Spending time with my family at the cabin is my favorite thing to do.

The Owner purchased this cabin in 2011

“I’m in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection. But with Montana it is love. And it’s difficult to analyze love when you’re in it.”

We enjoyed all aspects of our stay from the large, modern kitchen to the beautiful view from the hot tub on the river. Also worth mentioning is the great sun room, washer and dryer and the ample space in the bedrooms. We took advantage of the barbecue grill to cook up the rainbow trout we caught right there on the Clark Fork. Thanks for providing such a great spot for us to gather.

Quaint but comfortable. Lovely view and occasional wildlife. Enjoyed the wood stove and supply of wood. Awesome hot tub looking over the river. The newly added sitting room with all the glass is an awesome place to enjoy a good book and watch the world go by.
If we come back in the summer...I'll have my fly rod and my kayaks.

Great visit to Montana.

What a great month at a charming cabin on the Clark Fork River

This charming cabin along the Clark Fork River served as my base for the month of Oct while I traveled the area in search of my dream ranch property. It was a well located cabin, no more than 25 minutes from downtown Missoula and within modest driving distance of the renowned Alberton Gorge and the National Bison Refuge. The cabin was cozy, clean and comfortable. The wood burning stove provided amazing heat and the hot tub was a welcome respite after a long day on the road. How wonderful it is to have a beautiful flowing river right at your doorstep! We fly fished, kayaked, skipped rocks and watched families of mergansers paddle on by. We had the pleasure of watching mountain sheep traverse the well worn mountain trails on the hillside across the river and enjoyed seeing coyote and a huge herd of elk in the area as well.

The only challenge for me was growing accustomed to the noise and frequency of the freight trains that rumbled by at all hours of the night. The tracks are just across the river from the cabin. I am a very light sleeper and eventually had to use earplugs to block out some of the noise.

Overall, though, it was a wonderful month at this cabin and I'd not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. The owner and his brother were very helpful as well.

40th Birthday Fly Fishing Extravaganza

Five of my very close friends and I stayed for a week at Sans Souce Cabin last week. First of all, calling this a cabin is a huge understatement. The place is huge. And it's as luxurious as they come. The pictures on the web-site really don't do it justice. The view is picturesque with the Clark Fork a few steps away and Cinderella Mountain directly front and center from the main room of the house. All of us slept in comfort in our own rooms (my one pint sized buddy took the adjacent cabin located a 20 yards from the main home). A few of our favorite amenities included the charcoal grill (with charcoal provided!), a Bose speaker system outside on the lanai that allowed us to listen to the game or iPod while sitting outside, the jacuzzi, the very efficient ice maker in the freezer, the washer and dryer came in handy for all our wet wading clothes, all the cooking gear you could imagine, and the satellite cable flat screen TV that allowed us to get all the best sports channels when we came back to unwind from a long day on the river. The fishing all over Missoula was amazing as well. The boys at Grizzly Hackle treated us well and our guide Sam was a blast. We spent time on all the following rivers: Rock Creek, Fishing Creek, St Regis River, the Bitteroot, and the Clark Fork. All were prodective but to be honest there was one hole very close to the cabin where we enjoyed the best fishing of our trip. Sorry but it's a secret. If you want to know you might want to book a trip thru the Grizzly Hackle and find out for yourself. I highly recommend Sans Souci for a group of guys who enjoy being out in the wild but don't mind being spoiled by really swank accomodations. This place really has it all. One other note... the owner, Adam, really catered to every question and request I had for him. He even provded two coolers for us to use just in case we got thirsty out on the river. First Class all around.

Family Getaway

The pictures and description of the rental perfectly represent the facilities and location. The property was very well maintained and clean.
We had a group that aged from 17-92 and the cabin addressed all of our needs. For activities we rode on the Hiawatha Bike trail (about 1.5 hours west), floated the river (from 3 miles above the cabin and got out at the cabin), played tennis in Alberton (one of the two courts was good), road bikes on the roads around the cabin and played horse shoes. The white water rafting adventures could be seen entering the river at the bridge about .5 mile down river.

The daytime temps were near or above 90 yet the cabin was kept very comfortable with the air conditioning. The beds were quite comfortable.

There were no issues with the facilities, but we did contact the property manager for a couple of questions and they were very easy to reach and friendly.

All of us would recommend this cabin to our friends and relatives.
