This was truly one of the best vacation spots we have ever been to. The villa was immaculate! Even more beautiful than the pictures. There was no need for a car. All of the restaurants were within walking distance, as well as the grocery store. The resort was in a fantastic location. You walk out of the front of the villa and you are at the beautiful pool. When you walk out the back of the villa, you are steps to the beautiful beach. We will definitely return for another vacation!! Many thanks to Nicola and Mel for their warm hospitality!!
We spent Christmas week 2013 in this fantastic condo at this fantastic resort and the family (teenage girls 19 & 17) had a great time! The resort is small but impeccably kept and the condo is beautiful, it was spotless upon our arrival and the photos portray the property very accurately. We hesitated about booking a first floor condo when we were searching but we were so glad that we did as the view was amazing and we never used the front door and instead just wandered in and out of the condo through the glass sliders and down to the beach or pool. We never locked the condo and felt safe the whole time (wallets, passports and iPads kept in the safe just to be sure).
We were met upon arrival at the resort and shown to our condo and we were never disappointed for a minute during our stay. Mel was fantastic and made us comfortable immediately, dinner and tour reservations were made for us, a prepaid cell phone was supplied at no charge and the condo was cleaned perfectly every day. In fact, their was a problem with our cable box when we tried to watch TV and Mel had it replaced within two hours on a Sunday afternoon!
You absolutely do not need a car at this resort! You can walk to numerous great restaurants, bars, tours and the local IGA grocery store is a 5-10 minute walk and has everything you would find at your local supermarket in the US. The prices are higher and knowing this in advance we brought an extra suitcase full of boxes of cereal, jars of peanuts, snacks for the kids, etc. and this was a great call!
The beach at Grace Bay is the best I have ever enjoyed and I have been to plenty all over the world. We walked the beach for hours, laid in the beach chairs and read and if it got too hot we laid by the pool, which was never crowded, and snoozed.
Our kids were never bored (although we rarely left the resort except for dinners, tours and the IGA) and told us it was their best vacation ever. We would re-visit T&C, this resort and this condo without hesitation! I own two beach condos in the US on VRBO and I felt guilty during our stay that I do not provide as much luxury to my guests as this condo provided to my family and myself!
We stayed at this Villa from Dec 28th until Jan 4th. When we arrived we were greeted by Mel who was wonderful, and after a short wait while they finished cleaning, we were taken to the Villa.
It was exactly as the pictures show. Beautiful. The view is amazing. Tennis rackets, snorkeling gear and bikes are at your disposal. They also had a cooler that we took to the beach everyday.
Be aware that groceries and food are very expensive on the island. We tended to buy wine, beer and coconut rum from the wine and spirit store around the corner instead of buying drinks at the pool bar. We also ate breakfast and lunch in the Villa and only went out for dinner.
Our best meal was at Bay Bistro. The best beach front restaurant was Hemmingways and the best unusual location was Coco Bistro which is under numerous coconut trees. It was also the most expensive! The best bar is The Sandbar which is only 2 minutes from the Villa.
If you need a taxi it will cost you a minimum of $5 a person. So even a short 5 minute ride for a family of 4 will cost you $20 plus tip. No charging by the mile on this island. You can walk to a lot of places though which is a bonus.
Grace Bay beach was outstanding. Always a breeze and the water is crystal clear. If you go in December the water is a little cooler than usual and also a little choppy because of the wind. It didn't bother us though. The wind kept you from getting too hot. Walking the beach is fun and you can access a number of restaurants that way.
The pool area is lovely and great it you have little kids. Loungers are always available. We have teenagers so the beach was our daily ritual. If you get to the beach and don't see any beach chairs available don't worry. The staff will help you set up however many you need, (for a tip). We only had to do this for two days when the resort was at it's busiest.
Excursions are also expensive but worth it. Parasailing is a must. Take a trip on the mini submarine if you don't like scuba diving. It's a great way to see the reef. Mel will help you make any reservations.
If you are lucky enough to be at the villa over New Year's Eve you will have plenty to do. Their are numerous firework displays and bonfires along the beach.
The Grace Bay Area is very safe and clean. The people are all very friendly and all speak English. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation. It was hard to leave. We will definitely be back.
We stayed at this property over Christmas and couldn't have been happier with the property. The location is wonderful, having a car is not necessary. Everything you need is within walking distance (grocery, shopping, restaurants, activities). The condo is lovely inside, and as it's on the ground floor it's perfect for walking straight out onto the beach or pool. Very convenient for kids! The kitchen had everything we needed for the times we wanted to prepare meals. There are so many choices for restaurants that its hard to decide. Nicola and her team took great care of us, and were so friendly and accommodating. Having stayed on the island many times before, this is our favorite location. Villa Renaissance is a lovely facility, but not stuffy. Great for families with or without children. We can't wait to go back!
Our stay at 105 Villa Renaissance was excellent. Our one bedroom, two bathroom arrangement was perfect. The pictures on VRBO represent the villa to a tee. Exactly as advertised. The raised ground floor unit was perfect for viewing the beach. Even though there are palm trees along the beach front, they did not interrupt the view of the beach at all. You can easily see the beach while eating on the veranda or dining table. The kitchen was fully stocked for everything needed to cook a meal. Very nice accommodations and was great having a washer/dryer combo in the unit. The resort was smaller than others nearby, which made the visit that much more comfortable. Smaller resort equals more privacy. The beach chairs, umbrellas and towels were setup for daily use. The resort staff was attentive to every detail from providing bottled water on the beach to preparing your favorite drink by the pool. If you were in need of anything or had any questions, they were more than happy to answer them and point you in the right direction. It was nice having complimentary bicycles for a quick trip to Graceway Gourmet, a newer grocery store. Great selection for a smaller grocery store.
Mel, our concierge, was a dream to work with. She attended to the daily service of the condo as well as last minute shower malfunctions. She also arranged our snorkeling excursion and taxi back to the airport. It was also nice having a $10 provided local cell phone to call back to the states, if needed, or call Mel with any questions. She was great and very personable!!!
The Regent Village was literally 100 steps away from the resort for your shopping pleasure along with various restaurants. We visited all restaurants within close walking distance such as Danny Buoy’s, The Vix, Pizza Pizza, and Seven. I wish we had more time to dine at Grace’s Cottage for dinner, but time ran out. We heard it was excellent. Seven had the best meal during our stay and was truly fine dining.
We can honestly see why Grace Bay Beach is rated the #1 beach in the world. Absolutely stunning and beautiful, and we will be back. Wonderful trip!!!
