Chateau / Country House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

We are nestled in the rolling hills of beautiful Gloucester county and have a relaxing pet-friendly carriage house to get away from it all, with your pet.

The Carriage House includes two bedrooms, (one queen, one full size beds), eat-in kitchen with separate eating area, a living area that has Direct TV, WiFi and DVD player a fully equipped kitchen, and a washer and dryer for your convenience. On nice mornings you can go out on the sundeck and relax with a cup of coffee and watch the wild-life. Not only does the bathroom have a jet-tub, but there is a 4 person hot-tub out side, and seasonally, a pool.

We are 45 minutes from Historic Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Water Country, Outlet shopping and great restaurants. Only 25 minutes away from Historic Yorktown, shopping, restaurants and sandy beaches and we are 15-45 minutes away from several golf courses.

We have luxury accommodations for you and your pet, come see us.

About The Owner

In 2000, my husband had a vision when he saw an old condemned farmhouse on acres of over grown weeds. With a lot of hard work and that vision, he created a wonderful business in 2003, Sandy Creek Pet Resort. Since then, with more hard work and patience, he saw more and more potential, and together, we built our new home. (the farm house has a new home, thanks to Craigs List)

We are obviously pet lovers, and encourage people to enjoy their vacation with their pets. We have 4 dogs and 3 cats of our own, and we raise dogs. Life is good.

The Owner purchased this chateau / country house in 2000
Why The Owner chose Gloucester

While we were building our home, we lived in the Carriage House, and it is now our vacation rental.

Inn at Sandy Creek a Lovely Little Gem

My family (husband, daughter, mother, dog and I) wanted a last-minute quiet getaway over Easter weekend. I contacted Sue and John Holt at the Inn at Sandy Creek and was pleasantly surprised at how easy they made the decision process for us. No hidden fees or deposits, no contracts. Just a credit card to hold the reservation and I was done.

The Carriage House itself was lovely. Beautifully appointed with incredibly comfortable beds, it has nice touches like a baby gate to keep the dog upstairs as well as a full-sized washer and dryer. There is a pool and hot tub, grills (gas and charcoal) and a huge patio. It is out in the country with a beautiful view, more than enough room for our dog to romp, and dark enough for some wonderful stargazing.

Our hosts were laid back and helpful, even letting our dog out while we enjoyed a day at Colonial Williamsburg.

I would highly recommend the Inn at Sandy Creek for anyone wanting a quiet place to relax. It was close enough to the things we wanted to do while being a nice escape. We look forward to coming back during the summer to hang out by the pool.

Wonderful Inn at Sandy Creek

We visited this lovely inn for 5 days in September. The Innkeepers Suzanne and John Holt are incredibly warm and accomodating. The Inn sits on a pastoral piece of land near Gloucester, Virginia that made for a beautiful backdrop to our mini vacation. The actual Inn is nicely and completely furnished with a full bath, kitchen, living area, dining table and two bedrooms. The Inn was very clean and had everything you would need to cook on a daily basis. It is a carriage house so you have your own back deck that overlooks the pool area and the gorgeous country view. There is also a washer and dryer which helped us a great deal. The pool area is absolutely wonderful with spots to relax and enjoy the great landscaping and the views. Our kids had a blast swimming and we really appreciated having an incredibly nice place to vacation with my family. On the same property as the Inn is the Sandy Creek Pet Resort. It is a great place to keep your doggy members of the family. If you have a smaller dog, the owners will work with and allow it to stay at the inn with you, you just need to ask.
I would recommend this Inn to everyone whether you want to get away for a few days or stay a whole week, it is perfect! Suzanne and John will make you feel at home and do everything they can to ensure you have a awesome stay.
