Beautiful apartment with marvelous view of il Duomo
I and my fellow traveler, both elderly ladies, enjoyed this apartment very much. We were met by Dianna who brought us a bottle of sparkling water and one of red wine to welcome us. Dianna is very fluent in English and very informative. The furniture and decor are lovely, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Overall it was a wonderful apartment. Instructions and helpful information is neatly kept in a red notebook. WiFi is included.
She gave us our (one) set of three keys for the three locks you need to open to enter the apartment. The locks make the apartment quite secure, which is a good thing, but only having one set of keys for two travelers going to different places didn't work for us, as we explained to Dianna (often), however she was either not authorized to give us each a set of keys or they just did not have two sets to give out. Having to be yoked together was very inconvenient for us and unexpected. I suggest future renters clarify how many sets of keys will be available ahead of time if they wish to go their separate ways. Of course for some travelers one set of keys would do nicely.
The keys are attached to a card that must be inserted into a slot for the electicity to be turned on. When the keys go out, the electicity goes out too. This helps avoid wasting energy. Not a problem once you realize you must charge your electronic gadgets and run the washer while you are in.
Thie apartment is exactly as described, spotlessly clean, comfortable and well maintained. The floor plan with connected bedrooms would be perfect for a family. The beds were comfortable, and each bedroom has a nicely decorated headboard with matching wardrobe. The bathroom has a nice shower and a washing machine. It was called a washer/dryer, but our clothes came out as damp as they do from a regular US washing machine and needed time to hang to dry. We tried all the settings and suggestions from ever-patient and helpful Dianna.
The location is within walking distance of almost everything we wanted to see in Florence, and the view of il Duomo is absolutely spectacular both day and night. I loved hearing the bells ringing when walking through the square. I was not bothered by any noise at night, but my fellow traveler said noisy people in the street disturbed her sleep at least one night, The elevator was very helpful since the apartment is on the fifth floor.
Osteria dell'Olio, Piazza dell'Olio, a pleasant indoor place, very near apartment, has a good seafood menu.

Owner's Response: Dear Jane,
thank you for your enthusiastic review. You have described the apartment wonderfully and I am glad that you found comfortable the space and the furnishings.
I agree with you, having the Duomo a few steps away is an incredible view, I remain fascinated every time.
I'm sorry for your discomfort with the washer-dryer, many guests have used it successfully. The technician was able to come after your departure and informed us that has been damaged the electronic device on the dryer function. Unfortunately these things happen ... and I'm sorry that during your stay it didn't work properly.
I apologize for the keys, but it has happened that previously guests have lost one set of keys and this caused me anxiety and forced me in changing all the locks of the three doors and later to redoing all the locks. Therefore Diana hadn't a second copy to give to you at that moment.
I appreciate your suggestion that gives me the 'opportunity to improve the service for my guests and I am now planning to provide a second set of keys just in case there be similar needs as yours.
I hope to see you soon again
