- cold and clear!!!!
This is by far the BEST home we have ever rented.

Sugar Mt. for skiing sounds what fun, it is really amazing the weather change between mountain range, which is one of the features we love so much, and the cabin really is in a warming belt in the winter and cooler in the summer than the surrounding areas. Wonderful Experience!!!!!!!

This home is in immaculate condition. It was well stocked with towels/cookware/toiletries and cleaning products. The owners went to great lengths to accomodate our growing family with a 2.5 year old and an 11 month old by baby proofing everything. The views were amazing. We lost power at one point for about 3 hours and the gas fireplace kept us nice and toasty. The housekeeper lives nearby and stopped by to give us candles just incase and offered any help if needed. The gas range was great to cook on. The beds and linnens were VERY comfortable. The internet was extremely slow. Web browsing was at best a casual glance at a web page. They did have DirectTV with great children's programming but the package was very basic and did not have much of value other than for the kids and the local news. Stores were relatively convenient (within a 15-20 minute drive). Our dogs had a blast running around the property. We drove to blowing rock and saw some beautiful sights and even got lucky at the Foggy Rock Gem Mine finding a couple large garnets, rubies and emeralds. Hickory was 45 minute drive back to civilization with malls, movies and restaurants. All in all, a great stay and would highly recommend this for someone looking for a relaxing trip.

I'm sorry about the slow internet, I have had the company out to the cabin again to see why, and they said it’s the area right now, but they say there working on it.

I have the children’s/family channel through Direct TV, I’m sorry I thought it had several good programs to choose from for the kids, I’ll see what other options there is available for our guest with young children, thank you for letting me know.

I hope you and your beautiful family have a chance to come back out to the Crooked Tree cabin again someday. We have several projects and upgrades in line for the 2013 year, a finished basement with a game room with billiards and Wii and a Board games and a Movie collection, hoping to be able to make the cabin fun for all.
